At 1:30 in the afternoon, Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu arrived at the Real Estate Bureau right on time; looking at the bustling hall inside, Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu suddenly felt a bit anxious.

However, before they could steady their emotions, a phone call came through.

"Hello, are you Mr. Zhang Sicheng?" A female voice came from the other end of the phone.

"I am. May I ask who you are?"

"I am Meng Xin, the real estate agent. Mr. Zhang Ran is currently queuing inside, and it will be our turn soon. Have you arrived?" Meng Xin said.

"We are already at the entrance."

"I am at the entrance too. Please wave your hand—okay, I see you."

Meng Xin came before Zhang Sicheng, "You are Mr. Zhang Sicheng, right?"

"Yes, I am."

"Please come with me, it will be our turn soon." Meng Xin was actually a bit curious in her heart, but at this moment she wouldn't be foolish enough to ask questions she shouldn't; everything would have to wait until everything was finished.

Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu followed Meng Xin forward, unsure for a moment how to start asking about the situation, until finally, Liu Lu took the initiative to ask.

"Miss Meng, is this for transferring a property?" Liu Lu asked with a look of trepidation.

Meng Xin was very surprised by her question, "Of course. Didn't Mr. Zhang Ran tell you?"

After receiving confirmation from Meng Xin, Liu Lu was first dazed and then pleasantly surprised; so Zhang Ran had really helped them buy a house, the matter was actually true!

After she came back to her senses, she asked nervously, "Then how much is the house, and how much is the monthly mortgage payment?"

This was actually their big problem; her and Zhang Sicheng's salaries were not considered very high, enough to live in the city of Shanghai, but they couldn't save much money.

If a high mortgage were added on top of that, their monthly standard of living would plummet once again.

Meng Xin was even more confused; she now suspected she might have picked up the wrong people.

"Mr. Zhang Ran paid in full; there is no mortgage."

At this, Liu Lu and Zhang Sicheng were completely stunned; they truly hadn't expected Zhang Ran to help them buy a house with a full payment. One had to know this was Shanghai, where a sixty or seventy-square-meter apartment cost three or four million.

Moreover, at the Real Estate Bureau of this district, it proved the house was right here, so the price wouldn't be too cheap, with housing prices around fifty thousand or so.

Had Zhang Ran taken all his money out to help them buy a house?

For a moment, Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu didn't know what to say; they had an indescribable feeling toward this father and father-in-law who had suddenly popped up.

The sense of alienation Zhang Sicheng originally felt toward Zhang Ran seemed to have disappeared a little.

Although money played a part in this, it was more about Zhang Ran being willing to take out his "entire" savings to help him buy a house, and it was even registered in his name—how could such a thing leave Zhang Sicheng unmoved?

Some say money isn't everything, but it cannot be denied that money really can solve the vast majority of things.

From then on, Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu didn't know how the transfer was handled; they just followed Meng Xin and the others, doing whatever they were told. At this moment, their minds were a complete blank.

When all the procedures were finished, Liu Lu held the slip for picking up the property deed and the keys to the house in her hand, and only then did she slightly return to her senses.

Zhang Ran had also finished the handover with the landlord; from this moment on, this house belonged to the couple, Zhang Sicheng and his wife.

"The property deed will be ready in about ten days; I will call to notify you to come and get it then," Meng Xin said to Zhang Sicheng.

"Thank you." Zhang Sicheng didn't know how to express the emotions in his heart at this moment.

After Meng Xin and the others left, Zhang Sicheng looked at Zhang Ran and pursed his lips, but in the end, he still didn't know how to speak.

"Alright, the business is finished, you two go back to work; don't be late." Zhang Ran actually understood their feelings at this moment very well.

After all, they had originally had no hope of buying a house in Shanghai and had completely given up, but suddenly a house had been dropped on them—how could there be no ripples in their hearts?

And Zhang Ran actually didn't know how to tell them either—should he say, "Zhang Sicheng, you are actually a super rich second generation"?

Although Zhang Ran would definitely explain everything to Zhang Sicheng, now was not the time.

Let Zhang Sicheng feel gratitude toward him?

That wasn't what Zhang Ran needed; what he needed was the kind of family affection between father and son.

After Zhang Ran left, Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu looked at each other, both looking blankly at the slip and keys in their hands.

Actually, until now, they didn't know where their house was or how large its area was; they had been in a daze the whole time, they didn't even know how much tax Zhang Ran had paid, let alone pay attention to those details.

Only at this moment did they look carefully.

"Azure Garden? 143 square meters?" Seeing the residential complex and the area, the two were stunned again.

Actually, they had thought it would be 90 square meters, a small three-bedroom layout, but they hadn't expected it to be a large 143-square-meter unit.

Because only the area for the property deed was written here, they didn't yet know about the two-story basement and the one-hundred-square-meter garden.

Not knowing what kind of psychology was at play, neither of them was in a hurry to go see the house, but instead, just as Zhang Ran had told them, they each went back to work.

When Liu Lu returned to the hospital, she truly came back to her senses; she really had a house of her own in Shanghai, and she and Zhang Sicheng truly had a home.

For a moment, Liu Lu suddenly had an urge to cry.

For so many years, ever since she and Zhang Sicheng got married, she hadn't actually had a stable home; she and Zhang Sicheng had actually been drifting in Shanghai the whole time.

For so many years, she and Zhang Sicheng had moved house constantly for various reasons, and every time they looked for those cheap, old residential complexes.

They just wanted to save money, they just wanted to have a real home, a place where they could sleep soundly at night without worrying about being kicked out by the landlord the next day.

Even though they actually knew that with their current salaries, wanting to settle down in Shanghai was simply wishful thinking.

But this had always been their dream!

Even knowing this dream was out of reach, it had still remained deep in the bottom of their hearts.

And now, suddenly, they truly had a home! This gave Liu Lu a feeling of unreality.

Just as Liu Lu was still in a daze, the head nurse happened to pass by and, seeing the slip in her hand, looked at it curiously.

Along the way, Liu Lu had been like someone possessed, holding this slip for the property deed tightly the whole time without putting it away.

"Hmm? Liu Lu, did you buy a house?" the head nurse said in surprise.

This exclamation woke Liu Lu up and also attracted quite a few nurses who had nothing to do; everyone gathered around one after another.

Weren't you worried about renting a house yesterday? How did you buy one today?

These nurses were also very curious about how things had changed so quickly.
