Chapter 18: Spirit-Gathering Array

Su Wuji's words left Su Yuntu and Su Jin staring in shock, their eyes wide.

"Really?" Su Jin asked hurriedly.

"Really. I heard it from a senior brother who is very close to me," Su Wuji said. "I happened to meet him at the main gate of the Clan Academy today.

He specifically pulled me aside to a hidden spot to tell me this news. He also said that someone in his class obtained this news yesterday."

"They really give out a First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array? That's too much happiness, isn't it?" Su Yuntu said, his face full of surprise. "I haven't even touched a First-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array. Our Clan Academy is too generous."

"The Spirit-Gathering Array is for us to use, but ownership belongs to the Clan Academy, not us. We are merely borrowing it. So you don't need to be too excited. When we can no longer use the Spirit-Gathering Array handed to us, we must return it to the Clan Academy. So you must absolutely not break the Spirit-Gathering Array that is distributed. You will have to pay for it," Su Wuji said. "Besides, what is this compared to? For the few classes above us, the top ten in the class are directly given a Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array," Su Wuji said in a cool tone.

"What?" Su Yuntu lost his composure immediately. "They actually give out Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Arrays?"

Su Wuji nodded to confirm. "That's right. The Hongtong Secret Realm is a resource-type Secret Realm; the resources inside are extremely abundant, and too many people want to go. I heard there is a Spirit Lake formed by gathered spirit liquid inside that Secret Realm. Just take any vessel for spirit water inside, and you can bring back several jin of spirit liquid.

Can you imagine such a good thing?

Usually, when our relatives and friends buy spirit liquid, they buy it by the drop. Ten drops of First-Grade Low-Grade spirit liquid cost three Spirit Stones.

There are also various other rare and precious spiritual items inside; I heard someone even brought out a piece of Geng Metal the size of a human fist from there!

That is a good thing for refining one's innate flying sword.

The only bad thing is that it is not entirely safe there; there are many low-level demonic beasts.

To gather resources inside, one must first eliminate those low-level demonic beasts that guard the resources by lying in wait.

That is why the Clan Academy gives us Spirit-Gathering Arrays, wanting us to improve our cultivation and combat power as much as possible.

Moreover, the number of spots to enter the Secret Realm is limited.

In our Clan Academy, only the top ten students in each class of the second year and above are qualified to enter.

For us in the first year, only the students who break through to the second layer of Qi Condensation after one year can barely obtain entry qualification.

Now the Clan Academy gives us, the students who have already broken through to the first layer of Qi Condensation, a First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array; it is estimated they want us to break through to the second layer of Qi Condensation earlier.

If many students break through to the second layer of Qi Condensation within this year, a selection based on merit will be needed later.

At that time, we might even be subjected to an assessment. Only the top ten in each class with good grades will obtain the spots.

That senior brother told me that the resources in the Hongtong Secret Realm are too abundant; even some spiritual herbs for refining Foundation Establishment Pills are there.

Even if we only find one or two Foundation Establishment herbs and bring them out, we will make a fortune."

"Absolutely not. If you encounter Foundation Establishment herbs, everyone must stay far away. That is seeking death," Su Yuntu said, his face changing color immediately upon hearing "Foundation Establishment herbs." "I heard my father say that for one or two Foundation Establishment herbs, those scattered cultivators outside, whether husband and wife, father and son, or brothers, will kill each other, fighting to the death.

If we enter the Hongtong Secret Realm, it won't be only people from our family; there are also many sect disciples and scattered cultivators from outside.

We are young and have low cultivation; fighting them for Foundation Establishment herbs is simply asking for death.

Su Wuji, don't be too greedy. Otherwise, in the end, we will have to collect your corpse."

Hearing these words, Su Wuji immediately glared at him with a bad temper.

"Then for us, who broke through to the first layer of Qi Condensation early to begin with, and with the assistance of the Spirit-Gathering Array for cultivation, by next year, I feel we might even break through to the third layer of Qi Condensation.

If we are all at the third layer of Qi Condensation, do we still have to participate in the assessment together with those classmates who have broken through to the second layer of Qi Condensation?" Su Jin asked in confusion.

"I estimate not. There must be some special arrangement in the Clan Academy for those who break through to the third layer of Qi Condensation," Su Wuji said.

"Then what will that arrangement be?" Su Yuntu asked hurriedly.

"Ahem, everyone can ask her when Instructor Liu announces this news," Su Wuji directly passed the buck.

"I didn't expect entering the Hongtong Secret Realm to be so difficult?" Su Yuntu said in shock.

"What difficulty is this?" Su Wuji said with a pout. "It turns out we entered school late and suffered the loss. The senior brothers and sisters of other grades are given Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Arrays. They get better Spirit-Gathering Arrays, so their cultivation speed must be faster than ours."

When he first heard that senior brother mention that they were given Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Arrays, he was truly both angry and envious.

"You say that, and I suddenly feel the First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array isn't that good anymore," Su Yuntu sighed.

Everyone is not a fool; a Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array must have more powerful functions than a First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array and gather more Qi.

"I think you are the fools! You must have been blinded by greed.

With our cultivation level, even using a Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array would be a waste, okay? Using a First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array is already superfluous for us.

It is very likely the Spirit-Gathering Array absorbs a large mass of Qi, but we can only absorb a tiny bit. The remaining Qi, not absorbed in time, will just scatter and drift away.

The most critical thing is, I heard my older brother say that opening a First-Grade Medium-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array every day consumes three Spirit Stones.

Then opening a First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array every day will consume even more Spirit Stones.

A Second-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array goes without saying.

While you are eyeing those higher-grade Spirit-Gathering Arrays, can you first think about whether your family's savings are enough to support the consumption of continuously using high-grade Spirit-Gathering Arrays?

If you don't have enough Spirit Stones, you can't use any Spirit-Gathering Array.

Even if you all have enough Spirit Stones in hand, everyone must also consider whether we will be wasting Spirit Stones in vain.

The Spirit Stones in our hands are not blown in by the wind.

They are all hard-earned by our closest family members, okay?"

Su Jin calmly analyzed the situation for the two of them.

Su Wuji and Su Yuntu, whose brains were hot and bodies burning with fever, suddenly became sober.

The Spirit-Gathering Array is a good thing, but it must suit you.

Otherwise, what you get is not a benefit.

"Then what should we do?" Su Yuntu started worrying again.

"If it really is distributed as a First-Grade High-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array, then just take it directly to Instructor Liu and see if they can exchange it for a First-Grade Low-Grade Spirit-Gathering Array. I think this kind is enough for us to use," Su Jin said.

The key is that it is sufficient and consumes fewer Spirit Stones.

Even for a family like hers, it is affordable.
