Chapter 203: Great Success in Alchemy

Lu Yu had originally thought that after reaching the Middle Grade characteristic, there would no longer be any Low-grade Pills.

But unexpectedly, there was still a ten percent probability of them appearing.

Fortunately, it was only ten percent; if he refined ten batches of pills in a row, it was possible that not even a single Low-grade Pill would be born.

Moreover, the probability of High Grade and higher-level pills appearing had increased from the original ten percent to twenty percent.

Do not underestimate this mere ten percent increase; in reality, this was already a doubling.

When the Pill Formation characteristic reached level 3, the success rate was sixty percent; even if they were all Mid-grade Blood Qi Pills, each worth 30,000, this profit was already quite good.

But if a High Grade Blood Qi Pill could appear, that would be 200,000; if two appeared, the profit would suddenly exceed 100,000, and this was without even counting the value of the Mid-grade Blood Qi Pills refined.

"If I'm not mistaken, upon reaching the Great Success realm, the characteristic should be Medium-High Grade, right?" A touch of anticipation welled up in Lu Yu's heart.

He added one point of Experience Value to Alchemy; this time, it actually required 2,000 Experience Value points!

Lu Yu looked at the 6,500-plus Experience Value points he had left; if he added these two thousand points, he would only have a little over 3,000 left.

"I don't know if these three thousand points are enough to max out Alchemy." Lu Yu was caught between laughter and tears.

He had originally thought 7,500 Experience Value points would be enough to raise 【Thirteen Taibao Hard Qigong】 and 【Soul Extinguishing Finger】 to their final realms; who could have foreseen that Alchemy would consume so much Experience Value.

If these Experience Value points were not enough to max out Alchemy, he planned to add these three thousand points to those two martial arts.

After pondering for a moment, he added the remaining 1,999 Experience Value points required.

In an instant, a new segment of memory emerged in his mind.

Although the amount of information in this memory was not much, it made him suddenly enlightened, as if he had been struck by a bolt of wisdom.

【Blood Qi Pill Alchemy: Great Success (0%), Characteristic: Pill Formation Level 4, Medium-High Grade】

【Medium-High Grade: Refined pills have a sixty percent chance of being Middle Grade, a thirty percent probability of being High Grade, and a ten percent probability of being Top Grade quality pills.】

Seeing this result, Lu Yu let out a long sigh of relief.

Now there were finally no more Low-grade Pills, and the probability of High Grade pills appearing had increased from twenty percent to thirty percent.

Counting the ten percent probability of Top Grade quality pills appearing, the actual probability of high-quality pills appearing had already reached forty percent.

Do not underestimate this mere ten percent increase in probability; even if only one Top Grade pill appeared, its value might equal the sum of the value of all other pills in that batch.

"Looking at it this way, among the pills refined by the Headquarters, Top-grade Blood Qi Pills do indeed exist, but the quantity is extremely scarce, making it difficult to supply them in large quantities as commodities."

Lu Yu cast his gaze toward the Pill Formation characteristic; as long as he raised it one more level, he could reach a one hundred percent pill formation success rate.

Furthermore, the Medium-High Grade characteristic would also advance to "High Grade".

He took a deep breath, wondering to himself if the remaining 3,000 Experience Value points would be enough? By common logic, it should be enough, but what if it wasn't?

Holding a "let's try it and see" attitude, Lu Yu added one Experience Value point to it.

Immediately, he felt relieved; it was neither more nor less, the proficiency had increased by exactly one-three-thousandth, so it seemed the Experience Value was sufficient.

Consequently, he added all the remaining Experience Value at once.

A flash of inspiration struck his mind, and an unprecedented feeling surged into his heart.

【Blood Qi Pill Alchemy: Consummation (Cannot be upgraded), Characteristic: Pill Formation Level 5, High Grade】

"High Grade!" Lu Yu's breathing could not help but quicken a little.

【High Grade: Refined pills have a sixty percent chance of being High Grade pills, a thirty percent probability of being Top Grade pills, and a ten percent probability of being Middle Grade pills.】

Looking at the characteristic description, Lu Yu was so excited he was speechless for a moment.

A thirty percent probability of Top Grade pills appearing—nearly a one-third probability—was already quite considerable.

Besides that, there was a sixty percent chance of High Grade pills appearing.

As for the ten percent probability of Middle Grade pills appearing, it actually had little impact; even if they appeared, it didn't matter, as both Top Grade and High Grade pills were extremely valuable.

Even if there was a ten percent probability of failing to refine a pill, it seemed acceptable.

Lu Yu tried hard to calm his excited mood, and another thought could not help but emerge in his heart: could it be that the High Grade characteristic still had room for improvement?

He felt this possibility was high; perhaps there was a Top Grade characteristic above it, which could greatly increase the probability of Top Grade pills appearing and make the appearance of High Grade pills extremely rare.

Then the question arose: how should he raise the upper limit of this Alchemy? Lu Yu frowned slightly.

Ordinary martial arts were mostly evolved and summarized from Basic Martial Arts, but for Alchemy, he had never heard of such a thing as Basic Alchemy.

"Forget it, I'll find a chance to ask others later." In any case, he wouldn't be able to hide his pill refining from others in the future, and there was nothing to hide anyway.

Lu Yu opened his phone, entered the Association Mall again, found the medicinal materials column to search, and felt confident.

Under normal circumstances, not counting other costs, the cost of medicinal materials alone to refine one batch of Blood Qi Pills was about 20,000.

The market price of one Low-grade Blood Qi Pill was 1,000; that is to say, if a batch of pills were all Low-grade, it would definitely be a loss.

Only if one could refine at least four Middle Grade Blood Qi Pills in a batch could one break even.

And to reach this level, one's Alchemy had to be at least Small Success or Entering the Hall.

From this, it could be seen that learning Alchemy was truly a money-burning endeavor for ordinary people.

But correspondingly, if one's alchemy level reached Entering the Hall or even the Great Success realm, it was almost equivalent to lying down and making money.

As long as one refined a batch of pills, one could reap the profit of a batch, at most expending the effort of bending over to pick up the pills.

If one reached the Consummation realm, ten pills in a batch, assuming they were all High Grade, that would be worth 200,000, a full ten-fold profit!

If one were lucky enough for a Top-grade Blood Qi Pill to appear, the value would instantly skyrocket five-fold.

Honestly, a thirty percent probability of Top Grade pills appearing was actually quite high.

Lu Yu glanced at his remaining Contribution Points; there were still nearly two million.

Calculating based on 20,000 per unit of resources, without considering discounts, he could buy one hundred units. If things went smoothly, he could refine 1,000 High Grade Blood Qi Pills!

Even though he was currently a Two-Star Member and could get a twenty percent discount, buying 1,000 High Grade Blood Qi Pills would still cost 16,000,000 Contribution Points!

And what was the cost for him to refine them himself? Only 2,000,000 Contribution Points; this was an 8-fold difference!

"Sure enough, only by doing it yourself can you have plenty of food and clothing."

Lu Yu nodded with satisfaction; he made up his mind that in the future, not only for Blood Qi Pills but even for True Qi Pills, he would buy good Prescriptions and medicinal materials and refine them himself.

The large amount of Contribution Points saved could be used just right to purchase a Cultivation Method and weapons.

However, before making the purchase, he still took out his mobile phone and made a call.

"Hello?"

Song Tian's voice came from the phone, "Is, is that little brother Lu?"

There was a trace of trepidation in Song Tian's tone.

Because of the incident that happened before, the group chat was in an uproar.

He felt that Lu Yu must have seen it, which was why he was calling him.

It would be one thing if he himself were wronged, but Lu Yu had relied on genuine ability and yet was also doubted, so he felt truly sorry about it.
