Chapter 105: The AB Combo!
Konoha, Root Base.
Danzo listened to his subordinate’s report, his expression terrifyingly dark.
Hiruzen Sarutobi knew him well, so he made the best arrangement.
If it were only Minato Namikaze, he could have tried desperately.
But with Fujinaka Genma added.
Think of Fujinaka Genma’s record—even if Itachi threw all of Root at him, it still wouldn’t be enough to stop this master and disciple.
Though his heart burned with resentment, Danzo was now calm, and ordered in a low voice: “Cancel the plan!”
“Yes, Lord Danzo!”
The Root ninja departed on orders.
Danzo stood motionless for a long time, then left Konoha that night with a portion of his Root ninja, heading straight for the Land of Rain.
Hokage’s Office.
Hiruzen Sarutobi, who had not rested either, exhaled softly upon learning Danzo had gone to the Land of Rain; his tension eased, and fatigue immediately swept over him.
At this moment, internal conflict was the last thing he wanted, so he decisively moved Fujinaka Genma—originally part of the mobile force—to the Cloud Village front.
Minato alone was already enough; Fujinaka Genma was a deterrent.
A deterrent against the Mist Village. A deterrent against the Stone Village.
“I hope no accidents occur…”
Hiruzen Sarutobi gazed at the dark sky beyond the window and sighed inwardly.
Meanwhile, Fujinaka Genma spent an entire night in deep conversation with Minato.
That night of intense talk nearly settled Fujinaka Genma’s future path.
At dawn…
Fujinaka Genma traveled with Minato’s team.
In truth, Minato’s team was a fire brigade.
Konoha’s frontline with the Cloud Village was too long, forcing troop dispersion and placing them in absolute disadvantage—this was why Hiruzen Sarutobi insisted on ending the war with the Stone Village at any cost.
So far in the ninja world, Konoha had not lost a single major battle; even the Sand Village had been forced to negotiate.
But Konoha was facing too many enemies at once.
In one-on-one combat, any of the other four ninja villages would be no match for Konoha.
But under four-sided assault, Konoha had no choice but to squeeze its own potential.
This was mortgaging the future.
Hiruzen Sarutobi did not want to mortgage the future, so he used Fujinaka Genma and Minato as deterrents to swiftly end the war.
Now, Fujinaka Genma followed Minato’s team, rushing to wherever Konoha’s forces were struggling against Cloud Village attacks, relieving pressure on the defenders.
Minato alone was enough.
The moment the Yellow Flash appeared, unless the enemy massed in overwhelming numbers, they had no choice but to retreat.
Now, with Fujinaka Genma—the Death God of Konoha—added, the fear was even greater.
The Cloud ninja retreated instantly upon contact and rapidly spread the word.
Thus, Fujinaka Genma seemed like a tourist, inspecting his territory.
But…
This also caused both sides’ forces to converge.
The Cloud ninja dared not split up, because Fujinaka Genma’s record was too terrifying—more fearsome than Minato Namikaze. The title “Death God” was not earned lightly; it was built from mountains of corpses.
On the fourth day…
Finally, Fujinaka Genma’s group encountered the AB Combo.
Killer Bee!
Son of the Third Raikage, future Fourth Raikage, A!
Of course…
At this point, among Konoha’s side, only Fujinaka Genma knew that Killer Bee was the Eight-Tails’ jinchuriki.
“What a legendary scene!”
Fujinaka Genma gazed at the young Killer Bee and the Fourth Raikage, silently awed.
The Cloud ninja, however, stared at them—especially Minato Namikaze, who had used Body Flicker to rescue a Konoha ninja.
“That hair color, and that Body Flicker technique—there’s no doubt, he’s the Yellow Flash of Konoha.”
“Then he…”
Many Cloud ninja turned their eyes to Fujinaka Genma beside Minato.
“According to prior intelligence, wearing that Hokage robe and carrying that short blade—he must be the Death God of Konoha, Fujinaka Genma!”
One Cloud ninja said nervously: “In that case, we should retreat first!”
“We must concentrate our forces to deal with them!”
The Fourth Raikage stared at Fujinaka Genma and Minato, showing no sign of retreat; instead, his battle lust intensified.
“So this is the one who completed the Nine-Tails retrieval mission alone—the Yellow Flash, unmatched in Body Flicker.”
“And this one—the Death God of Konoha—who used the same Body Flicker to force the Sand Village to negotiate and wiped out three hundred elite Mist ninja.”
The Fourth Raikage fixed his gaze on Fujinaka Genma, blue lightning flickering across his body: “I hear Itachi also possess a Lightning Release similar to our village’s Lightning Release Chakra Mode.”
Fujinaka Genma gave no reply.
Minato spoke up: “Itachi must be A, son of the Third Raikage, known for your fierce competitiveness.”
“I’ve heard Itachi’re exceptionally skilled.”
“But today, the best outcome is for both sides to withdraw.”
Killer Bee, standing behind the Fourth Raikage, said: “As long as I’m here with my brother, we can handle Itachi.”
“Itachi idiot! Itachi fool!”
Minato’s eyes hardened: “Everyone, stay back—this is between me and Genma!”
Saying this, Minato pulled several Flying Thunder God kunai from his ninja tool pouch and flung them out.
Fujinaka Genma looked at Killer Bee and smiled: “Don’t boast too much.”
At that moment, the Fourth Raikage vanished instantly, charging straight at Minato Namikaze.
And at that same instant, Fujinaka Genma disappeared.
BOOM!
With a thunderous crash, Killer Bee was blasted backward, smashing through several large trees before stabilizing himself with the Eight-Tails’ tail, barely avoiding hitting the ground.
The other octopus-like tail that had blocked the blow at the last second now bore a charred, gaping hole punched clean through it by Fujinaka Genma’s fist.
“He’s the Eight-Tails’ jinchuriki!”
The Konoha ninja watching from behind—Akimichi Dōton and others—were stunned.
“He doesn’t need kunai with the technique’s formula as a medium to use Body Flicker?”
“And that power—it’s monstrous!”
“If Little Eight hadn’t blocked that just now…”
Killer Bee, regaining his stance, was shaken—had the Eight-Tails not reacted in time, that punch might have ended him.
The Eight-Tails inside him warned: “Bee, be careful—this man is no ordinary opponent.”
“His chakra is astonishing. That power is beyond what any normal human could possess.”
“And his speed—Bee, Itachi must be fully alert.”
Killer Bee nodded solemnly, then glanced at his brother—also barely dodging a strike.
Incredible speed. An incredible master and disciple pair!
“This battle will likely be the hardest we’ve ever faced.”
Killer Bee thought, then drew his swords one by one.
The Eight-Tails said: “If Itachi can’t hold out, use that state.”
“Understood.”
Killer Bee nodded.
On the other side, the Fourth Raikage’s expression grew grave as he studied the kunai: “With Bee and the Eight-Tails, they can hold for a while. As for this man, I just need to watch those kunai—when he appears, I’ll reach him at maximum speed…”
Thinking this, the lightning on his body intensified further, his hair standing on end.
SHU!
The Fourth Raikage vanished from his spot, like a bolt of lightning surging again toward Minato Namikaze.
Simultaneously, Killer Bee charged toward Fujinaka Genma.
But the next instant—
Fujinaka Genma and Minato swapped positions instantly; Fujinaka Genma entered Lei Shen Mode and collided with the Fourth Raikage.
The earth shattered.
Their hands clashed; the terrifying force sank the ground, then CRACKED into fragments.
“So strong—it rivals Lightning Release Chakra Mode!”
The Fourth Raikage was stunned.
Fujinaka Genma was equally amazed: “No wonder Itachi’re the future Fourth Raikage!”
The next moment, both figures vanished from their spots.
Then, Akimichi Dōtō and the Cloud ninjas saw two flashes of lightning constantly darting through the forest, accompanied by occasional thunderous booms.
Sometimes the earth was blasted into a charred crater; sometimes trees were shattered to splinters.
Watching this, both the Leaf ninjas and the Cloud ninjas couldn’t help but break out in cold sweat.
With this speed and power, if they were in that fight, they’d be killed instantly.
On the other side.
The battle between Minato Namikaze and Killer B was silent and still.
Minato kept appearing and disappearing, while Killer B relied on the Eight-Tails’ power to constantly defend himself.
Even so, he was struck twice by Minato.
The octopus tail was cut in half twice.
This showed that Minato wasn’t just astonishingly fast—he was equally deadly in attack.
His mastery of Wind Release chakra nature transformation gave his shuriken devastating power, capable of slicing through the Eight-Tails.
Suddenly, a whistle sounded from behind.
“Minato, Genma—it’s the retreat signal!”
“Fall back for now!”
Akimichi Dōtō called out.
Immediately, both Genma and Minato appeared together and retreated.
Across from them.
Killer B gasped for breath; the Fourth Raikage glanced at him out of the corner of his eye. “B, are Itachi alright?”
“Big brother, I’m fine. It’s just a minor wound.”
Killer B gritted his teeth and held on.
“Itachi’re brave.”
Minato looked at him and smiled faintly. “Regardless of the Eight-Tails, as a ninja, Itachi possess something remarkable.
Though we’re enemies, I admire Itachi.”
The Fourth Raikage snorted immediately, proudly declaring: “This guy’s talent surpasses mine!”
“No.”
Minato turned away, walking as he spoke. “I wasn’t talking about that.”
“Itachi already have something more precious than talent.”
The Fourth Raikage raised an eyebrow. “Hm?”
Minato stopped, slightly turning his head. “A, Itachi have a good brother.”
“So do I!”
Saying this, Minato looked at Genma, then continued: “Next time we meet, we’ll settle this as Kage against Kage!”
“Genma, let’s go!”
Genma nodded, glancing at the Raikage and his brother, and smiled. “I hope this war ends here.”
“To be honest, I don’t like killing.”
With that, Genma turned and walked away without looking back.
The Fourth Raikage watched the Leaf ninjas withdraw, slowly lowering his guard.
Killer B snorted. “That guy’s really arrogant!”
“But he’s got the power to back it up.”
The Eight-Tails grunted, then said seriously: “To be honest, in a life-or-death duel, unless we use that final technique, we have zero chance of winning.”
“And frankly, I sense a dangerous aura coming from him.”
