Chapter 33

A large amount of rewards allowed Shen Tianxing's strength to step up to a new level, his Martial Dao Realm rose to Fifth Grade First Layer, and with equipment enhancement it already equaled Sixth Grade Third Layer.

Furthermore, as long as he raises his Martial Dao strength to Fifth Grade Sixth Layer and secures the Vice Commander position, the second stage's main quest is considered completed.

Amidst his excitement, Shen Tianxing slew enemies while hearing the panicked cries of the Great Martial Soldiers, and at the same time examined his gains.

"A level‑3 purple gemstone, when embedded, adds an extra 800 stamina points. A level‑3 green gemstone, when embedded, adds an extra 200 Suodu points."

"Advanced second‑tier troop summoning token, can summon 1000 random second‑tier troops, Martial Dao Realm First Rank Sixth Layer, death cannot be resurrected."

"Special equipment 《Lightning Flash》 gloves, when worn raise all attributes by 10%, attacks carry a paralysis effect, forcibly paralyze anyone whose Martial Dao Realm is below one's own for one second, each strike triggers with no cooldown."

"It also carries the special skill Lightning Flash; when triggered during an attack it can paralyze the opponent for three seconds, ignoring Martial Dao Realm, with a 1% trigger chance and a cooldown of two hours."

"Intermediate lightness skill Treading Water Without Trace: mastering the Entry level permanently increases Suodu by 200 points; each level up permanently increases Suodu by 100 points; the levels are Entry, Skilled, Proficient, Small Success, Great Success."

Besides, the Killing Value surged instantly, with the God Slayer Mask's doubling effect adding a full 130,000. Shen Tianxing immediately chose to embed the level‑3 purple gemstone into the Tiger Head War Helmet.

He also embedded the level‑3 green gemstone into the Swallow Wind Boots, meanwhile removed the level‑2 green gemstone, then put on the Lightning Flash gloves, and only then issued the command to the system.

"System, comprehend the intermediate lightness skill Treading Water Without Trace."

"Congratulations Host, you have successfully comprehended Treading Water Without Trace; would you like to spend 100 Killing Points to raise it to Skilled?"

"Upgrade."

"Congratulations Host, using 100 Killing Points successfully raised Treading Water Without Trace to Skilled; would you like to spend 1000 Killing Points to raise it to Proficient?"

"Yes."

"Congratulations Host, using one thousand Killing Points successfully raised Treading Water Without Trace to Proficient; would you like to spend five thousand Killing Points to raise it to Small Success?"

"Upgrade."

"Congratulations Host, using five thousand Killing Points successfully raised Treading Water Without Trace to Small Success; would you like to spend ten thousand Killing Points to raise it to Great Success?"

"Use to upgrade."

"Congratulations Host, using ten thousand Killing Points successfully raised Treading Water Without Trace to Great Success, permanently increasing Suodu by 600 points."

Apart from the advanced second‑tier troop summoning token which Shen Tianxing temporarily did not use, he used everything else that could be used and upgraded everything that could be upgraded, and his character attributes rose significantly again.

Next, aside from guarding the North City Gate, Shen Tianxing's goal is to become a Commander of the Great Martial army, and also to deal with Sun Tiejun, whose situation is currently unknown; in short, completing this mission perfectly.

While Shen Tianxing displayed his might, gaining a large amount of rewards and his strength surging wildly, Hong Yi on her side also replicated his strength and rushed out amidst the chaotic troops.

Sun Tiejun, who was originally bringing Pan Dongpeng to clear out some stragglers, felt rather bored when suddenly a person rushed out before him, startling him into a stunned stare; he had no time to react, merely letting out an involuntary exclamation.

"Shen Tianxing, how did you end up here?"

Pan Dongpeng and the many Great Zhou soldiers surrounding Sun Tiejun all looked over; they all found it utterly bewildering—the person who rushed out was clearly female by build, her face somewhat ugly, but bore no resemblance to Shen Tianxing at all.

This is one of Hong Yi's functions: it lets a designated person see her transformed appearance, while everyone else sees a different appearance.

"If I weren't here, how could I take your dog's life? Die!"

Hong Yi, disguised as Shen Tianxing, slashed fiercely with a blade, striking squarely at the inner thigh of Sun Tiejun.

"Ah...... my leg, damn Shen Tianxing, I will kill you, ah......"

Because she had replicated Shen Tianxing's attributes, Hong Yi's speed was too great; Sun Tiejun never expected Shen Tianxing to come kill him, so he reacted too late and got hit. As his anguished cry rang out, Hong Yi turned and fled without hesitation.

At that moment Pan Dongpeng and the others finally reacted, hurriedly surrounding Sun Tiejun, while Pan Dongpeng also shouted angrily.

"Soldiers, seize that woman; she wounded the Marshal, kill her."

While speaking, Pan Dongpeng quickly tore off his own robe and rushed over to bandage Sun Tiejun's wound, but Sun Tiejun heard him shout to seize that woman. Instantly furious, he slapped him.

"Are you blind? That's Shen Tianxing; he actually deserted his post and came here to kill me, you bunch of wastes, not a single one of you noticed."

Pan Dongpeng was dazed by that slap; the force was so great it knocked him off his horse. After stumbling up, he covered his face where the big red handprint lay and said pitifully:

"Marshal, where is there any Shen Tianxing? That's just a woman; she must be a spy of the Great Martial army. Everyone saw her."

"Yeah, Marshal, that definitely isn't Shen Tianxing; he's over at the North City Gate right now!"

"Exactly, Marshal, you must be seeing things; Shen Tianxing could never appear here."

The others chimed in, Sun Tiejun's face blackened like a pot bottom; he gritted his teeth, tore off his own robe, and bandaged his thigh!

Then a horse whip lashed the horse's hindquarters, charging after Hong Yi's escape route, and he roared angrily at Pan Dongpeng and the others.

"You bunch of wastes are truly blind; no matter who he is, whoever wants my life, I, the Marshal, will make sure he dies without a burial place—pursue him all of you, I will surely kill him."

Pan Dongpeng and the others stared at each other, seeing Sun Tiejun's hysterical state and all rushing out; they could only helplessly whip their horses and follow behind Sun Tiejun.

At this moment, while Shen Tianxing was conducting the second round of light cavalry summoning charge, he also heard Hong Yi's voice in his ear.

"With one slash I nearly severed that Sun's line of descendants; he is now leading men to hunt me down—I want to bring him to you, so get ready."
