Chapter 27

Your Majesty, these are the talents who have come over these days to serve our Han Empire. This person beside me is from the Yingchuan Xun clan, the nephew of Lord Xun Yu, Xun You, also known as Xun Gongda. He is a person of great talent. After Your Majesty ordered me to issue the Recruitment Proclamation, he was the first to come forward to serve.

In the Main Hall, after everyone had taken their seats according to rank, Lu Zhi looked at the refined middle-aged scholar seated to his lower side and introduced him to Liu Bian.

Beloved Minister Lu, you have worked hard these days and recruited many talents for our Han Empire; I will first record a merit for you, and after the court assembly we will bestow rewards together.

Upon hearing that this person was Xun You, Liu Bian was overjoyed; he had been wondering when he would meet Xun Yu to tell him, but he hadn't expected Xun You himself to come.

'Sharing Your Majesty's worries is the duty of this old minister; I dare not claim credit…' Lu Zhi hastily rose and respectfully said to Liu Bian.

Gesturing that Lu Zhi need not stand on ceremony, after sitting down, Liu Bian used the Probe Eye on Xun You.

……

'Your Majesty, this is Gongda's good friend, Xi Zhong, Xi Zhicai…'

This one is Zhicai's fellow schoolmate; he and Zhicai are both disciples of Master Shuijing Sima Hui of the Yingchuan Academy…

This one is Tian Feng, also known as Tian Yuanhao…

'This one is…'

As Lu Zhi introduced them one by one, Liu Bian used the Probe Eye to examine everyone's attributes.

Name: Guo Jia

Age: 18

Realm: Unranked

Status: Commoner

Talent: Heaven's Ultimate Extreme Grade

Physique: Strategic Heaven Holy Body (Unawakened)

Cultivation Method: None

Loyalty: 70

He discovered that, among these people, aside from Guo Jia, Xi Zhicai, Xun You, Tian Feng, Chen Gong, and Xu You—six individuals he knew of as notable figures—the rest were obscure nobodies.

However, through chatting with Liu Bian and the others, he found that they all possessed genuine talent and learning; serving as a Jun Prefect would pose no problem for them.

They must have been individuals who appeared briefly and then died off; otherwise, how could there be no records of their deeds?

Among the crowd, Guo Jia's physique was the strongest, having reached the Holy Body level, the Strategic Heaven Holy Body.

Xi Zhicai possessed an Immortal-grade physique, the Judgment Immortal Body; Chen Gong and Tian Feng possessed an Emperor-grade physique; Xu You possessed a King-grade physique; the other six had no special physiques.

From this we can see the importance of historical figures; even the worst among them possess a King Body.

However, the loyalty of everyone is not very high, all above seventy; as long as Liu Bian does not faint, there is no danger of rebellion.

Liu Bian was not overly concerned about this; first, the people had just come to serve, so their loyalty could not be high; second, as they began cultivation, their loyalty would gradually reach its peak.

Soon, the crowd was chatting enthusiastically; Guo Jia and the others subtly asked Liu Bian a few questions, and he gave perfect replies.

Immediately they all felt that Liu Bian was a wise ruler worthy of their loyalty and support, and they promptly expressed their allegiance to him.

'I am very pleased with your loyalty; you are all pillars of the Han Empire. Follow me, and I will never let you down. I hope you will continue to serve me, the Han, and the people of Tian Xia. Here, I fear not your talent being too great, but your lacking talent.' Liu Bian began to paint a grand vision for the few.

'My vision is not limited to the entire Han Empire…

'This world is vast; do not confine yourself to the Han Empire alone.' These historical scholars are not easily fooled; they are very shrewd!

If it weren't for Liu Bian's memories of his past life and the system backing him up, he might not be able to keep these people in check.

'Beloved Minister Lu, look at these people and see which positions are still vacant; temporarily assign them for now. Currently, among the local officials of the Sili region, some posts are still empty; you must arrange suitable positions for everyone.' Liu Bian gave everyone a stern glance and solemnly said to Lu Zhi.

'Please rest assured, Your Majesty; I have already arranged suitable positions according to each person's strengths.' Lu Zhi hastily said to Liu Bian.

'Good, Beloved Minister, handle the affairs; I am at ease. As for Guo Jia, Xi Zhong, Chen Gong, Tian Feng, and Xun You—five individuals—I will personally assign their offices!' Upon hearing this, the surrounding crowd all cast envious glances at the five.

To gain Liu Bian's favor means they will undoubtedly become core figures of the Han Empire.

'Gongda will inherit the post of Prefect of Jingzhao; Yuanhao will inherit the post of Prefect of Henan; Chen Gong will serve as Military Advisor of the Xiliang Army, assisting Lü Bu; Xi Zhicai will serve as Military Advisor of the Bingzhou Army, assisting Zhang Liao. Guo Jia, you will first follow me, may participate in state affairs, and receive the Fourth Rank Salary; later I will assign you an important post.'

Liu Bian quickly arranged everyone's appointments and immediately conferred their positions upon them.

'We thank Your Majesty and will lay down our lives for you!' The crowd immediately knelt on the ground and excitedly thanked Liu Bian.

'Now that you are all officials of the Han Empire, I can also reveal the empire's secrets to you. I will now impart the Han Empire's Martial Cultivation Method to you; if you have any questions, you may ask Lord Lu.'

Since everyone's loyalty is sufficient, Liu Bian intends to impart the cultivation method to them, lest they fall far behind later.

'System, impart the Vast Righteous Qi Method to these few people.' Having said that to the crowd, without paying heed to Guo Jia and the others' doubts, he issued the command to the system.

At the moment they were doubtful, a massive surge of information flooded into everyone's minds; just as they were about to faint from the impact of this massive information, Liu Bian's low voice suddenly rang out in their minds.

'Steady your hearts and minds, and fully receive the memory.'

Beside them, Lu Zhi looked at their sorry state and couldn't help shaking his head with a wry smile.

Thinking back, he and the others felt they were about to be burst apart by that powerful surge of information, and how similar their current state was to that.

Soon, everyone finished receiving the information in their minds.

The few immediately bowed to the ground before Liu Bian, excitedly saying, 'We thank Your Majesty for imparting the power!!'

'All rise; these are no secret. Every official of the Han Empire practices the Martial Dao Cultivation Method. You started later than them, so from now on you must cultivate diligently and not fall too far behind.'

Looking at them as they rose, their faces flushed with fervor, Liu Bian solemnly admonished them.

We subjects obey the edict; from now on we will surely cultivate diligently to relieve Your Majesty's worries.

Seeing the solemn promises of those few people, Liu Bian nodded at once.

"Alright, Beloved Minister Lu, you will arrange an Imperial Mansion for them later, close to My Imperial Palace." Finally, Liu Bian recalled that among Guo Jia and the others, some were commoners who still had no residence in Luoyang City, and he immediately arranged this with Lu Zhi.

Old Minister obeys the edict!

We subjects thank Your Majesty!

Everything has been arranged for you all; next, let's go with Me to see where the military officers are, to see how many military officers you have recruited for My Han Dynasty.
