Chapter 330: Cultivating the Six Jia Body Gods for Protection

~10 min read 1,819 words

Xu Jia had not failed to read *Journey to the West* or *Investiture of the Gods*, and he thought to himself: It couldn't possibly be that Laojun's furnace exploded.

However, he became increasingly curious about the Shangjie; was it merely that the Immortal World had different latitudes and the lower world different degrees, or was there an entirely different set of rules?

Zhu Yan said: "I only managed to maintain my form for so long without being assimilated because I refined a wisp of furnace fire that had stained the Innate Divine Steel. Once the Fire Method is cultivated to Great Achievement, this volcano, having obtained the furnace ash, also gained various transformations, but none compare even slightly to this Innate Divine Steel."

"It is just that ordinary fire in the lower world is hard to refine; even if struck by heavenly thunder, it only sheds some dross and dust. Yet, once these dross and dust are refined, they are also divine artifacts."

"Even though I possess Samadhi Fire, it is still difficult to refine. Does the Sect Leader have a way?"

"I shall try." Xu Jia did not dare claim he certainly had a way. Back when he gathered Silver Essence to refine the Golden Jiao Sword, he had channeled Azure Yang Qi into his lungs and viscera, using the Lung Lord to fan the wind, the Heart Lord to burn the fire, the Spleen Lord to set the furnace, the Kidney Lord to quench the fire, and the Liver Lord to add fuel, while his Primordial Spirit personally forged it, assisted by the Tiangang Great Sage; at the same time, he chanted incantations, merging the divine intent of the demon-slaying and dragon-beheading swords to summon their true forms.

Now, he was merely repeating the old technique.

It was just that Xu Jia had now attained the status of a God Immortal, most of the Body Gods within him had returned to their positions, and he had many more sources of assistance. Furthermore, having just refined the Four Seas Monarch, he might now be able to use the volcano, the Bi Fang Zhu Yan, and perhaps the Taiyang Xingjun and other fire gods.

Especially the Six Yang Chief, which is the six meridians connected to the head; these are the Six Jia Gods that assist the Primordial Spirit, and together with the four limbs and hundred bones, they are the gods of central coordination.

They are the gods of the Hand Three Yang and Foot Three Yang.

All the acupoints on these six meridians can only be used to manifest the Pure Yang God after one has attained the Dao as a God Immortal.

Together with the Foot Three Yin and Hand Three Yin, they are the Six Ding Gods that assist the Primordial Spirit.

The Six Ding and Six Jia also correspond to the flow of the hours, and thus are also attributed as the gods on duty, serving as the bodyguards of the human body's protective Qi.

The Six Ding are: Dingmao, Dingsi, Dingwei, Dingyou, Dinghai, and Dingchou.

The Six Jia are: Jiazi, Jiaxu, Jiashen, Jiawu, Jiachen, and Jiayin.

In *Journey to the West*, when Laojun was refining artifacts, it was said: "Laojun himself moves the bellows and hammer, Yinghuo personally adds the charcoal dust. The Five Emperors of the Five Directions use their ingenuity, the Six Ding and Six Jia expend great effort."

The Upper Treasure Qin Rake he refined weighed five thousand and forty-eight catties, matching the number of one *zang*, corresponding to the number of breaths required for the human body's normal meridian circulation to complete one Great Heavenly Cycle.

The rake represents farming, which is another profound meaning within the Inner Landscape Map.

Thinking that this place was somewhat of a treasure land, and that there was no immediate rush in Poyang, Xu Jia planned to cultivate here for ten days or half a month to manifest the meridian gods, the Six Ding and Six Jia, and then try to have the Inner Landscape encompass this piece of Innate Divine Steel to see if he could refine a divine treasure.

Xu Jia ordered Xiao Pang to prepare the items needed for the altar purification, intending to open a "Volcano Altar," or "Travel Altar," at the crater. This would be a temporary external altar, with the altar shape modeled after the Vermilion Bird, corresponding to the Vermilion Bird Seven Mansions of the south.

Xiaopangdun did not dare to outsource this, only saying: "This place has not been civilized, and we have no paper-making. While there is no shortage of brush and ink, there is not much cinnabar, though a lot of sulfur ore has been mined."

"Then do not use cinnabar; use sulfur. Sulfur is the essence of fire. Grind it into powder and mix it with wine and ink. As for paper, there is no need for yellow paper; white paper is the same. Do not be too constrained by external objects."

Xiaopangdun received the order and went to handle it, while Xu Jia went to the crater to take a look himself.

Water was accumulated in the crater, resembling Tianchi, but viewed from the Dharma Realm, since fire naturally ascends, this bit of water was as good as nothing. Although there were no phoenix trees, it was a "nest type," which in terms of Feng Shui, is a place where a phoenix lands.

But a phoenix will not stop unless there is a phoenix tree, and it is best to have a bamboo forest nearby to provide food.

There were bamboo forests here in Luzon, and many of them, which could be considered a feature. Where there are many bamboo forests, there are poisonous insects and snakes; it is actually very difficult to raise a phoenix, but raising a Garuda that eats five hundred small dragons and three hundred large dragons a day would be fine.

Xu Jia lectured Zhu Yan on the Dao for another day, and Xiaopangdun had prepared the items for opening and purifying the altar, setting up the Vermilion Bird Altar at the crater. The method of purifying the altar for the Vermilion Bird Altar was different from the ordinary Xun Water Cleansing Altar; it was the "True Fire Purifying Altar."

Four fire basins were placed in the four directions, and then, holding a copper mirror to reflect sunlight into the fire basins, this created the Sun True Fire. By chanting the Vermilion Bird Divine Incantation, the true fire could plow the earth and burn the Dharma Realm.

All filth, demons, and monsters in the Dharma Realm were like those inside a fire circle drawn by Sun Wukong.

Zhu Yan felt much more comfortable standing by the altar, and the fire spirit Qi was also very pure.

Xu Jia then ordered: "Zhu Yan, quickly draw out the volcanic fire Qi."

Zhu Yan obeyed, soared into the air, transformed into a large cyan bird, and plunged into the crater's Tianchi. After a moment, it shot up into the clouds, burning the Cloud Void into a large expanse of fire clouds.

The fire Qi gathered rapidly, and the temperature of the surrounding air rose significantly.

Xu Jia gathered the fire Qi, mixed it with the Sun Li Flame, and kneaded it to refine his quality. The various fire Qi entered through the head orifices—nose, ears, eyes, and mouth—and traveled down the meridians of the Six Yang Chief to the Hand Three Yang and Foot Three Yang, causing his four limbs and hundred bones to begin to heat up.

His body temperature rose sharply; if someone had a persistent high fever, identifying the root cause and massaging or applying acupuncture to the corresponding meridians could also cause the fever to subside immediately.

However, the heat in Xu Jia's body at this moment had nothing to do with that; rather, the various gods of the Fire Mansion within him began to gestate, and the Six Jia Spirit Generals began to take shape.

Jiazi is the rat, corresponding to the Twelve Earthly Branches; the rat phase is Kan, which reverses to Li. The center of Li is empty, which is the phase of the Virtual Sun Fire Rat, corresponding to the Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian.

Jiachen is the dragon; the dragon phase is Qian, which is inherently Pure Yang and does not need to be reversed. It corresponds to the Hand Shaoyang Triple Burner Meridian. Cultivating the Triple Burner yields Dragon Qi, and regulating the Triple Burner yields Pure Yang; therefore, all health-preserving methods prioritize the cultivation of the Triple Burner.

Jiayin is the tiger, acting as the Mountain Lord, taking the Gen phase. It takes the meaning of the king within the Thick Earth, adjusting Gen to Zhen. The tiger's roar is like Thunder Sound, corresponding to the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian.

In addition, Jiaxu, Jiashen, and Jiawu also correspond to the other Triple Burners.

Jiawu corresponds to the Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian; it is the phase of the Dragon Horse and also has the Qian phase.

Jiaxu corresponds to the Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian; the foot governs transformation, and the Grain God does not die, which is called the Mysterious Female, signifying digestion.

Jiashen corresponds to the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian and is the monkey phase...

The Six Jia are all in the image of male gods; the Taiyang is an elder, the Shaoyang is a youth, and the Yangming is a man in his prime.

At this moment, they all appeared; the monkey and horse took the form of the "heart-ape and mind-horse," the dragon and tiger took the form of harmonization, and the dog and rat took the form of good and evil thoughts.

It was just that they were all subdued one by one, becoming Protectors on duty.

The Six Yang Jiazi gods gathered in the skull, arching over the Primordial Spirit. Suddenly, the Primordial Spirit shone brightly, and with the help of the Six Yang, it began to refine the yin dross. However, six is a yin number, and it was still missing three Yang; combined with Nine Yang, these three Yang Qi correspond to Green Yang, Purple Yang, and White Yang. Combined, the Nine Yang is called Pure Yang.

Xu Jia had an affinity with the Azure Yang Qi, and the Emperor of Azure Yang is none other than Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun.

Thus, he first combined with Azure Yang, and suddenly six became seven; seven is the number of Shaoyang. Xu Jia's Primordial Spirit shone brightly, and the Six Jia Yangs arched over the Azure Yang, forming the shape of "one of the Four Sovereigns," namely the Taiyi Qinghua Emperor, which also took shape immediately to the east of the Zi Fu.

Xu Jia's previous life's cultivation in the liver was indeed a mistake; now, using Azure Yang to cultivate it and assist the Primordial Spirit was the correct method.
