Chapter 438: Splitting the Geng Metal Nature

~12 min read 2,227 words

In a certain sense, Xu Jia is truly a real Buddha.

First, he possesses a heart of great compassion; Amitabha made forty-eight great vows, and Xu Jia also makes vows.

Second: Sakyamuni said, "In heaven and on earth, I alone am honored," which is a bit too arrogant, placing himself above all living beings. Xu Jia, however, truly places himself in the mindset of an ordinary person to think; in this point, he is even better than Sakyamuni.

Third: We are currently in the End of Dharma Era, and most people in Buddhist temples are followers of Poxun; conversely, Xu Jia, who is on the outside, occasionally studies the Dharma purely to blacken the Buddhist sect, and what he obtains is the true meaning of the Buddha's teachings.

In short, Xu Jia is a Buddha in the world. Except for not having a head full of curly hair, the eighty auspicious marks are basically complete. Of course, these are all external appearances; Xu Jia is a spiritual Fo Zhu. As for acting as the leader of Buddhism, even if it temporarily violates the Lingbao Sect doctrine, Xu Jia can change it (anyway, there are few successors to the Lingbao Sect, and he is already cosplaying Tongtian Jiaozhu; according to the prehistoric myths, there is no problem with creating a Duobao Tathagata, right?).

The orthodoxy of Buddhism lies in Lingbao.

It is precisely because he holds this view that Xu Jia looks down on Baiyun Chanshi, feeling that what he cultivates is utter nonsense. Even if he reincarnates ten more times, the more he cultivates, the worse he will become, and the narrower his path will get. Even if he cultivates until his whole body flows with golden blood and he eats gold as bait medicine, eating his way into a Golden Body, that is just a Golden Arhat, a piece of goods to be placed in a temple to receive Incense Fire and earn money from foolish faith.

Of course, Xu Jia might not waste such good material; refining it into a golden corpse would make it a truly ancestral Arhat Protector.

Baiyun Chanshi, in the end, still solidified his own faith and was not enlightened by Xu Jia's words. He believed that Xu Jia was an Outer Path, an extraterrestrial demon, who came with the purpose of destroying the world and disrupting the fate and Cause and Effect order of this realm. Perhaps he was some lackey of a chaotic evil god, or perhaps he brought about a realm war.

Thus, he risked his life and unleashed his ultimate move: "Buddha Light Universal Salvation!"

Instantly, golden blood sprayed from the top of his head, dyeing his entire physical body gold. The back of his head aligned with the sun in the sky, resembling a Buddha wheel, and for a moment, he possessed the temperament of "sacrificing oneself to suppress demons."

The envoys of Zoroastrianism, seeing such a good opportunity, wanted to transmit the information to their leader. They certainly could not escape, but they could not die without meaning or value either.

Baiyun Chanshi's Dharma was more advanced than before; at the very least, he had studied the golden light nature emitted by the Buddha Treasure Sarira in the sky.

This Buddha Light Universal Salvation was not aimed at killing at all; it was aimed at "saving demons."

It was to save Xu Jia into the Buddhist sect.

To be precise, it was an ultimate spiritual brand, infinite brainwashing, which has the same effect as the "Great Universal Salvation Art" among the three thousand great Divine Abilities.

He even shattered the Arhat Sarira to unleash such a dazzling ultimate move, and further borrowed the power of the sun to achieve ultimate brilliance.

Even if Xu Jia were not converted, the places illuminated by the Buddha light would become a Buddhist Pure Land, and his spiritual brand would exist within every sentient being...

At worst, he would just reincarnate again.

But Xu Jia himself is a "spiritual Fo Zhu." I am already the leader of the Buddhist sect; you, this Arhat, are rebelling against the heavens to come and convert a Buddha—isn't this just being full and having nothing to do?

Although many Buddhist scripture annotations and Buddhist Divine Ability inheritances appeared out of thin air.

Xu Jia's brain was not washed at all.

Instead, outside his Primordial Spirit, a Lingbao Pure Light emerged. This was a cyan layer, and there was another yellow layer, which was the Yellow Heaven Divine Wheel, and another layer of golden light; this was the Merit Golden Light.

Within these three layers of light, there was also Wisdom Light and Pure Light, which Xu Jia had cultivated himself.

With these five layers of light as a casing, this layer of Buddha light, even if it stuck, could only remain on the sixth layer. In other words, the monk's self-detonation was a free gift of a layer of "Salvation Light" to Xu Jia.

This layer of Salvation Light would make others feel that Xu Jia's research into Buddhist Dharma cultivation was very high, which could be used later to trick Buddhist cultivators into working for him.

Although Xu Jia hates monks, since he has even taught the Dharma to his own mother, he must internally appreciate that there are some merits to the Dharma. Furthermore, the Buddhist sect is indeed vast and has many talents; this is an unchangeable fact.

That so many talents only study Buddhist theoretical Dharma, do not study any physics or chemistry, and do not think about any mathematical problems, makes Xu Jia feel it is a pity.

This group of people, if guided correctly, are vegetarian, strictly disciplined, and compassionate and dedicated.

As long as proselytizing to minors is prohibited, proselytizing outside of religious venues is prohibited, and the granting of monk certificates is made more stringent, and monks are not allowed to hoard farmland, it is actually quite good.

Xu Jia has always been a proponent of "take-ism"; he dares to use demonic sect spells, so naturally, he dares to use Buddhist sect spells as well.

Using Buddhist spells to convert demons and Outer Path heretics, and then arranging the brainwashed demons and heretics into suitable positions for production, burning themselves to contribute to everyone.

Of course, the Buddhist Dharma also has a way of fooling the common people; being obedient subjects and pacifying the people is exactly their specialty.

It is a pity that Xu Jia has no need for such a good ability. If there were a Buddhist demon monk like the black-robed prime minister Yao Guangxiao, who specialized in studying dragon-slaying techniques, Xu Jia might take an extra look.

In short... Baiyun Chanshi is dead, and Xu Jia is completely fine.

It was just that when that Buddhist Primordial Spirit was about to reincarnate again, rushing into a household to become a reincarnated Spirit Child, Xu Jia intercepted it. Then, the next moment, he jumped to the Buddha Treasure Sarira and injected this Buddhist Primordial Spirit into the golden nature fruit position of "Gengzi Mituo Golden Light Nature." If the physical body refines this thing, it will deform; what if it is just the Primordial Spirit? Baiyun Chanshi revealed a look of terror: "How are you not affected at all?"

"I grafted it out," Xu Jia said truthfully.

In the Glazed Temple, the fainted Huanglian Daoren was now solemn and dignified, his body glowing with Buddha light, and his skin had turned the color of gold and bronze. The nearby commoners were quickly saved. It had to be Xiaopangdun; his clay-sculpted body was walking here, and he was not afraid.

Others affected were the four envoys of Zoroastrianism; the Buddha Light Universal Salvation was released indiscriminately, and they were also infected. Not only them, but Huogong Toutuo was also saved. He had just been refining the Great Diamond Protector, and now he was sitting cross-legged on the ground, chanting the Great Compassion Mantra for the dead.

Even though he had the protection of the Lingbao Register Method, its level was too low after all.

After Baiyun Chanshi's Primordial Spirit was injected into the golden nature Sarira, golden light illusions appeared everywhere the Buddha light covered.

The Golden Buddha Kingdom of the past was vividly reproduced, and one soul after another, one memory after another, began to play out.

This golden nature imprisoned the souls and Primordial Spirits of everyone in the Golden Kingdom of that year.

Whenever someone inherits the Sarira and the Buddha Kingdom reappears, and the Golden Light Bodhisattva appears, they will become citizens of the Buddha Kingdom and appear again.

The illusory Golden Pure Land will become real in the Dharma Realm, and subsequently stain the real world...

Baiyun Chanshi now became the "Golden Light Bodhisattva."

But because he sacrificed his physical body and was only a Buddhist Primordial Spirit, this Golden Light Bodhisattva was not complete.

With the golden light added to his body and layers of light wheels behind his head, Baiyun Chanshi finally saw the golden light gather like fragments, transforming into a pure gold physical shell.

"Amitabha, benefactor... why must you be so obsessed?"

Although Baiyun Chanshi was angry that his reincarnation had failed, after merging with this Sarira, he directly transformed into a Bodhisattva. Although he was an "Outer Path Bodhisattva," just like the "Talisman Golden Elixir" given to Huogong Toutuo, he was ultimately a "Bodhisattva." He struggled internally for a moment and then accepted it; he had already reincarnated ten times anyway.

Thus, he became inflated. To be precise, the Bodhisattva realm is equivalent to a Heavenly Immortal. Although this Desire Realm Bodhisattva cannot ascend, cannot enter the Form Realm or the Buddhist Pure Land, and cannot reach the Spirit Mountain Great Thunderclap Temple, he could still govern a Buddha Kingdom...

As a Buddhist expert, he accepted the power of the Golden Light Sarira.

Although the Sarira brought some subtle influences, those whose temperaments changed immediately were those with low cultivation; those with high cultivation required a longer time.

He became inflated...

However, Xu Jia had even defeated the Golden-Haired Hou, Miaoshan's mount, when it occupied the Golden Light Sarira, and that wasn't even his true body descending. This little toy was something he had created and experimented on himself; how could it succeed in rebelling?

He saw a sword light slash out, and one Baiyun Chanshi turned into "three Baiyun Chanshi"; the golden nature was actually split into three.

The king of the Golden Kingdom of that year learned the Dharma from the high monk Bajie, established himself as a Bodhisattva, and refined the Sarira, wanting to pass down the Buddhist fruit position for thousands of generations. But he did not expect that the second generation would perish; the Eldest Prince, Second Prince, and Third Prince turned against each other because of this treasure, and the Bodhisattva who had lost his faith also sent down punishment.

Xu Jia split it into three parts with one sword, separating the initial Golden Light Sarira, the Golden Light Sarira polluted by the Bodhisattva, and the Golden Light Sarira later obtained through the soul-detaining and spirit-snatching of ten thousand people's blood sacrifices.

Baiyun Chanshi's Primordial Spirit was the adhesive that prevented the Golden Light Sarira from breaking and dissipating.

It was indeed a collection of three types of pure yang Dharma natures: "Geng Metal Nature," "Amitabha Nature," and "Child-Mother Golden Light Nature."

Geng Metal Nature is a Daoist nature, originating from the Yang Metal of the Yin Yang Five Elements; there is also a Yin Metal, which is Xin Metal.

Amitabha Nature is a pure Buddha Nature, something only possessed by those who have made a great vow in the Buddhist school to eternally attain the Golden Body of Amitabha.

The evil one is the "Child-Mother Golden Light Nature"; this thing was stripped from the body of an evil god or Demon God. It was Miaoshan who brought judgment upon the Buddha Kingdom, believing that its citizens did not believe in Guanyin but instead believed in their own ruler, so she commanded that wherever the golden light shone, everything would turn into gold—not just objects, but people as well—and it could absorb the Greed in human nature to grow itself, making people want to possess it by any means necessary.

This is a type of curse.

Xu Jia had only heard of it in Western legends.

A hero who slays a dragon, after occupying the dragon's treasure, will have their Greed mutate them into a new dragon.

Xu Jia took the Geng Metal Nature and struck it into the Weiji Immortal Sword; although it was an Innate Killing Sword forged from extraterrestrial Kun Steel, its material was impressive but its Dharma nature was average, which was something Xu Jia had bestowed upon it. Now that this Geng Metal Nature was added, the sword immediately birthed a Pure Yang sword spirit, its Dharma nature grew rapidly, and it gestated a solemn young boy. This was precisely the sword spirit of the Weiji Immortal Sword.

The moment he was born, he was an existence at the level of a Yang Spirit, but his murderous intent was fully exposed, and the look he gave Xu Jia could not be considered kind; it seemed he had some intention of killing the old man to regain his freedom.
