Chapter 401: Sowing Discord

~4 min read 635 words

Koala.

Seeing Koala's flustered expression, Lin Yu chuckled lightly.

The question he had just asked actually hid a trap: he had directly assumed that the Duolage Society would step forward for Straw Hat Luffy and make an enemy of him, thereby setting Duolage and the Revolutionary Army against each other.

It was precisely this opposition that left Koala stuck in an impossible dilemma with no way to choose.

If Robin and Vivi were here, they would have spotted the trap in his words at once. Unfortunately, Koala absolutely couldn't pick up on it—otherwise she wouldn't be wearing that dumbfounded, utterly played expression.

After waiting a few minutes, Lin Yu took another sip of tea, then looked at Koala and smiled:

"It seems Miss Koala also believes the Revolutionary Army is Monkey D. Duolage's Revolutionary Army. I think I know how I should treat the Revolutionary Army now."

Hearing Lin Yu's words, Koala was instantly startled and shouted directly:

"No, the Revolutionary Army is the Revolutionary Army's Revolutionary Army. It belongs to no one now, and it will not belong to anyone in the future."

The Revolutionary Army exists to resist the Celestial Dragons and liberate slaves; it is not anyone's private army. If anyone tries to drag the Revolutionary Army into a personal grudge, Koala absolutely will not agree.

Koala had joined the Revolutionary Army because of her benefactor Fisher Tiger, wanting to inherit his will to liberate slaves and create a world where everyone is equal. She absolutely would not allow the Revolutionary Army to become someone's private army.

Absolutely not allowed!!!

Gazing at the firm look in Koala's eyes, Lin Yu took a sip of tea and said softly:

"Miss Koala, although I would very much like to believe in your resolve, the Revolutionary Army is not yours to decide."

"The leader of the Revolutionary Army, Duolage, is Straw Hat Luffy's father, and the second-in-command, Staff Sabo, is Straw Hat Luffy's second brother. They won't be like you, unwilling to get involved in the dispute between me and Straw Hat Luffy."

Hearing this, Koala instantly wilted, because she knew Lin Yu was stating a fact.

Sabo had already made it clear that this brother, Straw Hat Luffy, he would protect to the very end.

After a period of silence, Koala finally spoke:

"Mr. Lin Yu, as a God-Slayer who resists the Celestial Dragons, why must you make things difficult for Straw Hat Luffy and the others?"

If Lin Yu stopped targeting Straw Hat Luffy, Koala felt she might be able to get both sides to shake hands and make peace, joining forces to overthrow the Celestial Dragons.

Lin Yu glanced at Koala and said, somewhat amused:

"Straw Hat Luffy is a pirate who wants to become the Pirate King. So if I kill pirates, do I need any reason?"

"In my view, the Celestial Dragons are evil, and pirates are equally evil—there is no difference between the two. Although I know I probably can't kill all the evil in the world."

"But every one I encounter, I will kill one. The world will be a little better for it."

After speaking, Lin Yu picked up his teacup again and took a sip.

Koala was a member of the Revolutionary Army, so naturally she had to display her sense of justice to appeal to him.

Of course, these words from Lin Yu weren't just empty talk either.

Although he liked to do as he pleased, he did not enjoy harming the common people. If he could, he did not mind, along the path of satisfying his own ambitions, securing a little well-being for the people and indulging his vanity of "opening a peaceful age for all generations."

The title of Holy King does sound a bit better than the title of Tyrant, doesn't it?
