Chapter 263: Operation Homebound

One hour later, the students of Jiangcai Camp returned to the camp one after another.

Zhan Ye stood in front of the crowd with a cold expression.

"The rats who stole the information this time have been caught. However, I regret to inform you that the information of 22 students has been leaked!"

"What? Leaked? Which 22 people?" The crowd immediately became nervous, fearing it might be them.

Zhan Ye took out a list and began to call names one by one.

The students whose names were called had extremely ugly expressions.

"What do these bastards want to do?"

"If anything happens to my parents, I will definitely kill them!"

The crowd was agitated.

Zhan Ye said coldly: "The identity information of my Jiangcai Camp students is a military secret; once leaked, the impact is immense."

"I have already requested instructions from my superiors, and we are now forming 22 special combat teams to head to all parts of the country to transfer the families of these 22 students to our Zhenyuan Army's military family quarters."

"The code name for this operation is Homebound!"

"Next, I will start calling names; the students called will participate in this operation!"

"Yes!" The crowd responded one after another.

Soon, Chen Fan was also called; he was assigned to a team with Zhan Le and two others.

After Zhan Ye put down the list in his hand, he said: "You 22 teams will choose your own captains, then depart immediately."

The four of them, Chen Fan and his group, quickly gathered together; besides Zhan Le, the other two were Qi Yuan and Li Wenzhao.

Among them, Qi Yuan was one of the 22 people whose information was stolen.

His expression was somewhat ugly.

"Brother Zhan, Brother Li, Brother Chen Fan, I'm troubling you all this time."

Zhan Le patted his shoulder and said: "We are all comrades-in-arms, why be so polite."

Qi Yuan and Li Wenzhao looked at Zhan Le: "Brother Zhan, how about you serve as the captain for this operation?"

Zhan Le shook his head and said: "I am not suitable; let Brother Chen Fan serve."

"Oh?" The two were immediately surprised.

Zhan Le smiled: "Brother Chen exceeds me in both wisdom and martial strength; I am convinced if he is the captain."

The two looked at Chen Fan with disbelief in their eyes.

Zhan Le's strength was good, and his seniority in Jiangcai Camp was older than both of them, yet Chen Fan had gained his approval just after arriving; this was indeed very surprising.

Zhan Le looked at Chen Fan and said: "Brother Chen, will you be the captain? How about it?"

After Chen Fan pondered slightly, he nodded and agreed. This mission seemed simple, but in reality, it contained many variables. He was truly uneasy about someone else serving as captain.

"Brother Qi, Brother Li, what are your Otherworldly Abilities? How is your combat power? Tell me, so I can have an idea," Chen Fan asked.

After Qi Yuan and Li Wenzhao looked at each other, Qi Yuan said: "I'll say it. I am a Sixth-rank Initial Stage Light Element Ability user, and my combat power can reach the Tier 6 Late Stage, close to the peak. Brother Li is a Sixth Stage Mid Phase Beast Transformation System ability user, Bone Armor Demon Bear, and his combat power can reach the Sixth-Order Peak."

Chen Fan nodded. With three Sixth-Order Peak combat powers and one Tier 6 Late Stage combat power among the four of them, as long as they didn't encounter a Grandmaster, this mission shouldn't be difficult.

Zhan Le introduced to Chen Fan again: "Brother Chen, this is your first mission, so there are some rules you might not be clear about. Let me tell you."

"When on a mission, you must conceal your identity as a Jiangcai Camp student. Externally, our identities are ordinary officers of the Zhenyuan Army. Your officer ID should still be with the instructor; you need to go get it first."

"Alright, then you all wait for me a moment." After saying this, Chen Fan hurried to find Zhan Ye.

Zhan Ye handed the officer ID to Chen Fan: "It was just processed this morning. The military rank is Senior Colonel. Remember to keep it safe and don't lose it."

"Senior Colonel rank?" Chen Fan was shocked. This was almost the ceiling for ordinary Warriors; any higher and it would be Major General.

"Don't be surprised. As long as you enter Jiangcai Camp, you are a Senior Colonel. If you achieve the status of Grandmaster and graduate from Jiangcai Camp, then you are a General and will be awarded the rank of Major General."

Put that way, Chen Fan felt it should be so.

These students in Jiangcai Camp were all elite soldiers from various places with many Military Merits, so their own military ranks were not low. Plus, many were Sixth-Order Peak combatants, so awarding the rank of Senior Colonel was not excessive.

After getting his officer ID, Chen Fan and the three others boarded a military vehicle together.

Zhan Le sat beside Chen Fan: "Qi Yuan's hometown is in Sichuan Province. The journey is long. On this trip, we must first head to a nearby military airport, then take a plane directly to Sichuan Province!"

"Sichuan Province?" Chen Fan couldn't help but be stunned. Cat Girl, Yang Chuchu, and the Valkyrie Yan Yuehua were all in Sichuan Province. He didn't know if he would have a chance to visit them on this trip.

At this time, Qi Yuan was clearly somewhat nervous and uneasy.

The group comforted him: "Don't worry. The camp has already notified the local military region in advance to provide military protection for your parents. We will definitely be able to pick them up smoothly!"

The planes parked at the military airport were not large because there wouldn't be many people on board.

After boarding the plane to Sichuan Province, five hours later, they landed smoothly in Sichuan Province.

Qi Yuan made a call to his parents at the first opportunity. After confirming the other party was safe, he finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Mom, Dad, my teammates and I will be home in two hours by car," Qi Yuan smiled. He was very happy to see his parents.

"Okay, okay, son. Mom and Dad will prepare a meal in a moment. It just so happens that two local soldiers are here too," the joyful voices of Qi Yuan's parents came from the other end of the phone.

After hanging up, Qi Yuan's parents hurriedly poured tea for the two soldiers in front of them.

These two were the soldiers guarding an Other-dimensional Space Entrance in Sichuan Province; they were ordered to come and protect Qi Yuan's parents.

Although the two were Fifth-tier Ability Users, they appeared somewhat flattered.

"Uncle, where is your son serving? His military rank shouldn't be low, right? Being able to mobilize military protection is not an ordinary person."

Qi Yuan's parents smiled: "To tell you the truth, we don't know where he is serving now. Every time we ask, he says the organization's rules don't allow him to say. Since it's the organization's rules, we don't ask."

The two soldiers looked at each other, unable to help but be astonished. Not even allowed to say where he is serving? It's likely only one of those legendary gathering places for elite soldiers.

Mother Qi stood up and said: "You sit, I'll go prepare the meal."

It was a two-hour drive from the airport to Qi Yuan's hometown. Qi Yuan slammed on the accelerator the whole way, and surprisingly arrived home in one hour and ten minutes.

However, when everyone returned home, their expressions changed wildly.

At this moment, the two soldiers' hearts had been pierced, and they lay on the ground, having already lost their signs of life.

Inside the room, however, Qi Yuan's parents were nowhere to be seen.

"Where are my mom and dad? Were they kidnapped?" Qi Yuan's face turned deathly pale instantly, and he began to lose control of his emotions.

With bloodthirsty eyes, he rushed out of the room with a boom and dashed downstairs, clearly wanting to see if the enemy had gone far.

Chen Fan leaned over the corpses of the two Warriors to observe them for a moment, his expression turning grim.

"These two were subdued instantly; they didn't even let out a scream, there is no terror in their eyes, and there are no signs of a struggle in the room. Even I could not achieve such a method of killing; the person who struck might be a Grandmaster!"

Zhan Le nodded from the side, signaling his agreement.

Chen Fan hurriedly ordered: "Brother Li, go watch over Qi Yuan and don't let him do anything rash. Brother Zhan, observe the surroundings and see if there is anything unusual."

"Understood!" The two hurried off to carry out the orders.

Chen Fan continued to observe the wounds of the two, hoping to deduce the opponent's Otherworldly Ability from them.

However, it was a pity that the wounds on the two were caused by a blunt object, leaving not a single trace of an Otherworldly Ability.
