Chapter 132: Conversation Between Old and New Gods (13)
A spacious underwater secret chamber.
Someone carefully crafted a square prison cell from arm-thick purple kryptonite.
The cage held a young woman with dark blue hair and dark blue eyes, her appearance and figure nearly flawless.
Although captured and made a prisoner, and even stripped of all clothing in a humiliating manner, she needed no external adornment; her very body already exuded a solemn, magnificent sacredness, like a sea goddess.
On the woman's face was one part anger, three parts sorrow, and the remaining six parts a calm acceptance of fate.
It seemed she had long anticipated this day's arrival.
At this moment, she curled her long legs, weakly sitting sideways on the icy cold kryptonite floor, her dim yet still splendid eyes gazing at a blond man not far away.
"Mr. La Feng Ge, I ask myself I have not provoked Levinde, and I have always restrained my people, never attacking passing ships."
"I don't understand why you treat my sister so cruelly."
The blond man who called out to La Feng Ge looked about forty, wearing a dark gold luxurious robe, his head adorned with a Levinde-style square-topped round-bottomed rune-patterned hat.
He sat in a large leather chair, with a desk beside him and a bookshelf set into the stone wall.
The bookshelf was full of books, while the desk had two exquisitely crafted rune pistols fixed to it.
One pistol's muzzle pointed at the secret chamber door over twenty meters away, the other aimed at the kryptonite prison cage holding the 'goddess'.
In his hand he held a cup of emerald-green wine, leisurely swinging his legs crossed.
"Your Majesty, to be honest, I feel sorry for you and your people, but I must do this."
The woman slowly shook her head.
"Nothing in the world is obligatory; it all depends on which path you choose. Clearly, you have embarked on a cruel, heartless demon's road."
La Feng Ge shrugged: "Your Majesty, the greatest flaw of your demon folk is being too pure and too antiquated. But this world is extremely complex, and growing more so."
"In this world there are no purely good people, nor purely bad people."
"I have indeed been cruel and heartless toward your demon folk somewhat, but I have poured all my love into my people and my son."
Having said that, he paused, then took a sip of wine.
"Your Majesty, stop resisting; if you tell me all the secrets of the Azure Blessing, I will make you my son's wife, the queen of Levinde."
The woman looked puzzled: "Does the Azure Blessing really have such great value? Worth exchanging a queen's position for?"
"The Azure Blessing itself certainly isn't that valuable, but it contains the secret of remolding bloodlines, which is extremely valuable."
"As for the queen, my son's physique is somewhat frail; I think he may not live long, so I want a healthy, strong wife to bear him several healthy, strong children."
"Clearly, Your Majesty may be the healthiest woman in this world."
As he spoke, La Feng Ge narrowed his eyes at the beautiful woman, his gaze lingering on her towering snow-white peaks, a hint of obsession in his eyes.
His words sounded normal, but the woman heard a hidden meaning in his tone: "La Feng Ge, do you intend to regicide?"
La Feng Ge grinned: "What sovereign? That's my son; his life is mine to give. Since I gave it, I can of course take it away anytime."
"Aren't you afraid of suffering divine punishment from the Nature God?"
"I am afraid, which is why I study the Azure Blessing, to better disguise myself as having the Nature God's bloodline."
"To be honest, this is really not easy; I have so far made no breakthrough progress, forced daily to face an obstinate, foolish old thing."
The woman looked at La Feng Ge with shocked eyes: "I simply cannot imagine what else in this world you would dare not do."
La Feng Ge smirked, then suddenly raised his hand, condensing a strand of brilliant ice crystal at his fingertips.
"There are no gods in the world; the so-called deities now are all cowardly ignorant mortals who have kneaded them into being with their own knees."
"You are not a god either; you are merely a mortal who fortunately inherited ancestral glory and fortunately gained the Creator's favor."
"My power has already broken through to Six Rings; I also believe I can break through to Seven Rings, even Eight Rings. By then I will be the god of the new era."
"I understand the arcane knowledge of the new era, I control a vast kingdom, so my power is far greater and more terrifying than those ignorant savage gods of antiquity!"
Having said that, La Feng Ge suddenly looked toward the kryptonite prison.
"If you refuse, it's actually nothing; in fact I would even hope you refuse."
"Because I have found a secret method that lets one break through high-ring power, and this method requires the soul of a high-ring mage as a medium."
"What I lack most now is precisely the soul of a high-ring mage, and you, you happen to meet my requirement, hahaha~~"
La Feng Ge burst into laughter, his face filled with near-manic triumph.
The woman's face showed no fear, instead pity: "La Feng Ge, don't put on an act in front of me."
"Pure Water told me you may indeed have found some high-ring breaking secret arts, but this secret art is not mature, right?"
La Feng Ge startled, then laughed: "Well, truly no wonder you are the great Majesty Na Fei Luo Ni Ya; your fine perception of Pure Water truly commands my utmost admiration."
"You guessed right; it's indeed not yet mature, but every arcane art of the new era progresses step by step from immature to mature."
"I will swiftly perfect the secret method through repeated experiments; believe me, it won't take long, perhaps just a few years."
"By then, not only will I break through to high ring, I will also mass-produce many Four-ring and Five-ring arcane experts in my kingdom."
"Even if the Nature God's divine punishment truly came, even if Mother Nature herself came to punish me, my army of mages could turn her into laughable ashes in an instant!"
The woman called Na Fei Luo Ni Ya shook her head with a light smile, her sympathy deepening: "La Feng Ge, you use arrogance to mask your inner fear."
"Bang!"
La Feng Ge fiercely flung his wine cup to the ground, his face showing a ruthless expression.
"Your Majesty, I hate seeing pity on your face; when I split your soul, I hope you can still manage a smile!"
Na Fei Luo Ni Ya softly sighed: "You are truly a full-blown demon, but I don't understand: since you intend for me to be your son's queen, why don't you send me away instead of locking me up in this secret place?"
La Feng Ge hehe-smiled, his gaze slowly wandering over the woman's near-divine perfect body, his greed no longer concealable.
"Because Your Majesty is too wild and too unruly, I fear my son cannot handle her."
"So I plan to first properly train Your Majesty, and incidentally test the goods for my son, haha~~"
Na Fei Luo Ni Ya sighed again, her sorrowful expression deepening: "I never imagined I would actually endure such a tragic fate."
"Our ancestors surely never imagined the world would become what it is today."
So, for the fate of my sisters, and for my own fate, I must make a change.
Having said that, the queen of the demons strained her arms to support her body, and with difficulty stood up in the cage.
She squeezed her ample chest into the gap of the iron cage, deforming it severely. Her face full of sorrow: 'Mr. La Fengge, as long as you let my sisters go, I'll do anything.'
La Fengge stared unblinking at the deformed peak in the cage gap, the corner of his mouth involuntarily curling up.
Your Majesty, you're right to think that.
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly felt something amiss.
Immediately, in his peripheral vision he saw a crystalline blue water membrane burst forth from the stone cavern behind him, and at the same time a black shadow swiftly approached him.
Its speed was astonishingly fast.
Ambushed, he was greatly startled.
But he was indeed a strong person.
The moment he sensed something abnormal, he began to react.
His magical energy immediately wrapped around the firearm pointed at the secret chamber door, activating it.
Boom~~
The firearm roared, spewing a large quantity of anti-magic gold bullets violently toward the black shadow.
Plop~
The black shadow burst with a spray of blood, his whole body shuddered violently, and he immediately toppled to the ground.
La Fengge's mind relaxed slightly, but he immediately sensed something was wrong.
Because beside the black shadow there was another black shadow, more concealed and faster, already having rushed six meters away! 'Oh no, Puppet Art!'
In the nick of time, La Fengge's thoughts flashed like lightning; his magical energy surged, using the pure magical water he carried, instantly condensing countless hard ice spikes that shot toward the second black shadow lunging at him.
Six Rings Frost Art: Ice Crystal Storm.
The black shadow's speed is indeed very fast, but this move of his specifically counters fast targets.
And he believed this move would definitely make the opponent suffer greatly, possibly killing him on the spot.
At the same time, he went to take another rune firearm from the table.
But in the next instant, he realized he had miscalculated.
He saw the black shadow pass through the ice spikes; though the spikes were harder than steel and formed rapidly on his body, they caused no damage at all, instead shattering into fine ice powder.
In such a clash of experts, a single miscalculation leaves no chance.
In an instant, the black shadow crossed the final distance, lunged before him, one hand pressing down to seize his rune firearm, the other swinging at La Fengge's cheek.
Puff—bang!
La Fengge felt his cheek go numb violently, being struck solidly by a slap.
The Six Rings-triggered crystal lattice artifact Frost Armor he carried was indeed activated, and a large amount of ice-blue frost power appeared on his body's surface, but the Frost Armor was directly shattered by the opponent's slap, serving no protective function.
Intense pain surged to his heart, all thoughts in his mind were interrupted by the pain, a flash of white light crossed his vision, and his whole body quickly flipped over on the ground.
Immediately afterward, he felt a large, hard boot stepping on his cheek with great force, making him feel his skull might be crushed at any moment.
Thus he dared not make any abnormal movement.
A low, slightly hoarse old man's voice entered his ears.
'Mr. La Fengge, I've long heard of your name, but I never expected we would meet in such a setting, under such circumstances.'
La Fengge's face was stepped on, his view blocked by the sole, so he could not see the opponent's appearance.
'Who are you?!'
'The guardian of Her Majesty Nefeloniya.'
La Fengge's heart sank instantly: 'How did you break through my frost barrier?'
A light laugh came from above.
'Your frost barrier is indeed exquisite; it took me considerable effort to discover how to dispel it.'
'But perhaps your progress is too fast, or your mind is too restless, leaving no time to carefully study your magic, so although your magic is exquisite, it still has some loopholes.'
'Impossible, I've tried countless mages; none could dispel my magic seal, not even I myself!'
'Then you probably haven't tried a Seven Rings mage, right?'
La Fengge immediately replied: 'Old-era high-circle mages? They can't solve it either; they don't even understand mathematics!'
'What about the new-era high-circle mages?'
La Fengge's heart jolted violently, an uncontrollable surge of jealousy rose: 'How did you manage that?'
'I won't tell you!'
La Fengge felt like vomiting blood.
He then heard the opponent ask: 'Your Majesty Nefeloniya, what do you think I should do with him?'
These words made La Fengge feel as if his heart had died, for he had thoroughly angered Nefeloniya, and without thinking he knew how she would treat him.
Immediately, he heard Nefeloniya say: 'He is your prisoner; dispose of him as you wish.'
These words gave La Fengge hope, and he shouted urgently.
'Hero, as long as you spare me, I can give you anything you want!'
He didn't know if it would help, but this was the only thing he could do now.
Meanwhile, Luosen stepped on La Fengge's head, pondering how to maximize his gain.
Simply stepping on him to kill would be too cheap for this guy, and would waste this adventure of mine.
After a brief thought, he had an idea.
He feigned ignorance, asking: 'Ice Envoy La Fengge, your duty is to assist the King of Levinde, right?'
La Fengge immediately admitted: 'That's right; if you kill me, you'll have to bear the king's vengeful wrath!'
"But you just said that Levinde's king is your son—is that true or false?"
Upon hearing these words, La Fengge's heart instantly filled with great hatred.
He hated himself so much he wanted to tear his own mouth apart!
