Chapter 627

"No, that's nine parts wrong! Since the 'Pioneer' civilization eliminated all competitors and potential competitors, where are they? How come only humans are left?"

"Yeah, why did the 'Pioneer' civilization go extinct too?"

【Although it is believed that the mass extinction was caused by "SCP-4138-Fenrir," two near-Earth extraterrestrial planets containing "Lizardman Pioneer" colonies suffered planetary-level disasters during that time period, which had a devastating impact on their ecosystems.】

【Both surfaces are densely covered with huge craters, and their regular characteristics indicate that they suffered at least large-scale orbital bombardment, or super-weapons capable of planetary destruction.】

【Since both target planets belonged to "Pioneer" colonies, there is reason to infer that the "Pioneers" feared future bombardment of Earth.】

【According to the Last Survivor Conjecture, the extinction of the "Pioneer" civilization stemmed from their suicidal attack.】

"!!!"

Bronya swore that she had truly never seen such a scene before.

After the "Pioneer" civilization destroyed other civilizations, it destroyed itself as well.

What kind of Aeon of "Destruction" is this?

Seele was also full of confusion at this time:

"What kind of strange way to die is this..."

"Because they were invincible under heaven, so they died just for fun?"

……

【They simultaneously deployed "SCP-4138-Vidar" and "Fenrir," clearing all intelligent life in the galaxy.】

【The energy used to ensure that "Fenrir" covered the entire galaxy far exceeded the amount that "Vidar," which was Earth-mass, could offset.】

【When "SCP-4138-Fenrir" weakened to the range where "SCP-4138-Vidar," covering Earth, took effect, the Homo sapiens species evolved.】

【"SCP-4138-Vidar's" effect, which has lasted to this day, ensures that humans, unlike the "Lizardman Pioneers," can expand to the entire galaxy without competition.】

【The Foundation has almost no psychological or sociological data on the "Lizardman Pioneers" to explain this behavior.】

【However, from a biological perspective, a powerful instinct exists in all living things to ensure the continued survival of their offspring, even at the cost of their own lives.】

【The extent to which this instinct influenced the "Pioneers'" decision remains inconclusive, and the key motivation for this decision remains the focus of current debate.】

【But regardless, the motto of the Space Exploration and Development Department comes from the final sacrifice of the "Lizardman Pioneers":】

【We shall make our ancestors proud.】 ===== CHAPTER 629 =====
