Chapter 67: Disdain
Liu Shi left, and Su Linyuan, Su Yunhu, and Yang Guan arrived.
Liu Shi was urgently called away.
Su Linyuan, Su Yunhu, and Yang Guan fled here in utter disarray.
They carried bundles large and small, just like refugees.
“Why did you bring so much?” Su Jin stared in astonishment. “Over thirty bundles?”
“All of it’s Su Linyuan’s—he packed one bundle per outfit. Just clothes, he filled over ten bundles. Yang Guan brought plenty too. I brought the least—only one!” Su Yunhu grumbled, burdened by a long string of packages.
Su Wuji, Su Cheng, and Su Jin all looked at Su Linyuan with reverence.
“Su Linyuan, get yourself a high-capacity storage ring next time,” Su Wuji said bluntly.
“Got it. No problem,” Su Linyuan replied at once.
“I’m telling you, the Second Classroom is completely insane—everyone’s lost their minds, smashing everything.”
Su Yunhu was drenched in sweat—all cold sweat.
Terrified!!
As he set down his bundles, he spoke.
“You’re too timid. We only needed to pack and leave. But you had to tell them where we were going. They got angry, and you panicked so badly you couldn’t even finish packing.”
“If I hadn’t dragged you out, you’d still be trapped over there,” Su Linyuan couldn’t help but complain, disdainful of Su Yunhu’s loose lips and cowardice.
“How was I supposed to know they’d go that crazy?” Su Yunhu felt genuinely terrified.
“How could they not? They endure daily torment from insufficient spiritual energy, dreaming of breaking through Qi Refining Second Layer to live in the Third Classroom with abundant energy.”
“And now I’m the one who gets to enjoy it ahead of them.”
“Of course they’re furious,” Yang Guan added, joining the complaint against Su Yunhu.
If he’d just packed quietly, said nothing, and left immediately after, none of this would’ve happened.
Now all three of us were trapped at the door.
If Su Linyuan and I hadn’t stood there with fierce expressions, ready to fight our way out—
We might’ve been stuck in the Second Classroom for hours.
Of course, the main reason we escaped so quickly was because Liu Shi arrived.
Su Yunhu looked guilty.
“I really did say too much. I thought we were all classmates—telling them wouldn’t matter. After all, we only got this chance because we’re about to break through Qi Refining Second Layer.”
“I never imagined our usual polite classmates would suddenly fly into a rage.”
“And they tried to grab us and wouldn’t let us go.”
Faced with so much anger, he froze in terror.
“I was just teasing you,” Su Linyuan replied immediately. “If you’d panicked and stayed, they’d be thrilled—another fool to keep them company.”
Su Yunhu nearly exploded from rage.
Where the hell did this cruel bastard come from?
“Liu Shi went over—there’s no problem,” Su Cheng said.
“I never thought such a small thing would make everyone turn on us,” Su Yunhu said.
“You’re too naive. Look around—there are six of us here. The top ten spots in the class now have only four left. Who doesn’t want to fight for one? Of course they’re desperate, furious, and willing to tear each other apart—it’s normal,” Yang Guan scolded him. “This is just anger and broken faces—wait till they come up with some underhanded trick for you. If you keep clinging to ‘classmate friendship’ and can’t bear to be harsh, you’d better quit and go home. This place isn’t for you.”
“Hey hey, Yang Guan, I just realized you’re just as venomous as Su Linyuan,” Su Yunhu snapped.
“I think venomous speech still belongs to Brother Wuji,” Su Cheng immediately disagreed.
Su Jin quickly agreed.
Su Wuji: What’s that supposed to mean? You trying to label me as venomous?
"Is now really the time to argue over who’s the most venomous?" Su Wuji snapped. "Start cultivating immediately, or you won’t even keep a spot in the top ten—you’ll be sent to the neighboring sect."
"Why would we be sent to the neighboring sect if we lose our place in the top ten?" Su Yunhu asked, puzzled.
“Each Classroom can only accommodate so many students—ten is the limit. Beyond that, spiritual energy becomes insufficient.”
“When everyone’s cultivation progress is similar, the top ten get assigned to one Classroom,” Su Wuji said.
Su Yunhu’s face twitched.
Su Linyuan and Yang Guan burst out laughing.
The six fell silent. Three resumed activating the Spirit Gathering Array to cultivate; the three newcomers hurried to settle their belongings.
Once settled, they would begin cultivating.
After packing, Su Yunhu tried several times to calm his mind and begin cultivation—but failed.
His thoughts churned uncontrollably.
Life in the clan school was utterly unsuitable for him.
After struggling for a long while, he still couldn’t enter a state—so much so that he disrupted Su Jin’s cultivation, since he sat closest to her.
Su Jin paused her cultivation and looked at him, eyes questioning.
“I don’t know why today, but I just can’t calm down enough to cultivate,” Su Yunhu whispered.
Su Jin immediately poured him a bowl of Ice-Chen Dew, then gestured for him to drink it and get back to cultivating.
Su Yunhu was deeply moved.
Fine—he’d stick with the clan school after all. At least here, he had loyal companions.
If he stayed home alone, where would he find anyone so kind to him?
“Are you sure Su Jin isn’t just annoyed by how noisy you are, disturbing her cultivation?”
The spiritual energy in the Third Classroom was incredibly abundant.
Even with all six of them absorbing at full capacity, it was more than enough.
Once Su Yunhu and the others entered their states, their cultivation efficiency rose sharply.
When they finished, they dismantled the array plates.
But they found the other three still immersed in cultivation—strange, since their meridian limits were nearly identical.
Yet these three had higher cultivation bases and absorbed spiritual energy faster—why did they cultivate longer than them?
Shouldn’t they have reached their meridian limits sooner and stopped earlier?
Su Yunhu and the other two sat quietly in a row, waiting for the three to finish.
First to finish was Su Cheng—after fifteen minutes, Su Wuji. Another thirty minutes passed before Su Jin finally ended her cultivation.
She opened her eyes.
Found everyone staring at her.
“What?”
“Can you tell us now?” Su Linyuan asked quickly.
“Tell you what?” Su Jin asked, puzzled.
Su Linyuan stared blankly at Su Wuji: “You. When are you going to tell us? Why, when our meridian limits are nearly the same, can you three cultivate so much longer than us?”
