Chapter 99: The First Person Encountered
Looking at the Great Elephant that had collapsed before their eyes, Lu Hanwen and Li Shou were stunned:
A creature several times stronger than an ordinary Spirit Monster had been dealt with so easily by Feng Zi?
Just as the two were dazed, Feng Zi looked up at them and said casually, "What are you still standing there for? Come over and give me a hand; this Great Elephant is quite large."
Only then did they notice that Qinglin had already cleared the surrounding ground and was picking up dry branches.
"With such a large piece of prey, can the four of us really eat it all?" Lu Hanwen walked to Feng Zi's side and asked subconsciously.
Regarding this question, Feng Zi was very puzzled; he turned his face to ask while continuing to break down the hide and meat:
"Why wouldn't we be able to eat it? We are all Martial Artists who have just stepped into the Transformation Realm; don't we need to strengthen our power? Don't we need to replenish the consumed Qi and Blood Power?"
"Besides, the human body is a treasure vault with immense potential; any excess Qi and Blood Power can also be stored within the flesh and blood, so there is absolutely no need to worry about waste."
Feng Zi answered very matter-of-factly, as if these were common sense for a Martial Artist.
After saying this, he continued to break down the prey along the grain of the Great Elephant's muscles.
But Lu Hanwen and Li Shou subconsciously exchanged glances, the doubt in their eyes growing even stronger:
They naturally understood increasing one's strength through the Qi and Blood Power of other creatures, but the problem was—
This situation required a gradual process and was not at all as easy as Feng Zi described.
Furthermore, what did he mean by "excess Qi and Blood Power can be stored in the body"? Was that even human language?
But seeing Feng Zi's such matter-of-fact attitude made the two mutter in their hearts, unable to help but doubt themselves:
Could it be that what Feng Zi said was correct? And their own concepts were wrong?
But thinking about it in a vacuum was not appropriate, so they temporarily suppressed these questions in their hearts and, following Feng Zi's movements, worked together to process this prey that was as huge as a small hill:
They would take it one step at a time; at the very least, Feng Zi would not tell such a clumsy lie, and they were well aware of this.
Before long, this huge Great Elephant had been transformed into a pile of high-quality meat chunks, neatly stacked on the hide from which the spikes had been removed.
Feng Zi sat by the campfire, holding a skewer of meat chunks that were sizzling with oil, the fresh and succulent taste exploding in his mouth:
"Hmm, this taste is truly lingering; the richness of the fat is also just right. No wonder it was hunted to the point of extinction by the ancients."
Qinglin, on the side, was also quickly "eliminating" the roasted meat in her hand with elegant table manners, unable to help but nod repeatedly, very much in agreement with Feng Zi's point of view.
But compared to the evaluations of these two like old gourmets, Lu Hanwen and Li Shou were clearly more concerned with another matter:
After a mouthful of meat went down, they could clearly feel an extremely pure Qi and Blood Power added to their bodies.
The degree of this replenishment of Qi and Blood Power was something even ordinary pills could hardly reach!
After eating a few pieces of the Great Elephant's meat, Lu Hanwen and Li Shou could no longer eat—the Qi and Blood Power in their bodies was too full, forcing the two to give up.
But Feng Zi and Qinglin seemed completely unaffected, their hand and mouth movements even becoming faster.
Seeing the two helplessly stop their movements with expressions of being "stuffed," Feng Zi asked in confusion:
"You must not be modest; it is rare to have such a good thing, you must fully replenish the Qi and Blood Power in your bodies—"
"In my plan, we will not hunt for the next few days, and we will use all our time during the day for traveling."
To this, Lu Hanwen could only shake his head helplessly and sighed, "I thought the same, but I really cannot absorb any more Qi and Blood Power."
This was the second time Feng Zi had heard this reason, and he thought Lu Hanwen just didn't understand the method of storing Qi and Blood Power in the body.
But he overlooked one point: Lu Hanwen and Li Shou came from martial arts families and had Immortal Dao methods in their homes:
If their own cultivation methods belonged to the normal path, how could the two not know?
Of course, Feng Zi had not thought of this at all and shared his understanding of the human body with great interest.
The reason he was willing to share so unreservedly was also because he hoped to give his own people a bit more self-preservation ability in this unknown environment.
And in Feng Zi's enthusiastic explanation, the two only felt greatly shocked:
What did it mean that the human body was a huge treasure vault that could store near-infinite Qi and Blood Power?
And what did it mean that the blood in the meridians was an excellent carrier that could bear all the power one had refined?
And what did it mean that the methods of martial arts cultivation were biased and there was a more suitable way to cultivate?
Feng Zi was so unreserved that he even shared his cultivation insights comprehensively!
But for Lu Hanwen and Li Shou, they didn't even hear a few sentences before they felt they were listening to gibberish.
This made them think for a moment, could Feng Zi be deliberately playing some kind of joke?
But every time Feng Zi spoke to the key points, Qinglin on the side could always offer her own insights at the right time.
Afterwards, they chatted while eating, and the more they chatted, the deeper they went, to the point that Feng Zi completely forgot that he was initially explaining his cultivation train of thought to Lu Hanwen and Li Shou.
This made Lu Hanwen and the others feel a wave of frustration:
Not seen for a few days, the depth of Feng Zi's understanding of cultivation was no longer at a level they could reach!
Finally, when Feng Zi and Qinglin had eaten seventy to eighty percent of the Great Elephant's meat, Feng Zi realized it.
He scratched his head a bit awkwardly and smiled at the two, "Sorry, I got carried away with the conversation."
Compared to the talent of Feng Zi and Qinglin, Lu Hanwen felt even more awkward and answered subconsciously:
"It doesn't matter; there were many points we didn't understand, and we really couldn't express our own insights."
To this, Feng Zi truly had no method, as cultivation still had to rely on oneself after all.
He could only add, "We are in an unknown place, and having an extra bit of self-preservation power is always good. If Brother Hanwen and Brother Li Shou have any points you don't understand, you can discuss them with me at any time."
Just as the few were trying their best to ease the awkward atmosphere, Qinglin's ears twitched twice:
"Someone is coming—that person seems to have seen the smoke from the campfire and is heading straight toward us."
Hearing this, Lu Hanwen and Li Shou subconsciously gripped their weapons.
Feng Zi naturally also sensed the person Qinglin mentioned, but his expression was not tense:
"Do not panic; that person is similar to us, like a traveler, and we can have a chat."
As his voice fell, before long, a voice came from behind Lu Hanwen and Li Shou:
"Eh? In this vast Yanglu Gulin, there are actually other highly skilled people; you all and I do have some fate."
Feng Zi looked up and saw a young man dressed in coarse cloth short-sleeved clothes, with delicate features and a sturdy build.
What was most eye-catching was that on the young man's back, he carried a giant sword even taller than himself!
