Entropy is a sealed荒神 (荒神), later becoming a deity of the Karanoks.

At some point, Tiamat secretly acquired its aspect, then broke free from control and gained freedom.

It is a very strange entity, a massive destructive black hole that no power—whether divine, magical, or mortal—can stop.

Worship of Entropy includes terrible rituals and human sacrifice (especially of wizards). Entropy's priests are raised in hatred of magic.

The only temple known in the Realms dedicated to Entropy is located in the city of Luthcheq; this temple is wrapped inside a massive hemisphere of black glass.

Timeline

In 1161 DR, the Karanoks gained control of Luthcheq under highly suspicious circumstances; although full records of the events that occurred at the time were destroyed, people still speculate that assassinations and similar acts likely took place, because that ancient noble family vanished from that point onward, leaving no descendants. The House of Karanok ruled the city in a strange but relatively very effective manner, waging war against other city-states in the typical Chessentan style. In 1324 DR, Luthcheq invaded Mordulkin, which had suffered heavy losses due to plague, but was defeated by the latter. Blaming the wizard spies serving Mordulkin, the Karanoks became obsessed with destroying wizards.

Around 1346 DR, an especially massive destructive black hole appeared within the largest mansion of the House of Karanok; this sphere materialized in the center of an interrogation room and completely destroyed the wizard being tortured there. Taking this as an omen, family members began worshipping this planar alien entity they called Entropy. They rebuilt the mansion, converting the location of Entropy into the main hall of a temple, and the Karanoks began a blind non-divine faith, hoping this would help them achieve their goals.

In the second half of 1370 DR, Tiamat used her own power to alter this sphere, enabling it to conduct her energy, and began providing divine spells to the nobles of the House of Karanok under the guise of Entropy. She also caused the sphere to generate several smaller spheres that family members could manipulate; the Karanoks likewise worshipped these small spheres and learned to summon low-level reptilian monsters called abishai to carry out their will and the will of Entropy.
