Chapter 680: Murder to Silence? If You're Afraid of Dying, Step Aside!
A gentle cold wind brushed past everyone's faces.
It's autumn now, supposed to be clear and crisp, yet an inexplicable bone‑chilling cold is felt.
They don't know whether this aura comes from the Dungeon or from Su Yang.
"Treasure?" Tang Youning looked around, tilted his head toward Su Yang's back and asked, "What treasure could be in this damned place?"
"Brother Tang, are you truly foolish or just playing dumb? You should know what I'm talking about," Su Yang said calmly.
"As far as I know, Su Xiong, our relationship hasn't reached the point of frank honesty yet, has it?"
"If there is treasure, you'd surely claim it immediately; there's no way you'd waste time here chatting with a Slave."
"And even less likely to share the information."
"And the deal you just mentioned... perhaps this Silver Coin in my hand is the key to opening the Treasure?" Tang Youning twirled the Silver Coin between his fingers, a hint of nonchalance in his eyes.
From Su Yang's attitude and words, it's clear he's currently constrained by some Shackle.
Thus seizing the initiative becomes quite important.
"Not to hide from you, I truly can't enter the Treasure Room alone; I need your help," Su Yang said.
Zhai Sixin stepped forward half a pace and said, "How would I know if the place you mention is a Trap?"
"The rules say players may not fight each other, but they don't forbid using existing mechanisms to kill!"
"I believe you all have played many Death Games and must have seen similar scenes; Plot Kill and Terrain Kill are not covered by the rules."
Seeing the tension rise, Li Zhenhua stepped forward and said, "How about we first check the place Su Laodie mentioned before drawing conclusions."
"Fine, I have no objection," Yu Meng nodded slightly.
"I have no objection either; we have no clue now, so we can only place our hope in Mr. Su," Liang Kaiqi agreed.
"Go ahead," Tang Youning gestured with his hand.
Su Yang watched their double‑act and sneered inwardly.
He thought Tang Youning was probably the first player to discover the Dungeon, perhaps inviting others to 'bolster his courage' out of fear of death.
On the surface it appears to share information, but in fact it coerces Su Yang, who entered the Dungeon first, into a move.
"Brother Tang, brother Tang, it seems you still can't stop a dog from eating feces; your methods remain insidious," Su Yang glanced at him then shifted his gaze to Ariana's face.
Seeing her bewildered expression, he softly reassured, "Don't worry, I will definitely get you out."
"Sir, please be careful!" Ariana reached out, but suddenly felt Tang Youning's cold stare and timidly withdrew her hand.
Su Yang noticed the oddity, chuckled lightly, "Don't worry, he's just a toothless Tiger, only capable of roaring, not biting."
Tang Youning's patience waned, urging, "Su Xiong, if you want to keep stalling, why not we go back for lunch before coming down?"
"No need for a meal; I'm full just seeing you."
Having said that, Su Yang waved at Ariana and turned toward the far end.
Tang Youning let out a cold snort, "Follow."
The seven moved slowly in single file, and by the light of Su Yang's Kerosene Lamp they saw many shocking sights.
"This Ancient Castle truly is bizarre!" Yu Meng said gravely.
"It seems they are ordinary people captured by the Count," Liang Kaiqi's eyes flashed with a faint, barely perceptible pity.
"Why did the Count capture them?" Huang Zhenzhong asked curiously.
"Didn't you hear Su Yang just now? They're all goods for sale," Li Zhenhua explained, tilting his head.
"Slave master?" Huang Zhenzhong blurted.
"Seems so, and the secrecy is thorough; we've been here almost two days without spotting any trace," Yu Meng said.
"Things that can't see the light must be hidden deep," Tang Youning replied, then added, "I'm now curious whether Diana, who lives in the Cellar, already discovered this secret."
"You mean... murder to silence?" Li Zhenhua whispered.
"We can't rule that out; the possibility is even very high," Tang Youning nodded.
"By your logic, the Count is quite foolish," Yu Meng offered a different view, adding, "Consider why a hidden industry would place a lover in a Cellar separated by only a single wall."
"Isn't that a blatant hint at her secret?"
Liang Kaiqi nodded silently and said, "Don't forget, the victim was surrounded by eight people at death, each taking turns to abuse."
"The cause of death is unknown for now, and the motive is also unknowable."
"Our primary task is to dig out the motive."
"Someone probably already knows this and is keeping it concealed."
Su Yang halted, turned around and teased, "Brother Tang really won't miss any chance to slander me; even standing in front of you I could gossip."
"Enough chatter, where exactly are you taking us?" Tang Youning said, displeased.
"Open your eyes and take a good look," Su Yang gestured.
The group snapped back to attention, looking ahead.
"This..." Li Zhenhua stared in stunned amazement.
There's actually a Stone Gate here?!
The other players' expressions varied, but all their gazes reflected shock.
While still surprised, Tang Youning lowered his gaze and saw two notches on the gate.
He instinctively clenched the Silver Coin, understanding dawning inside him.
"So that's it, Su Xiong came up with this idea!"
Su Yang neither confirmed nor denied, saying, "I originally intended to keep this secret to myself, but since you all are here, let's just go in together to hunt for treasure."
"If I hadn't discovered this entrance, I'm sure after you leave you'd find a way to take the Silver Coin from me and Zhai Xiaojie, wouldn't you?"
"You who know me, Brother Tang," Su Yang smiled faintly.
Tang Youning let out a cold snort, lifted his chin and said, "Take out the Silver Coin."
Zhai Sixin, upon hearing that, produced the token belonging to the Davidson Family.
"Friendly reminder, I have never entered this door, so I do not know whether it hides any traps," Su Yang said.
"If you're afraid of dying, step aside," Tang Youning said.
Su Yang slightly lifted his eyelids, his Smile undiminished, and yielded his position.
"Hold on!" Li Zhenhua pressed Tang Youning's hand and said gravely, "I have an ominous premonition."
"So?" Tang Youning retorted.
"I think we should devise a plan before acting, to ensure nothing goes wrong," Li Zhenhua said.
Tang Youning glanced at the Su Yang Vision Perception of the play, "Even if there is danger inside, we must open it; otherwise, dragging this out further wastes another day."
Zhai Sixin nodded in agreement, "We have searched the Ancient Castle inside and out; at present, only entering this door offers a sliver of hope."
"Otherwise…"
"Everyone will die!"
