Chapter 111: Impure Bone Contemplation
"Flee? Flee from what?"
Xu Jia sneered: "If it were maintaining a Buddha-land, that would be one thing, but many of my Daoist methods are being interfered with and cannot be unleashed. Since they have actively transformed into a ghost domain, I can instead display my true abilities!"
On the other side, Hu Jinhua and Huang Pipo were each setting fires, one in the "Longwang Dian" and the other in the "Zushi Tang."
The two of them, one urinating and the other farting, each held a fan, fanning the hallucinogenic smoke, foul Qi, and thick smoke outward together, while shouting: "Fire! Fire!"
For a moment, the combination of the illusion and the real scene was extremely lifelike, as if flames were soaring to the heavens.
The fortune of this Dizang An was also nearing its end; the great fire burned the Longwang Dian, yet the Dragon King did not manifest to bring down a rain.
Among the commoners, some who wanted to fight the fire were inexplicably infected by a sense of panic: "If we don't run now, we'll be burned to death!"
And so, they fled one after another.
The three Yaksha zombies from before returned, and seeing that two little demons dared to commit arson, they charged toward Hu Jinhua and Huang Pipo.
These Protector Yakshas were refined using the bones of monks and Sarira, and having been given the order of "Protector" by the evil monk, they were, generally speaking, the "security guards" of the Dizang An Daochang.
Although refined from the bones of monks, they possessed no compassionate intent and were extremely ferocious zombies.
Seeing that Xu Jia had beheaded one with an Evil-Slaying Talisman, the two little demons gained confidence and triggered the Talisman Xu Jia had just drawn. Huang Pipo struck first, having been beaten miserably by the Yaksha that was disguised as a statue earlier, and was particularly eager for revenge. However, this Talisman was not drawn with the Dharma Power of a past life, nor had it been consecrated at an Altar Opening, so it only consumed Xu Jia's current spiritual essence and energy, making its power a notch weaker.
This strand of Evil-Slaying Sword Qi only slashed the Yaksha's neck.
It exposed the bone, but the neck was not the Yaksha's fatal point; its fatal point was the hidden vessel within its chest cavity. Without the hidden vessel, they could not move.
Huang Pipo was terrified: "No wonder Master Xu said earlier that if we encountered this Yaksha again, we shouldn't fight it head-on!"
And so, they began to kite it again.
As for Xu Jia, feeling the demonic atmosphere of the Underground Palace, it was as if he were dreaming of returning to America. If one spoke of orthodox spells, he could not unleash them without orthodox Dharma Power, but these Evil Arts and evil methods were exactly where Xu Jia, Master Xu, had researched most deeply.
It just so happened that evil methods were a perfect match for side-door Dharma Power. Xu Jia lacked nothing else; he could just use the side-door Dharma Power cultivated by Hu Jinhua, Huang Pipo, and even Qiu Jinsha, since they had already bowed at the hall and acknowledged him as their Dharma Lord.
Although Qiu Jinsha was a creek god, he did not cultivate the orthodox path, nor did he have a temple; he was poor and down-and-out.
Xu Jia formed a seal and performed the "Yin Mountain Order" from the "Yin Mountain Method," bestowing Dharma Power and thoughts to lure ghost spirits for the purpose of feeding the Yin.
The Underground Palace was filled with nuns and young women who had died miserable deaths, and there was no shortage of cases where both mother and child perished, or even young infants.
They were all filled with deep Resentment Qi, wandering in the Corpse Forest of the Underground Palace. This Corpse Forest was arranged into an evil formation that could trap them and use their resentment and evil Qi to nourish an evil god.
Xu Jia lured these evil ghosts while walking inward, scattering rice to clear the way. This rice was "Yin Rice," made by steaming glutinous rice and then drying it in the shade.
Yin Rice cleared the way, bestowing alms upon the wandering ghosts.
Even the two little ghosts, Duowen and Guangmu, could not help but want to pounce on it. Seen from the Dharma Realm, every grain of rice Xu Jia scattered fell to the ground, touched the Yin Qi, and turned into a steaming rice ball. Though not a feast of fish and meat, it was still "Dharma food."
And the Shilin Huzhu, the two skeletons enshrined on the Dharma Altar, turned their heads eerily to look in the direction from which Xu Jia had come.
The old nun with the mangy head who had come down earlier had already had her Soul captured. At this moment, her body was sweating profusely; it was her Soul in terror, running while being chased, which caused this. When the sweat ran dry, that would be the moment of her death.
Xu Jia walked to her side, patted her shoulder, and shouted: "Return at once!"
In an instant, a mass of Living Souls in the Corpse Forest was absorbed by the physical body. Just as they were about to return to the body, the Shilin Huzhu let out a sound: "Om!" At the same time, the group of corpses turned. Those corpses that were hung up by hooks all began to rotate, their eyes staring straight at Xu Jia. The Yin Rice Xu Jia had scattered turned black instantly, and the blood on the ground began to "rise like a tide" as if it had consciousness; those corpse hairs spread and grew like seaweed.
Corpse insects crawled.
A chilling wind blew from all directions; it was fierce ghosts blowing their breath, trying to extinguish Xu Jia's Yang fire.
The patchwork robe emitted a faint red light, but it was inconspicuous in the gloomy Underground Palace.
The bones of the Shilin Huzhu began to dance. They were husband and wife bones; in fact, they were also brother and sister. In Buddhism, the Shilin Huzhu appears as a protector of Yama, but they are not just protectors; they are also one of the "Dharma Bodies." Yama is the brother-sister-husband-wife pair, performing the posture of "treading on corpses."
What Xu Jia saw was not real; it was all "hallucinations," or rather, in the real world, bones cannot dance, but in the Dharma Realm, these bones were indeed dancing.
Waiting for the frequency of the Dharma Realm to coincide with reality was the "moment of the ghost domain's descent."
Xu Jia was not afraid or terrified at all; instead, with a compassionate and merciful heart, he bestowed alms, directly taking down the female corpse hanging on the iron hook in front of him!
The female corpse's body was already cold and stiff, her blood sticky, and her white clothes had burned into blood-stained clothes.
As Xu Jia took her down, she suddenly placed her hands on Xu Jia's shoulders, and a faint sound of breathing could be heard by his ear.
Laying her out, Xu Jia smoothed her eyes, took out a copper coin, placed it between her brows, and said: "In the great thousand worlds, floating and sinking, coming and going, do not cling, do not hang!"
This female corpse immediately calmed down.
Xu Jia took down these female corpses that were facing him one by one. The blood stained his patchwork robe red. The Evil Sect gave them pain, and Xu Jia reduced their pain, so he did not encounter much obstruction from these evil ghosts. Even though the Shilin Huzhu let out a roar of rage, driving the evil ghosts to kill Xu Jia, Xu Jia was not afraid in his heart, so he would not be deluded or harmed by them.
The copper coins Xu Jia brought were not many; they were the ones left over after he unraveled the copper coin sword he had woven last time.
This was also because there was no one presiding over the evil altar; the old nun had been knocked down by Xu Jia at the first opportunity, otherwise there would have been more of a fight.
The Shilin Huzhu made a sound in the Dharma Realm: "Excellent, excellent. A benefactor with a truly compassionate heart is a successor of the non-dual Dharma gate of Dizang. You only need to kowtow to me three times, and I can teach you the 'Bone Impurity Contemplation'."
Xu Jia said: "What is so special about this contemplation?"
"This contemplation involves sitting with corpses to practice, realizing life and death in the Shitolin, discarding the great terror of life and death, observing the rotting of the flesh, gradually revealing the white bones—first the appearance of red rot, then the appearance of yellow filth, and finally white as jade, shining brilliantly. Those who can cultivate and attain it will obtain the true meaning of the wonderful existence of the vacuum, the deep meaning of Nirvana's tranquility, and will be able to dwell in the intermediate state and transcend the Desire Realm!"
Xu Jia chuckled: "Bullshit!"
He then pushed forward. The skeleton grabbed Xu Jia's hand. The Shilin Huzhu hugged Xu Jia like a snake coiling, intending to drag Xu Jia into the death illusion. At the same time, bone spurs pierced in to absorb blood, wanting to absorb and refine this full essence, energy, and spirit, and "convert" Xu Jia.
The Shilin Huzhu had been suppressed in Dizang An for over two hundred years. Having heard the Dharma, he had actually attained a certain level of cultivation. This was also a tribulation for him, an "external demonic tribulation." If he had not been lured and subdued by the evil demon, in three hundred years, he would have been able to achieve the right fruit, become one of the Ghost Kings under the seat of Dizang Wang Pusa, construct a Buddha-land Mandala, and become the true Protector of the Dizang An temple.
But he accepted the evil sacrifice, recalled the days of being suppressed for over two hundred years in darkness, forced to listen to those bullshit principles and bullshit Dharma. The chanting was like a chisel, chiseling into his skull.
He hugged Xu Jia, and Xu Jia also grabbed his rib, enduring the piercing pain and the cold, and exerted force to pull this rib out, then fiercely stabbed it into his empty eye socket.
The Shilin Huzhu, who was about to trigger Xu Jia's death Qi, suddenly screamed: "How are you not in the cycle of reincarnation!"
Xu Jia's Death Registry could not even be queried by the Yushan City God. Since this Shilin Huzhu had not yet become a Buddhist Protector who dominated death, how could he find Xu Jia's Death Gate?
Xu Jia shouted coldly: "Hehe! Look what I've dug out!"
A Sarira treasure niche was seen being taken out by Xu Jia from under the seat of the Shilin Huzhu.
