Chapter 33: Are You Two Dating? (Please Collect and Recommend)

~7 min read 1,362 words

By the roadside, a van.

Three men holding video cameras, peering through the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling glass, watched as Qi Hui brought Jing Tian to sit before Yang Mi, and their expressions froze.

"Didn't you say Yang Mi was meeting a handsome guy at night?" a buzzcut looked at the long-haired man to his left and said, suppressing his anger:

"Just this?!"

He is indeed handsome, but what about the night meeting?

Where is the explosive news I imagined?

This looks more like a gathering of good friends.

"This, this..." the long-haired man stammered, his scalp going numb.

The intelligence he received did say Yang Mi and Hu Ge had relationship problems and she had a new lover!

What is going on?

Could the intelligence be fake?

On the right, a man with a gloomy face asked in a deep voice: "Big brother, what now? Should we leave?"

The buzzcut thought for a moment and said slowly: "Let's see what happens first; we're already here."

"Right, right." The long-haired man nodded repeatedly: "Let's see first; who knows, we might get a big harvest later?"

"Shut your stinking mouth!"

"Yes..."

Looking at the man and woman before her, Yang Mi's expression was somewhat unnatural.

"Qi Hui, who is this sister?" Yang Mi glanced discreetly out the window and asked in confusion.

"Jing Tian, a junior from the class of '07." Qi Hui smiled: "Isn't this a class reunion? So I brought her along."

"Eh? Where are the other classmates? Why are you the only one here?"

"Haha..." Yang Mi gave an awkward smile; she originally wanted to say she was the classmate and the two of them were having a class reunion.

But before the words left her mouth, Qi Hui cut her off.

Yang Mi's eyes rolled, and she said softly: "I'm not clear either; I asked Yuan Shanshan to invite our class's classmates, but I don't know what happened, only you came."

A best friend is there to take the hit; poor Yuan Shanshan.

Not only did she use Yuan Shanshan to take the hit, but she also subtly threw shade at Jing Tian.

She invited classmates from her own class; why did you come?

Jing Tian heard it too; immediately she pressed her small lips together and said with a touch of pity in her tone: "It was me who begged senior brother to bring me; senior sister, please don't be angry."

"It's all my fault; don't blame senior brother."

Yang Mi: "..."

So she's a little green tea!

"It seems Teacher Yang isn't very welcoming..." Qi Hui raised an eyebrow, about to stand up.

Yang Mi quickly interrupted: "Hey... Qi Hui, we are classmates; how can you address me as teacher?"

"Waiter, bring the menu."

Beside Qi Hui, Jing Tian's lips curved with a smile, a hint of cunning flashing in her large eyes.

Yang Mi felt somewhat depressed; she hadn't gained any advantage at all; how outrageous!

"Hello, madam, here is the menu."

A female waitress quickly brought the menu.

Yang Mi glanced at it twice, ordered something at random; she had no appetite for eating now.

The menu was handed to Jing Tian; she glanced at it and ordered a steak: "Just one filet, please, well-done; I can't get used to the bloody water."

Hearing this, the female waitress looked at Jing Tian with a touch of contempt: "Madam, that's myoglobin, not bloody water."

Jing Tian frowned slightly: "It's all the same; I want it well-done."

"Very well; would you like another bowl of rice?" the waitress asked with a hint of superiority, teasing.

Yang Mi watched silently, her face unreadable, but the depression in her heart gradually turned to pleasure as the events unfolded before her.

She wanted to give this restaurant a thumbs-up.

Knock, knock!

At that moment, Qi Hui frowned, knocked on the table expressionlessly, and said slowly: "I can't get used to these dishes; bring me a plate of chive and pork dumplings."

Before the female waitress could speak, Qi Hui continued: "Write this down; I have the following requirements."

"For the filling, use Wujin pigs from Yunnan Province; eighteen months is best; too old and it's tough, too young and it's not tasty; remember, use the front leg meat."

"For the dumpling wrappers, use Liaolan wheat from Pingdu, Shandong Province, near the Baisha River, grown where the fluvo-aquic soil and calcic black soil meet."

"As for the chives, use Wushan chives from Wushan, Gansu Province; my requirements aren't high."

"For the vinegar, use Donghu vinegar from Meiheju in Shanxi Province; remember, it must be aged in a cellar for over three years."

"And the garlic, use Pizhou, Jiangsu Province... oh, almost forgot; serve seven dumplings first, then boil seven more."

Yang Mi was somewhat dazed; she didn't quite understand, but... can dumplings be eaten this high-class?

She had never even heard of these ingredients?

Jing Tian watched Qi Hui silently, her eyes shining with light.

After speaking, Qi Hui looked at the waitress: "Repeat it back to me."

"This, this..." the female waitress sweat on her forehead; how could she remember?

"I... I'm sorry, I didn't remember." She stammered.

Qi Hui's brows darkened; he slapped the table: "What? What do you think you're doing?"

The noise was not small; the manager nearby felt a jolt in his heart and hurriedly ran over.

"This guest, I apologize." The first thing the manager did upon arriving was to apologize: "We can fulfill any request you have."

"The previous order: pork and chive dumplings." Qi Hui said indifferently: "Note this down; I have the following requirements."

Hearing this, the manager directly took paper and pen from his pocket, his hand moving with dragon-like script, his speed flying.

Soon, after Qi Hui finished speaking, he glanced at him indifferently and said: "Repeat it back to me."

"Yes, this Mr." The manager held the paper in his hand and read quickly:

"For the meat filling, use Wujin pigs from Yunnan Province; eighteen months is optimal—too large makes it tough, too small tastes bad; use the front leg meat."

"For the dumpling wrappers, use Liaolan wheat from Pingdu, Shandong Province, grown where the tidal soil and calcic black soil meet near the Baisha River."

"For the chives, use Wushan chives from Wushan, Gansu Province."

"For the vinegar, use Donghu Vinegar from Meiheju, Shanxi Province, aged in cellars for over three years."

"And for the garlic, use that from Pizhou, Jiangsu Province."

"Finally, serve seven dumplings first, then boil seven more."

Qi Hui nodded: "Good, just like that, go do it."

"This..." The manager said with difficulty: "I am very sorry, Mr., our shop does not currently have these ingredients; how about this?"

"We will prepare everything for you tomorrow; how about you come back tomorrow to enjoy this delicacy?"

"If not, then forget it." Qi Hui glanced at him: "Just grill a portion of beef tenderloin; that is what you call a filet mignon."

"Remember, it must be well-done; I am not used to blood."

Qi Hui said the same words as Jing Tian.

"Yes, I will arrange it immediately." The manager was overwhelmed with gratitude, then grabbed the female waitress beside him and dragged her out:

"After work, go to finance to collect this month's wages; count it as full attendance, and you don't need to come tomorrow."

"Manager..." The female waitress's face went pale, looking pitiful.

She did not want to leave; she had not yet found a good man who could let her enjoy a high-end Western lifestyle.

"Shut up!" The manager scolded.

Clearly such an easy-to-talk-to customer, yet he started making things difficult for no reason.

If it is not your problem, could it be my problem?

By the dining table.

Yang Mi asked with a hint of jealousy: "Qi Hui, are the two of you dating?"

This rascal Qi Hui treats himself and this Jing Tian in two completely different ways.

If I were the one being made difficult, this rascal might just sit by and watch the drama unfold.

Help? Absolutely impossible!

Damn it... Yang Mi gloomily glanced at the van outside the window; tonight's plan simply would not achieve the expected effect!
