Chapter 759

This should be in line with the Foundation's containment procedures—regarding how to deal with witnesses at a containment site.

Perhaps, it could even trigger some hidden tasks.

Nothing happened.

There were no hidden tasks, and the "Plague Doctor" didn't move either.

An ordinary family was ordinarily rescued, and ordinary agents ordinarily executed memory erasure.

What exactly should be done...

Just as Asta and "Stelle" were forced to start a zombie-killing game, a translucent dialog box popped up in both of their fields of vision.

【Zhao Xiangji: Hey? Where are you guys? I searched the site, but didn't see your shadows.】

【Floating Xuanbai Heavenly Venerate: Out on field duty, and by the way, looking for where the "Plague Doctor" is. 【Picture】】

In the picture, it was a quiet and peaceful scene, with children playing on the street and a golden retriever lying on the ground sunbathing.

There was no sign of the apocalypse at all.

【Zhao Xiangji: Little Bai, your ID is quite fun... but, looking for "SCP-049" everywhere like this isn't a solution, don't wait until the Divination Commission is ready and we don't even know where the "Plague Doctor" is.】

【Zhao Xiangji: By the way, are Station Master Asta and "Stelle" with you?】

【Floating Xuanbai Heavenly Venerate: No... I'm wondering if they don't know there's an in-team chat function.】

Looking at the messages sent by March 7th and Bai Xuan, "Stelle" and Asta were both a bit overwhelmed; one could imagine that without this function, searching for people all over the world would become a nightmare-like experience.

Seeing "Stelle's" questioning gaze, Asta stuck out her tongue embarrassedly:

"Don't look at me, I really didn't know."

"I only played it once in advance, and I'm not very clear about what functions are in the game."

"Alright then." "Stelle" spread her right hand and emptied the magazine at the wandering zombies.

Don't say, this thing is much easier to use than a baseball bat.

It's just that it would be awkward if there were no bullets.

Taking advantage of the window period, Asta quickly followed suit and sent a message:

【Astronomy Enthusiast: Ah... sorry, just found out there's this function.】

【Astronomy Enthusiast: I'm with "Stelle," and we've already discovered the "Plague Doctor," but there are many zombies here.】

As she spoke, Asta took a bunch of photos of the scene, and specifically circled the "Plague Doctor" in the photos.

【Astronomy Enthusiast: 【Picture】【Picture】【Picture】【Picture】】

【Zhao Xiangji: Station Master Asta and "Stelle" are together... wait, why are there so many agents there... please send your location, I have an idea】

【Astronomy Enthusiast: Location? Let me find it】

【Astronomy Enthusiast: 【Real-time coordinate sharing enabled - Montauban, Southern Falanxi】】

On the other side, Foundation site.

March 7th searched for "Montauban, Southern Falanxi" in the Foundation system.

In the next second, a string of relevant information appeared on the screen.

"Why are they basically all missing person cases..."

March 7th scrolled the page and saw the latest message.

"Oh, then everything makes sense."

【Zhao Xiangji: A series of unexplained missing person cases occurred in Montauban, Southern Falanxi】

【Zhao Xiangji: Foundation high command suspects that this series of unexplained missing person cases is related to anomalies, so they went to conduct surprise inspections on local residents】

【Zhao Xiangji: Uh... could those zombies be the missing people...】

【Trailblazer: So, are there any further instructions, what are we doing next?】

【Floating Xuanbai Heavenly Venerate: Need spoilers?】

【Zhao Xiangji: No, knowing the answer in advance doesn't fit the spirit of "Trailblazing"... Little Bai, take more pictures of the doggies】

【Trailblazer: +1】

【Astronomy Enthusiast: I have an idea, let's clear all the zombies first, and then try to communicate with the "Plague Doctor"】

【Zhao Xiangji: Eh? I thought we were going to kill the "Plague Doctor" first... after all, "capture the ringleader first"...】

【Zhao Xiangji: Little Bai, is this the correct answer?】

【Floating Xuanbai Heavenly Venerate: I just saw a very cute doggy】

"It seems that the white page quality of the cat this time is a bit too much, 1/35 of the amount, just 1/11 more than usual will lead to increased aggression in patients, hmm... let me write it down."

"Elekamimi-aDom(Got it)u... Mita... domu... adada"

The "Plague Doctor" sat on the steps, whispering to himself while taking notes.

After a moment, he nodded, his huge bird-beak mask shaking up and down, seemingly very satisfied.

"Very good."

"Oh! You thugs, be nicer to my patients!"

The "Plague Doctor" roared.

"Patients?" Asta frowned, the answer was already on the tip of her tongue.

But she really didn't expect that the "Plague Doctor" would treat this group of zombies as patients; could it be that the zombies in his eyes looked different?

No matter what the answer was, it didn't hinder her from issuing the general attack order.

—Before the final order was issued, the agents always maintained the greatest degree of restraint, only clearing those zombies that posed an obvious threat.

As for those wandering not far from the "Plague Doctor," they just maintained necessary vigilance.

"Fire!"

In an instant, gunfire erupted, and all the agents present pulled the triggers almost simultaneously.

The regenerative ability of the zombies was indeed terrifying, but in the face of pouring bullets, there was ultimately a limit.

In less than two minutes, all the zombies had turned into rotten meat; although they were still squirming, they could no longer gather into shape and complete regeneration.

"Fine," the "Plague Doctor" sighed and tucked his notebook back into the inner pocket of his cloak.

Then, he picked up the silver-inlaid cane leaning against the wall and tucked it into his waist.

"Time to treat the next patient."

The "Plague Doctor" touched the pendant on his chest, muttered to himself, and walked down the steps.

"Sorry, sir, I'm afraid you'll have to come with us first."

Asta and "Stelle" held their guns vigilantly, leading dozens of agents, surrounding the "Plague Doctor" layer by layer.
