The next day, after Zhang Ran woke up, he felt a bit crowded; turning his head, he discovered that Susu and Taotao were both sleeping leaning against him. Taotao was restless in his sleep, draping his little leg over Zhang Ran's stomach.

At this moment, the two little ones were sleeping so sweetly that Zhang Ran couldn't bear to disturb them.

Last night, the two little ones had affectionately stayed by his side the whole time, so they ended up staying to sleep there as well.

He got out of bed cautiously, but the two little ones were already mostly done sleeping, and they woke up at the slightest movement.

Zhang Ran helped the two little ones up one by one, then they washed up together. When they arrived in the living room, they found that Huo Zhiyuan had already prepared breakfast.

"Uncle Zhang, Uncle Yin arrived an hour ago," He Qing reported.

Yin Long had been transferred over by Zhang Ran a few days ago to represent Galaxy Capital in negotiating some matters.

For the past two days, Yin Long had also started to move around a bit here, and now that Zhang Ran had arrived, he had come over to report on what he had found.

Zhang Ran nodded and said, "Let him in."

As He Qing walked out, she saw Yin Long and He Yong chatting happily; the two were squatting at the doorway, smoking and chatting.

"Xiao Qing, is Brother Zhang up?" Yin Long asked.

"He's up, he wants you to go over," He Qing said.

He Yong threw away the cigarette butt in his hand and said, "Let's go, let's head in."

At Wang Chao's house.

At this moment, Wang Chao had also just woken up, feeling a splitting headache. After getting out of bed, there was no one else in the house.

Meanwhile, the living room and the areas outside had already been tidied up.

Seeing all this, a smile appeared on Wang Chao's face; she truly was his "little padded jacket," even cleaning all this up for him.

It was obviously Wang Ya who had cleaned up; as for Liao Wei? There was no need to even think about it.

He went to the table, where there was a note instructing him that there was porridge in the pot for him to drink when he woke up, and also a reminder not to drink too much again.

Drinking the porridge his daughter had specially prepared for him, Wang Chao felt warm in his stomach, and his heart felt warm too.

However, thinking about how much he had actually drunk last night, Wang Chao couldn't quite remember; he had blacked out.

After finishing the porridge and breakfast, Wang Chao tidied things up and incidentally cleaned up the places Wang Ya hadn't finished tidying.

Finally, he looked at the address Wang Ya had left behind; it was the address of the hotel where Zhang Ran was currently staying.

"Brother Ran, are you up?" Wang Chao called Zhang Ran's phone.

Zhang Ran laughed and said, "I haven't been up long."

"Then I'll come find you. You're not busy these next few days, right?" Wang Chao said.

Zhang Ran looked at Yin Long beside him and said with a smile, "Not busy."

"Then listen to my arrangements. I'll take you out for a good time, and in a couple of days, I'll take Xiaoting to tour the universities here and let her choose for herself," Wang Chao briefly explained his plan.

Zhang Ran said, "You handle the arrangements."

"Alright, then I'm coming to find you now." After Wang Chao finished speaking, he hung up the phone, then checked his current funds and credit card, feeling that it should be enough.

Ever since the last time, Wang Chao had started saving money subconsciously.

In the past, apart from subsidizing some household expenses, his earnings all went to his daughter; he only kept a little for emergencies each month, and there wasn't much left.

Wang Ya wouldn't take Liao Wei's money, and Wang Chao couldn't watch Wang Ya suffer, so he gave her every cent he had.

The key was that Wang Ya's personality was too stubborn; she had never accepted the money Liao Wei gave her. If Liao Wei really lost her temper and insisted on giving it, Wang Ya wouldn't say much, but she would take it and not spend it, saving it all in one card.

"Thirty thousand US dollars, and the credit card has a limit of about one hundred thousand; that should be enough," Wang Chao muttered to himself.

The thirty thousand US dollars was what he had frugally saved up himself over these many years; he rarely used his credit card, but the limit was not low.

This was the first time in many years he had seen his old friends, and it was Zhang Ran, the brother who had always looked after him in the past, so he was absolutely willing to spend the money.

Moreover, Wang Chao did not place much importance on the concept of money.

Unlike Zhang Ran, who only didn't care about money because he had too much of it.

Wang Chao himself simply didn't care about money; he valued family more, but this family, even though he had gone to great lengths to maintain it, was almost on the verge of collapse.

It was likely at Liao Wei's limit now; Wang Ya was already an adult, had graduated, and had stepped into the workforce.

At this point, Liao Wei had already fulfilled her promise, and Wang Chao was not prepared to drag it out any longer.

The child had grown up, had her own thoughts, and even more, had her own life; her worldview, outlook on life, and values had all taken shape.

She no longer needed this seemingly perfect family to guide her in anything.

"After Brother Ran and the others leave, I'll resolve this matter. After such a long time, I'm tired too," Wang Chao sighed.

After all this time, Wang Chao was truly tired from trying to maintain the family.

He cared about the family, and cared even more about whether the child had a complete family; this was his bottom line.

He did not want Wang Ya to grow up in a broken home, because he knew how much of an impact such a family had on a child.

This was the obsession in the hearts of those of them who grew up in orphanages!

Therefore, no matter what Liao Wei did or how big a temper she threw, Wang Chao would choose to endure it.

But if she had proposed a divorce when Wang Ya was still young, Wang Chao would not have yielded in the slightest.

Now, it was finally time.

Shaking his head, Wang Chao cast these thoughts aside; now was not the time to think about these things. He just wanted to host his brother well and then deal with his own family affairs.

He went out, drove, and very quickly, Wang Chao arrived at the hotel.

After going to the top floor, he discovered that it had already been booked out by Galaxy Capital. Just as he arrived at the door of Zhang Ran's room, the door was opened.

Yin Long had just finished his report and knew that Zhang Ran had other things to do, so he didn't stay long.

Wang Chao thought this was Zhang Ran's colleague, so he nodded to acknowledge him.

"Chao'er, is your head hurting?" Zhang Ran said with a smile.

"It's fine, Brother Ran. Don't look at me being fat; my body is actually very healthy," Wang Chao said, patting his chest.

He Yong and He Qing also greeted Wang Chao when they saw him arrive, and then they left the room.

"Am I interrupting your discussion?" Wang Chao asked, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Zhang Ran waved his hand and said, "No, a colleague just came over for some idle chatter."

Wang Chao looked around the room and clicked his tongue in surprise, "Your company is really generous, giving you such a nice room?"

"I'm just tagging along; after all, the company booked the entire floor, so it would be a waste not to stay," Zhang Ran said.

"That's true, but your company really is willing to spend money, I'm envious!" Wang Chao laughed.
