Chapter 323: Fire Bane

"It can actually double the range." A thoughtful expression appeared on Lu Yu's face.

He knew well that the significant advantage of an archer on the battlefield lay in their long attack distance, allowing them to launch attacks while the enemy was unable to reach them.

Now that the range had doubled, it would undoubtedly increase the archer's deterrent power on the battlefield by a geometric factor.

This active Skill was truly powerful. The only drawback was that as the Skill level increased, the range no longer increased; instead, the True Qi consumption decreased.

If raised to the Consummation Realm, it could reduce True Qi consumption by 40%, at which point this Skill could be cast for a cost of only 1800 points of True Qi.

"Not bad; presumably, even more powerful skills will appear later." Lu Yu clenched his fist; after all, according to the introduction of this Arrow Technique, it possessed the power to shoot down the sun.

Afterward, Lu Yu successively consumed another 320 points of Experience Value, and his proficiency rose another notch, yet no new traits were unlocked, which did not surprise Lu Yu.

He immediately invested another 640 points of Experience Value, still with no signs of any new traits being unlocked.

"It seems there is only one last chance left."

Lu Yu took a deep breath, gathered his courage, and added all 1280 points of Experience Value at once. Almost at the same instant, a strange sensation surged into his heart like a tide.

【Sun-Shooting Arrow Technique: Consummation, Traits: One Ox Strength Level 5, Jian She Chang Kong Level 4, Sun-Shooting Arrow Level 1】

"It's finally here!" A flash of pleasant surprise crossed Lu Yu's eyes, and he immediately clicked to view the new trait.

【Sun-Shooting Arrow: Active Skill. After activation, consumes 10,000 points of True Qi, Arrow Technique power increases tenfold. Each time the skill level increases, True Qi consumption increases tenfold, and Arrow Technique power increases tenfold.】

"Power increased tenfold!" Lu Yu could not help but be overjoyed.

One must know that previously, even if he spent 3000 points of True Qi to unleash a Piercing Clouds and Splitting Rocks arrow, he could not kill a Fire-Scaled Pig instantly.

But now that he had unlocked the Sun-Shooting Arrow, he could definitely kill it in one shot! It could even cause considerable damage to Commander-level Fierce Beasts.

If he were to replace the bow in his hand with a more Advanced one, the power would be unimaginable... Just thinking about it made Lu Yu's blood boil.

His gaze fell upon the activation conditions; it required 10,000 points of True Qi, a truly harsh condition.

Lu Yu could not help but suspect that this Cultivation Method might not have been designed specifically for Pulse Refining Realm Martial Artists; it was highly likely an Arrow Technique that only True Essence Realm Martial Artists could cast with ease.

Moreover, there was another line of information in the trait description, indicating that this trait could continue to be upgraded.

At Level 2, the Sun-Shooting Arrow's power would increase a hundredfold! Of course, as the price, the True Qi required for activation would also skyrocket to as much as 100,000 points.

"It's a pity; my current Basic Archery level is relatively low. Even if I could raise the True Qi in my body to 100,000 points later, I'm afraid it would be of no use." Lu Yu sighed slightly, feeling some regret in his heart.

However, a tenfold-power Sun-Shooting Arrow was quite good to use for the time being. As for the hundredfold-power Sun-Shooting Arrow, as long as he slowly raised his Basic Archery level, he believed he would be able to unlock it one day.

"Spending less than 3000 points of Experience Value in total to cultivate the Sun-Shooting Arrow Technique to Consummation; next, it's the turn of the Flame Arrow Technique."

Lu Yu shifted his gaze to the Flame Arrow Technique. He had always been full of curiosity about this Arrow Technique that could transform the attribute of True Qi, and he couldn't wait to see what kind of wonderful traits would be unlocked as his proficiency increased.

Following his usual practice, he first tested the waters by adding one point of Experience Value. He saw that after the proficiency rose by one percent, it stopped changing.

"Eh?" Lu Yu was slightly surprised; he hadn't expected the 【Flame Arrow Technique】 to consume even more Experience Value than the 【Sun-Shooting Arrow Technique】. This undoubtedly made the anticipation in his heart grow even stronger.

Subsequently, Lu Yu added the remaining required Experience Value all at once.

In an instant, a warm current flowed through his arms again, and his strength increased slightly as a result.

【Flame Arrow Technique: Entry, Traits: One Ox Strength Level 1】

Looking at the changes in the skill bar, Lu Yu could not help but feel a bit between laughter and tears.

This was exactly the same as the trait when the Sun-Shooting Arrow Technique was at Entry, yet it cost twenty more points of Experience Value. He complained a little in his heart, then added another two hundred points of Experience Value.

The moment the Experience Value was added, a strange feeling welled up.

【Flame Arrow Technique: Minor Accomplishment, Traits: One Ox Strength Level 2, Fire Bane Level 1】

"Fire Bane?" Lu Yu's eyes lit up immediately. He hadn't expected to unlock a trait related to fire-attribute True Qi so quickly.

【Fire Bane: Active Skill. After activation, consumes 3000 points of True Qi, transforming the practitioner's internal True Qi into fire-attribute True Qi, which attaches to the arrow. After hitting the enemy, the fire-attribute True Qi invades the enemy's body and explodes, causing massive fire-attribute damage. Each time the skill level increases, True Qi consumption and explosion power increase twofold.】

"Invades the body and explodes." Lu Yu frowned slightly.

This meant it could cause damage inside the enemy's body; this effect was simply too powerful!

After all, even if a Fierce Beast's defense was strong, it was mainly concentrated on the surface of the body, like scales or solid skin and muscle; however, their internal defense was certainly not as good as their exterior.

For an arrow shot with the same 3000 points of True Qi, the Piercing Clouds and Splitting Rocks arrow could only severely injure a Fire-Scaled Pig, while an arrow shot after activating Fire Bane might struggle to break through the scales on the opponent's surface, but the massive fire-attribute True Qi carried by the arrow could take the opportunity of contact to drill into the opponent's body and directly cause a devastating explosion inside.

This move could also achieve miraculous effects when used against human Martial Artists, or even Awakened.

Especially when facing those Awakened who possessed defensive means, they might be able to block the shot arrow, but it would be difficult for them to resist the invasion of True Qi.

"If raised to the Consummation Realm, the explosion power can increase to 4 times. I must find an opportunity to verify it; the power shouldn't be inferior to the tenfold-power Sun-Shooting Arrow."

After all, a Level 4 Fire Bane consumes a high amount of True Qi per arrow, two thousand points more than a Level 1 Sun-Shooting Arrow.

His gaze remained fixed on the skill; it had only reached the Minor Accomplishment realm now, and if another trait were unlocked later, it would be even more worth it.

Lu Yu invested another four hundred points of Experience Value, but unfortunately, this time, no new trait was unlocked.

"It seems I must reach the Consummation Realm to unlock the third trait." Lu Yu pondered for a moment, then added Experience Value twice in succession, directly raising this Arrow Technique to the Consummation Realm.

Sure enough, a strange sensation surged into his heart again.

【Flame Arrow Technique: Consummation, Traits: One Ox Strength Level 5, Fire Bane Level 4, Flame Arrow Level 1】

【Flame Arrow: Active Skill. After activation, consumes 30,000 points of True Qi, transforming it into fire-attribute True Qi that covers the arrow, causing massive fire-attribute damage to the enemy. Each time the skill level increases, True Qi consumption and power increase twofold.】

"30,000 points of True Qi..." Lu Yu gasped.

This True Qi consumption was truly terrifying! Let alone an ordinary Pulse Refining Realm Martial Artist, even a top expert among Pulse Refining Realm Martial Artists would likely find it difficult to bear.

As for the power, the description did not explain it in detail, using only the word "massive" to describe it.

But if one were to calculate the power based on True Qi consumption, a Level 1 Sun-Shooting Arrow consumes 10,000 points of True Qi and increases power tenfold.

And the Flame Arrow consumes 30,000 points of True Qi, so its power should logically be 3 times that of the Sun-Shooting Arrow, which is 30 times the power of a normal arrow!

"No wonder this Arrow Technique requires more Experience Value than the Sun-Shooting Arrow Technique."

Lu Yu pondered to himself; before the hundredfold Sun-Shooting Arrow was unlocked, he could treat this Flame Arrow as his final trump card.

Of course, the premise was that the True Qi in his body could exceed 30,000 points; otherwise, he could only look on and sigh.

"There is only one last Arrow Technique left." A smile appeared on Lu Yu's face.

To be honest, the previous two Arrow Techniques were already enough for him to use in battle.

But as the saying goes, having more skills is never a burden, and what's more, this third Arrow Technique is an archery style capable of attacking the opponent's soul; compared to ordinary Mental attack methods, its attack range is far greater.

At this moment, the status of the 【God-Controlling Arrow Technique】 is 【Not Even a Clue】.

After Lu Yu consumed one point of Experience Value, his proficiency increased by one two-hundred-and-fortieth.

"So it originally required three hundred points of Experience Value just to reach Entry? As expected, martial arts related to the Mental Attribute are indeed difficult to cultivate," Lu Yu thought to himself.

Fortunately, with his current strength, tens of thousands of Experience Value points are nothing but a piece of cake.

After he added all the remaining required Experience Value at once, he was surprised to discover that not only had his strength increased slightly, but his Mental Power also seemed to have become stronger.

"Could it be that this Arrow Technique also has the effect of enhancing Mental Power?"
