Chapter 3
The handwriting gradually disappeared.
Replaced by a black-and-white image that was somewhat blurry.
But it could still be seen.
In a cramped, narrow space, there was a hunched figure with wrinkled skin and a strange physique.
When "he" turned around, it revealed highly decayed facial features, eyeballs with only whites, and torn flesh on the chest and abdomen.
It was literally a rotting corpse!
Even from a common-sense perspective, it should have long since lost the ability to move.
Yet it could face the camera and reveal a "human-like" smile.
"F*ck! What the hell is this thing! I shouldn't have kept watching this Foundation live stream!"
"Top 100 countdown? Don't tell me there are ninety-nine more things as ugly as this; that would be too terrifying!"
"I understand the logic, but why is the 100th containment item an old man, and why is the number 106?"
Bai Bai Xuan felt a weight on his body and opened his eyes to see March 7th shivering beside him.
The appearance of SCP-106 caused fear to spread throughout the universe.
Especially among humanoid races.
This thing looked too much like the monsters in horror stories.
Especially the kind that would eat a person as an appetizer at any moment!
[Containment Item: The Old Man]
[Item Number: SCP-106]
[Danger Level: Keter]
[Item Description: SCP-106 appears to be an elderly humanoid creature, typically having a highly decayed appearance.]
[SCP-106 prefers to use humans in the 10-25 age range as its prey, incapacitating them by attacking major organs, muscle tissue, or tendons, and then dragging the disabled prey into its pocket dimension.]
[SCP-106 can cause a "corrosion" effect on solid matter it touches, leading to the physical collapse of the material after a few seconds of contact.]
[SCP-106 can "disappear" into solid matter, entering a substance presumed to be a "pocket dimension," and exit from solid matter connected to the initial entry point.]
As the document appeared.
The camera gradually pulled back, and the audience saw what that cramped room actually was.
It was actually layers of completely sealed, welded metal boxes.
And outside the boxes, there were more than a dozen spherical metal layers.
Just from this method of containment, the danger level of the Old Man in the audience's hearts was infinitely raised.
When the camera pulled back to the furthest point, it was revealed to be a starship sailing through space.
Clearly, it was transporting [SCP-106].
The starship was not large, but it was full of sci-fi aesthetics, its main body shape approximating a rectangular parallelepiped, with the Foundation's logo painted on the silver-white hull.
As the starship sailed, a space station entered the frame, which was none other than the Herta Space Station.
In that inconspicuous corner, a thin line was slowly moving.
It was the Astral Express docking.
And on the outer side of the space station, there were dense crowds of humanoid creatures; in the distance, there was even a dragon-like creature soaring through the universe.
Astral Express.
Himeko recognized them at a glance:
"The Antimatter Legion!"
They were the followers of the Aeon of Destruction, Nanook, the extinction weapons that destroyed all civilizations!
They believed:
[If you wish to welcome a new life, you must first commit yourself to the end!]
Welt Yang's expression changed slightly, but he immediately regained his calm:
"Don't worry, the situation hasn't spiraled out of control yet."
An invasion of this level was naturally not a problem for the space station or Ms. Herta.
And the Astral Express could also be considered strong reinforcements.
But for the ordinary people inside the space station...
It was a disaster.
Himeko pondered for a moment and looked at Bai Bai Xuan:
"Little Bai Bai Xuan, I'll have to trouble you to keep Pom-Pom company on the train."
"Mr. Yang and I will go stretch our limbs."
Seeing Bai Bai Xuan give an "OK" gesture, Welt Yang nodded gently and walked to the train window, staring at the space station.
The Antimatter Legion's invasion was in full swing, and faint firelight could already be seen.
All they could do now.
Was to pray that more people would survive.
But when he looked up again.
His face turned dark instantly.
Not just him.
The entire crew of the Astral Express, the staff of the Herta Space Station, and even the mastermind behind the Foundation—Bai Bai Xuan.
All of them widened their eyes.
In the image.
That damn "dragon" crashed head-on into the side of the starship, driving it straight into the Herta Space Station.
That "dragon" was no small, cute creature!
It was a planet-killing weapon under the command of the Aeon of Destruction, Nanook!
A Doomsday Beast!
At the moment the starship was attacked and lost control, the entire live stream image distorted slightly as the starship fell.
Welt Yang watched helplessly as the starship rushed toward their direction.
Then it crashed through the bulkhead of the Herta Space Station, and the hull broke apart.
A massive iron ball fell out from within.
The container that held the terrifying containment item!
The Voidrangers of the Antimatter Legion ignored it and continued their invasion inside.
Spreading death and slaughter.
Young lives were cut short, hot blood splattered, and fresh internal organs were spilled all over the floor.
But the next second.
In the horrified eyes of the audience, a black patch suddenly appeared on the lower part of the silver-gray metal ball.
With that as the core, the alloy quickly decayed and rotted.
Immediately after, a highly decayed, pale palm "pushed open" the rotten alloy shell.
At that moment, several Voidrangers happened to run past.
And so, the palm grabbed one of them at random and pulled it into the metal ball.
The image froze for a short while.
Several Voidrangers discovered the anomaly, their arms with scimitars aimed at the metal ball, on high alert.
Not long after, the Voidranger struggled to crawl out.
Its exoskeleton had been highly corroded, and a kind of unknown black slime was wrapped around its head, melting half of its face.
Its abdomen was more than half missing, and one arm had disappeared without a trace.
But before it could get out much, it was pulled back in, and the remaining black slime continued to corrode the floor of the space station.
"Holy sh*t... how can there be such a terrifying thing!"
"Hiss—that's the exoskeleton of a Voidranger, made of antimatter, and it can actually be corroded?!"
"Is that containment item's menu so extensive? Could it be interested in all humanoid life!"
"Revenge! Revenge! Revenge! Kill them! Kill them! Kill them!"
"Come on, kill me, kill them! Let me see my children!"
Madness! Terror! Frenzy!
The survivors of the space station reacted in various ways.
The Old Man was like a spider on a web, sinking its fangs into any life that appeared in its field of vision.
And no matter how the Voidrangers attacked it with long blades or supernatural powers.
Although they could cause damage to its body of rotting flesh, they couldn't kill it.
Even more terrifying was the disgusting black slime, like oil, which adhered to the surface of the Voidrangers and corroded their bodies.
Not long after, the damaged parts of the Old Man recovered to the state of rotting flesh.
Immortal!
Indestructible!
In just a few minutes.
A dozen Voidrangers fell to the ground.
Incapacitated.
Then, the Old Man harvested them one by one, putting them into its pocket dimension.
Strange!
Terrifying!
Incomprehensible!
At the same time, the crew of the Astral Express was on their way to provide support.
Although separated by a screen.
March 7th's face was still pale.
Although those Voidrangers were nothing more than weaklings in her eyes, which she could wipe out with a wave of her hand.
But being attacked by so many Voidrangers at once was also troublesome.
