Chapter 67

"Hmm, if that's the case, let's wait until Kaya and the others finish watching the giant's duel, then we'll set off."

Lin Yu buried his face against Reijiu's neck, inhaling her scent, and smiled as he spoke.

They had already established good relations with the two giants still dueling, Tonjit and Brogy, and were invited by both to watch their duel.

Kaya, Anna, and the others, who had never seen giants before, naturally accepted gladly and were currently outside watching the two duel.

Sensing Lin Yu's change, Reijiu blushed, stepped down from him, and tried to wipe his sword using Machino's method.

In the past, Reijiu would never have done such things.

But now, as long as Lin Yu was happy, she was more than willing to do them.

After her mother's death, Reijiu was treated by Gaji as a tool, and around her, besides servants, were three emotionless brothers.

This left Reijiu, who possessed feelings but was powerless to change her fate, living in constant loneliness.

Until she met Lin Yu, and was utterly conquered by him.

When the giant's duel ended, Lin Yu's sword had already been wiped clean by Reijiu.

The group reunited and began heading toward Alabasta.

After sailing for a while, Lin Yu and the others arrived at Drum Kingdom.

Thinking of Chopper's "Blue Ball" miracle drug, Lin Yu sought out the witch Dori.

He hoped to obtain her medical notes and the recipe for the Blue Ball.

Under Kaya's adorable assault, Witch Dori instantly surrendered, treating Kaya as her own granddaughter and personally teaching her Medical Arts.

Lin Yu knew Witch Dori's Medical Arts were superb; this was a rare opportunity for Kaya, so he docked in Drum Kingdom for two days.

While Kaya was learning Medical Arts from Witch Dori.

Lin Yu, who was training Anna and the others, was stunned as a literal cake fell from the sky and hit him in the face.

This cake was the former king of Drum Kingdom, White Iron Wapol, who possessed the Gomu Gomu no Mi.

After being knocked away by Straw Hat Luffy, Wapol's kingship was overthrown by the people of Drum Kingdom.

His pirate atrocities were exposed, drawing the Navy's pursuit; he hid and wandered across Drum Kingdom, waiting for an opportunity to escape and rebuild his power.

So when Wapol saw Lin Yu's ship docked at Drum Kingdom's shore, unguarded, he set his sights on the Shen Nu.

Then...

Then there was no more.

Just as Wapol boarded the ship, planning to sneak away with the Shinryu, he was spotted by Reijiu, who had been staying behind on the Shinryu and designing underwater combat suits in the lab.

Reijiu was furious at Wapol's theft.

Reijiu fully understood the importance of the Shen Nu to Lin Yu.

That Lin Yu entrusted her alone with such a vital ship, in Reijiu's eyes, meant Lin Yu placed great trust in her.

And Reijiu did not wish to betray that trust.

Thus, she was extraordinarily enraged by Wapol's actions.

Reijiu, acting in fury, gave Wapol no chance to plead.

One move—a mass toxic paralysis—followed by a single slash to the neck.

Reijiu had just killed Wapol.

On the other side, Lin Yu instantly received a notification.

【Ding! Killed Captain of the White Iron Pirate Crew. You may automatically claim his treasure and bounty, or decline the treasure to obtain his Devil Fruit.】

【Ding! Paramecia: Gomu Gomu no Mi, value 370 million Berries... requires payment...】

【......】

Looking at the Devil Fruit in his hand.

Honestly, Lin Yu was stunned.

He had done nothing—just sat outside Witch Dori's castle, watching girls in bikinis play beach volleyball by the fire.

And yet he'd just received a Devil Fruit.

And not just any—this was the Gomu Gomu no Mi, with the special ability to synthesize Wapol Alloy.

Wapol Metal is a type of memory alloy, extremely expensive; this material can also be used by Germa technology to manufacture combat suits.

Lin Yu already had Reijiu, who could produce scientific combat suits; with the Gomu Gomu no Mi now in his possession.

This meant he could potentially mass-produce Germa technology's scientific combat suits.

"Young Master!"

Anna's call pulled Lin Yu's thoughts back.

Putting the Devil Fruit into his extradimensional storage box, Lin Yu looked up at Anna and Sharulya, dressed in bikinis, playing beach volleyball in the snow, and asked, puzzled:

"What's wrong?"
