Chapter 89: Author's Note on Release

Dear readers, "I Am an Immortal of Heaven and Earth" is about to be released on the shelves.

It was originally scheduled for release on April 1st, but due to my grandmother passing away and having to attend the funeral, followed by falling ill with vomiting and diarrhea and being hospitalized for three days, the release was postponed.

Come to think of it, this is the fifth book I have written (counting the one on my secondary account). The first, "Northern Profound Gate," was a work of ignorance, written with a heart full of passion; at the time, the initial subscriptions were 36, and it slowly grew to 800 subscriptions later on.

The second book was "After Becoming a Daoist Physician," which achieved boutique status and now has an average of five thousand subscriptions. This book gave me great confidence and passion for writing, though of course, I also stepped into a few pitfalls.

The third book was "Strange Tales: Words Not Spoken," written on my secondary account. Because the plot exceeded my control, it turned from writing folklore and strange tales into a rebellion... so it was gone...

The third book could be considered the one where I truly achieved results, "Heaven Official of Fortune and Virtue," which reached ten thousand subscriptions. It was a novel in the Innate Divine Dao genre, but it also stepped on many landmines. I caught COVID twice during it, which left my brain empty, so I deviated from the theme and wrote chaotically about the extraterrestrial battlefield and the demonic path clone...

However, I managed to bite the bullet and finish it. Although it wasn't perfect, it was brought to a proper conclusion.

The final result saw the average subscriptions drop by three thousand five hundred, settling at over six thousand.

Thus, we have this current book. In this one, I have eliminated all the pitfalls I stepped into in the previous ones.

From my own perspective, this is a book where my writing style and even my narrative method are relatively mature and improved.

But this book has also been plagued by disasters, and many things happened during this time that I was powerless to change. I had repeatedly wanted to give up on this book, but in the end, I thought, this is my life's work; I already have so many regrets, I cannot have one more.

A person cannot be crushed by a single blow. No matter what, I must live positively and not exhaust myself to death.

For this book, my initial goal was actually just to "tell a good story," so I will downplay the leveling progression, though I will not abandon it entirely. Therefore, I removed the cumbersome realms and left only three major realms.

Of course, in accordance with my style, these realms are well-researched and extracted from traditional culture.

If everyone is tired of leveling-up power fantasies and formulaic stories, perhaps you can try this book of mine. I am better at telling stories in a slow, flowing manner, with cause and effect, and my writing style is more childlike, like a combination of fairy tales and folklore.

Of course, besides the various hardships this book has experienced, I have also received a lot of help.
