Chapter 444: Ancestor Xu Jia Fakes His Death as the Dutian Liehuo Zushi
Huashan is indeed crowded at this time.
It is not the later ages, where a large road has been built, spiraling up the mountain.
On the ancient Huashan tourist trail, it is normal for ordinary mortals to fall to their deaths if they come up; only martial arts experts with good light-body skills can reach some of the scenic viewing spots.
Only those Sword Immortals, flying back and forth, can reach these dangerous, inaccessible places.
Although Xu Jia landed, he did not attract much attention; for one, he has returned to his natural state and did not deliberately reveal any pressure, and for another, he looks young and has an easygoing appearance.
Xu Jia does not lean toward those uncultured heterodox paths, but instead lands behind the disciples of the righteous sects and factions.
Apart from Shushan, Wutai, Jiuhua Shan, and Zhongnan Mountain, the others that actually belong to the "Wuyue"—the Taishan Sect, Songshan Sect, Hengshan Sect, and Hengshan Sect—have all arrived at this time.
The one lecturing at this moment is a disciple of the Hengshan Sect.
If one speaks of this Hengshan Sect, it also has a karmic connection with Xu Jia.
Hengshan was originally the Daochang of "Lady Wei Cunhua," and she is also the orthodox successor of the "Yellow Court Inner Landscape"; she was the first to write scriptures and pass them down, and it is rumored that she received the inheritance of an Immortal from the Shangjie and later attained the Dao at Hengshan.
The Hengshan Mountain God was not Zhurong at first; it was her, but she had long since attained the Dao and ascended, not contending for worldly Incense Fire; moreover, as the "Shangqing Sect Leader," her orthodox inheritance had already gone to Maoshan.
Now, who knows how many years have passed; Maoshan has grown increasingly strong, while the local Shangqing inheritance at Hengshan has been lost several times.
A Hengshan disciple sighed: "Speaking of which, the founding ancestor of this Huashan Sect during the Tang Dynasty actually came from our Hengshan, didn't he?"
"In the genealogy of Hengshan's past ancestors, there is an Immortal named Hengshan Tonglao, who was originally the reincarnation of a Huashan Goddess from the Han Dynasty, and she studied under Ancestor Wei."
"This Huaxi Dongtian of Huashan is the place where 'Huaxi Gongzhu' of the Han Dynasty cultivated the Dao and became an Immortal; even 'Huayue Dijun' had to call her sister; later, after shedding her tribulation and reincarnating, she became that Tonglao of our Hengshan."
"Although Tonglao cultivated at Hengshan, she attained the Dao at Huashan, refining her previous life's corpse and resolving the karmic debts of three lifetimes; during this period, she also slew the demons causing chaos around Huashan and was called the Huashan Holy Mother by the common people, who built a temple for her."
"As for the later rumors that it was Sanshengmu... Sanshengmu are three other Ghost Gods, subordinates of Tonglao, and they have also been receiving offerings within Huashan to this day; they are the Holy Mother who Relieves Suffering, the Holy Mother who Bestows Children, and the Holy Mother who Cuts Flesh."
Xu Jia followed the Hengshan Sect disciples to visit the "Huashan Holy Mother Temple," where the Incense Fire had withered, and felt that this Holy Mother was not solemn or majestic at all, but rather had a petite face that seemed to reveal a mischievous cuteness.
"Ancestor Chen Tuan cultivated at Huashan and received the true scriptures from the Holy Mother in a dream, though this Holy Mother of ours also seems very proficient in heterodox paths."
Beside the Hengshan Sect followed a youth practicing the Huashan Sect's classical Foundation Establishment internal art, the "Purple Mist Foundation Establishment True Qi."
"Duan Ziyu, your ancestors were descendants of the Dali Duan clan, and you are the successor of the Southern Emperor, one of the Five Great Sword Immortals of Huashan back then. The Five Greats were five peerless Sword Immortals of that time who spent their lives pursuing the pinnacle of the sword Dao. They eventually met Ancestor Chen Tuan, who sat and discussed the Dao with them, causing them to ascend one after another. Although there was no name of master and disciple, there was the reality of it. Now that you have practiced the Huashan Sect's Foundation Establishment method, the 'Purple Mist True Qi,' you can be considered the orthodoxy of the Huashan Sect. After obtaining the Dutian Liehuo Ancestor Inheritance, you might even be able to open Ancestor Chen Tuan's stone chamber and obtain a more profound inheritance."
At the Zhongnan Mountain Tower Viewing Terrace, their numbers are very small; their Daoist lineage was almost cut off at the end of the Tang Dynasty, and later they even ceded their Daochang to the Quanzhen Dao; Ancestor Wang Zhongyang established his sect at Zhongnan Mountain.
The Quanzhen Dao already has the intention of being the leader of the northern Daoist sects, and the Tower Viewing Terrace is merely supported by them; the main reason is that a disciple has emerged from the Tower Viewing Terrace at this time who also has a karmic connection.
Back in the Tang Dynasty, after the Tower Viewing Terrace leader Qihuizi ascended in broad daylight, he left behind an Ascension Edict. Ancestor Chen Tuan once obtained this Edict to contemplate and left behind a Daoist method that had been lost to the Tower Viewing Terrace to complete the Cause and Effect.
This disciple is the one practicing the Tower Viewing Dao Formula passed down by Ancestor Chen Tuan, and he also had old ties with the True Person Wang Zhongyang. His name is Huang Yi, and he is a descendant of Huang Shang and Huang Yuanji. When Huang Yuanji was ordered to compile the Daoist Canon, he once recruited Wang Zhongyang to assist.
"Supreme Profound Origin Formula."
The "Laojun" worshipped at the Tower Viewing Terrace was decreed as the "Supreme Profound Origin Emperor."
This Supreme Profound Origin Formula is about gathering the purple mist from the east, nurturing the noble Tower and Golden Palace, and casting a Supreme Heavenly Palace to command the ten thousand gods.
Although incomplete, it is still profound enough, and it works in the same way as Xu Jia's "Body God" method.
It is just that the Body God method emphasizes the god and not the temple, while this method emphasizes the temple; if the temple exists, the god exists, and if the temple perishes, the god is destroyed. It is first casting the Dao foundation, then building the Dao platform, then the four beams and eight pillars, and finally the Primordial Spirit sets the image, placing them one by one. Li Taibai, the Green Lotus Sword Immortal, was a Tower Viewing Daoist.
He said in his poem: "In the sky is Bai Yu Jing, with twelve towers and five cities. The Immortal strokes my crown, and I tie my hair to receive Longevity."
This is the fundamental Daoist method of the Tower Viewing Terrace. The Supreme Profound Origin Formula only has the parts for Foundation Establishment and setting up the platform, but lacks the part for building the temple.
The Shushan Sect also brought people; they are all very arrogant. Shu was also very impressive back then; they once had three sword duels with the Tower Viewing Terrace. In the first duel, the Tower Viewing Terrace won; by the second and third times, the Tower Viewing Terrace was destroyed.
The person they brought is a disheveled-looking figure, like a beggar, carrying a Gourd, with a slightly tipsy complexion. He practices "Sleep Technique," but it leans toward the "Drunken Arhat." Although it is far from Ancestor Chen Tuan's Sleep Technique, the fire method he practices is similar to that of the Dutian Liehuo Zushi, capable of spitting wine and breathing fire, and flying out a flock of Fire Crows.
As for the Wutai Sect, they cannot be counted as righteous; currently, "Taiyi Hunyuan Zushi" is in charge. This Ancestor and the Dutian Liehuo Zushi are considered good friends, both are Grandmasters of heterodox paths, and there is a faint intention of the heterodox path ascending.
They truly have a disciple of the Dutian Liehuo Zushi lineage, but he is not very old. He looks like a young boy, but he did not attain the Dao in a human body; he is a Fire Silkworm from a volcano overseas that attained the Dao. Huo Can'er wants to transform into a Fire Dragon, so he must swallow the nine Divine Ability Fire Dragon Primordial Spirits left behind by the Dutian Liehuo Zushi.
His cultivation is the highest, with a full thousand years of Dharma Power, but because he is of a different species, he is also the most easily killed by righteous people to refine pills and weapons, or to be kept as a fire slave for the furnace; this is common. If the Wutai Sect had not brought him out, he would certainly not have dared to come to the mortal world.
Jiuhua Shan is the Daochang of the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Before attaining the Dao, the Dutian Liehuo Zushi was also confused and once thought of dual cultivation of Buddhism and Daoism, becoming a monk at Jiuhua Shan for a period of time and leaving behind some Daoist lineages. Now there is also a fire nun named "Shan Ren," who practices the "Fire House Contemplation," regarding the red dust of the mortal world as a fire house, constantly suffering, cooking, and frying, which is common; one can only constantly endure. This fire is not ordinary fire; it is the fire of anger, the nameless fire, the Karma Fire, the fire of desire...
In short, this can also be considered the Dutian Liehuo Zushi lineage.
These lineages that have been passed down are each very serious.
Xu Jia, who only obtained a bit of "Heavenly Fire Immortal Crystal" and came because of this karmic connection with Huogong Toutuo, is instead in the "heterodox path" wave.
Among the heterodox paths, there are not a few who practice fire methods; there are no fewer than seven or eight Dutian Liehuo Swords, and there are also many beggar-version Dutian Liehuo Qis. As for those refining Fire Crows, there are even more.
It is just that they are by no means true transmissions; they have obtained the shallow parts of the techniques, and there is not a single fundamental inheritance. It is just that they are all red, and being local to the Huashan Sect, they appear very orthodox.
They gathered together to form a group, but each had their own thoughts: "These famous righteous sects, they call themselves righteous, but each is treacherous in their thoughts, driving our Huashan orthodoxy to the side, yet they just find some random person and say they are the Huashan orthodoxy."
Xu Jia observed everything, thinking: "These heterodox paths are one thing, but the disciples brought by these righteous paths are all good materials and fine jades, with deep fortune; there is no problem in becoming an Earth Immortal, and one can even think about becoming a God Immortal or Yang Spirit. It has made me envious. Thinking of the disciples, grand-disciples, and great-grand-disciples I have taken in several worlds, they are all mediocre talents. Without relying on my Register method, they are all ordinary people. Although I don't mean to look down on them, they don't have the ability to lead the team further."
Xu Jia's eyes turned, and he immediately came up with an idea: "Then it would be better if I fake my death, pretend to be the resurrected Dutian Liehuo Zushi, and take you all into my sect."
"Whatever, even if the Dutian Liehuo Zushi hasn't ascended to the Dharma Realm, I'm not afraid of him. Anyway, I don't have the idea of ascending alone. Waiting for the whole world to ascend in dimension, breaking through from the Desire Realm into the Dharma Realm, I'm afraid I will have already achieved great cultivation and won't fear him."
"He might not have as much Merit as I do; my playing him actually gives him face."
Plus, Huashan is indeed a famous mountain and great river, suitable for establishing a lineage. Xu Jia's Lingbao lineage is still struggling to preach in the Da Mo of the Western Regions; that place is Buddhist territory, and now they have also supported the Sacred Fire Sect.
It is better to directly replace the Dutian Liehuo Zushi; rather than being carved up by other sects, it is better to be occupied by me, so that the lineage and Dharma treasures can be preserved.
Xu Jia's flexible moral bottom line quickly gained the upper hand.
They still have to preside over some kind of sacrifice to lead the Cave Heaven and open the gate of inheritance.
Xu Jia, however, moved his sword formula, broke through the Dharma Realm with the "Unfinished" state, used the "Heavenly Escape" passed down by the White Ape, and quickly escaped into the "Huaxi Dongtian."
Huashan actually only has one Cave Heaven, but there are several entrances, divided into the Huayang Dongtian entrance, the Huayin Dongtian entrance, and the Huaxi Dongtian entrance. The three Cave Heaven entrances each connect to a stone chamber, which are respectively the places of the Dutian Liehuo Zushi, Ancestor Chen Tuan, and the rumored God Court of the Huashan deities.
The Dutian Liehuo Zushi cultivated in the Huaxi Dongtian stone chamber.
Xu Jia is not a person of this world and has obscured the heavenly secrets, so even the Mud Bodhisattva cannot calculate it. Although various sects have their schemes, they are unaware that a Yang Spirit Great True Person has personally entered the field to seize the Dutian Liehuo Zushi's inheritance.
As soon as Xu Jia appeared, the nine Fire Dragons woke up and asked in confusion: "Isn't it supposed to be a few more hours before appearing in the world? Why is it early?"
But they saw Xu Jia turn slightly, his Dharma Power turning into Heavenly Fire Dharma Power. With a burn of the Pure Yang Heavenly Fire, the third-rate inheritance of Huogong Toutuo's "Dutian Liehuo Sword" all displayed a first-rate level.
Although the nine Fire Dragons were stupid, it was impossible for them to just let Xu Jia in, so they immediately bared their fangs and brandished their claws.
