Chapter 2

【Welcome to the Cheater's Tavern!】

As soon as Su Yang opened his eyes, he found that he had left the cell and arrived in a strange region.

He looked at the surrounding scene and found that this was an old-fashioned tavern, with traces of time remaining everywhere.

A clock hung on the wall, with the hour and minute hands pointing exactly at twelve o'clock.

An old bar counter, lingering smoke, pungent alcohol, strange-looking creatures...

In the center of the tavern was a large round table covered with cracks and stains, and five revolvers were placed on the table.

At the other tables sat monsters with beast heads and human bodies; they were tasting fine wine, and they only cast a scrutinizing glance at the five people who suddenly appeared before looking away.

Then they continued chatting, speaking a language Su Yang couldn't understand.

"Gibberish?"

"Gibberish!"

To the left of where Su Yang stood was a large window, with moonlight shining in and reflecting off the dim lights.

Five stools were placed in front of him, with two people standing on each side.

Two men and two women.

Plus himself, it was exactly the number of participants in this game.

Su Yang took a deep breath, suppressed the shock in his heart, and examined the 'Players' present.

The man and woman standing on the left were of similar age, estimated to be around 30 years old.

The man had a scholarly temperament, wore a pair of ordinary black-rimmed glasses, had a slightly high hairline, a greasy and sallow complexion, and heavy dark circles under his eyes.

The woman was wearing cartoon pajamas, her face still carrying fear and helplessness toward the unknown, her palms gripping the back of the stool tightly, veins protruding.

The man and woman on the right were relatively calm, but their slightly twitching eyes betrayed their inner thoughts.

"Only one person can survive?" Su Yang frowned.

That is to say, among the four people present, one will have their head blown off by the revolvers placed on the table.

All five were examining each other, and no one spoke during this time.

Although Su Yang couldn't be omniscient, he could guess everyone's psychological state from their appearance and reactions.

At this moment, a creature with a bull's head and human body brought a deck of cards to the table and slowly placed them in the center of the round table.

Then it stood to the side, arms crossed, looking straight ahead.

It seemed it would only start the game after the five people were in position.

Su Yang's talent in his hand was 'Deception', and he needed to rely on this talent to win the game.

"The other four people also have talents, but I don't know the specific content, so it's better to be careful." Su Yang remained silent.

Two minutes later, the woman in cartoon pajamas broke the silence first.

"Do you know what's going on? Why do we have to play this meaningless game? Wouldn't we all survive if we didn't play?"

The man on the left pushed up his black-rimmed glasses. "Based on the current situation, everyone in the world has been teleported into the game; this should be some kind of curse, or perhaps some kind of 'shuffling'."

"'Shuffling'?" the woman on the right asked curiously.

"That's right, this situation cannot be deduced with normal logic; we have all been locked in a prison, which in itself is an incredible thing." The bespectacled man nodded.

"Which prison are you in? I'm in No. 881." The big man on the right asked.

"I'm also in No. 881, I'm in Cell No. 1284." The woman in cartoon pajamas answered first.

"Same, I'm in Cell No. 5666." The glamorous woman on the right nodded.

"Me too, but I'm on the first floor, 108." The bespectacled man said.

Su Yang listened silently to collect information.

Judging from what was said so far, this prison has at least fifty floors.

One hundred players per floor, which means at least five thousand people are being held.

Each floor is three meters high, so this prison building is at least one hundred and fifty meters tall.

Twenty-five cells in each direction, each cell is five meters long and five meters wide, which is a total length and width of one hundred and twenty-five meters.

Building such a large structure is not something that can be done overnight, and using it specifically to hold prisoners to play games is obviously impractical.

Subsequently, the four of them looked at Su Yang in unison, their eyes filled with suspicion.

"No. 213." Su Yang said.

"It seems this game is gathering players by prison unit." The bespectacled man nodded slightly, his gaze lingering on the glamorous woman for a moment before moving away.

"You should have all heard of or watched TV shows or movies about Battle Royale or Death Games, right?"

"No..." the pajama woman shook her head.

"I've played Battle Royale games, but I haven't heard of the Death Game you're talking about." A faint murderous look appeared in the big man's eyes.

He seemed to recall some things before coming here.

"If it weren't for the manipulation of beings like gods behind the scenes, it would be impossible for us to be collectively teleported to such a large building as a prison." The bespectacled man rubbed the grease on his nose and wiped his hand on his trouser leg.

"Whether it's a god or not, we have to play this game, right?" The glamorous woman saw his action, a flash of disgust and aversion in her eyes, and said softly:

"True or false, won't we know after playing once?"

The pajama woman looked timidly at the other woman present and whispered, "I don't want to play the game, I just want to go home."

Hearing this, the big man suddenly stepped forward, sat on the stool, and slapped the table hard. "Go home my ass, I've had enough of that shitty world; anyway, I'm dead if I owe eight hundred thousand from stock trading, so I might as well play the game."

As soon as these words were spoken, the scene fell into silence.

The fierce temperament of the big man was completely out of place with everyone present, and no one knew what he did for a living outside.

And no one knew whether what he said about owing money from stock trading was true or false.

The bespectacled man clenched his fists, followed his example, pulled out a stool, and sat down without saying a word.

Seeing this, the big man snorted and cast his gaze toward Su Yang.

"How about you?"

Su Yang met his gaze, and after staring at each other for a while, he chose to sit in the seat closest to him.

"What about you two? Are you playing or not? Stop being such sissies." The big man said impatiently.

The glamorous woman gently brushed the hair in front of her forehead behind her ear and sat to the right of the big man.

The remaining pajama woman was a bit scared, and after being scolded by the big man, tears ran down her face.

"I... I'm not playing!"

After speaking, the pajama woman immediately ran toward the door, wanting to escape this hellhole.

However, just as she stepped onto the threshold, a force suddenly bounced her back, and she hit the wall heavily.

【Those who escape the Death Game space, die!】

This was the first and only warning.

If she committed the offense again, it would be the end of being erased.

"I don't want to play, is that not okay? I just want to go home..." the pajama woman said with a sobbing voice.

"Go home your mother."

The big man really couldn't take it anymore; he got up, went to her side, grabbed her clothes, and dragged her all the way to the last seat.

"Let go of me, you pervert, don't touch me with your dirty hands!" The pajama woman struggled constantly, her nails scratching across his arm, leaving bloody marks.

"Slap!"

The big man slapped her directly and said viciously: "If you want to die, go die, don't drag me down."

The pajama woman was directly stunned, sitting in her seat in a daze, despair crawling all over her face.

When the big man returned to his seat, all five were seated.
