Chapter 32: Battle! Wind Release: Rasengan Shuriken!
Bird calls—that was the agreed signal.
It means the extraction team has arrived!
Fujinaka Genma and Ebisu stepped out of the cave and indeed saw a figure approaching through the rain, while Mura no Yajūn had already gone to meet him; Guy remained hidden.
Soon, another unique bird call echoed through the rain.
That confirmed it was the right person.
Guy emerged from concealment, exhaling slightly: “The mission’s finally ending!”
“Guy, the mission has only just begun—don’t let your guard down!”
Fujinaka Genma warned sternly: “The enemy will pursue—true danger is coming!”
Guy paused, then his expression turned serious as he nodded: “Understood. Don’t worry—I’ll give everything I’ve got to make these pursuers regret chasing us!”
Beside him, Ebisu adjusted his sunglasses and glanced at Guy silently: “This guy doesn’t get what Genma meant at all, does he?”
“So blunt.”
Fujinaka Genma said nothing more, watching as Mura no Yajūn and the extractee approached, his gaze subtly assessing.
Ordinary appearance, wearing a raincoat, dressed no differently from a commoner.
Yet Fujinaka Genma noticed something subtle.
This person was using Transformation Technique.
Certain details told him this wasn’t the real spy—but an ANBU ninja.
“The real spy’s already been extracted. This one’s a decoy.”
“That’s why we were needed—to make the act convincing, so the enemy wouldn’t suspect too soon.”
Fujinaka Genma analyzed silently, saying nothing.
The group returned to the campfire inside the cave, and Mura no Yajūn immediately gave orders: “Rest another half-hour, then move out toward Konoha.”
“Ebisu, Itachi take over as rear guard!”
Ebisu nodded and vanished with Body Flicker Technique.
Mura no Yajūn continued: “Genma, Itachi’ll cover our rear with me.”
“Understood!”
Fujinaka Genma nodded and drew his Lightning Fang chakra blade, wiping it clean.
Without doubt, a hard fight was coming.
Beside him, Guy hesitated, then spoke: “Sensei Yajūn, I can cover the rear with Genma!”
Mura no Yajūn blinked, then glanced at Fujinaka Genma.
Fujinaka Genma looked up, meeting his gaze with unmistakable exasperation.
He doesn’t know!
Mura no Yajūn thought: That’s just Might Guy—dense as a rock.
But not knowing is better.
So Mura no Yajūn said firmly: “Itachi and Ebisu have a more important task—protect our extractee!”
Guy’s battle spirit surged: “Sensei Yajūn, I’ll burn my life if I have to—I won’t let him be harmed!”
Hearing Guy’s passionate words, Fujinaka Genma felt both moved and exasperated.
This extractee’s strength probably could crush Guy effortlessly.
They said half an hour, but the enemy gave them no such luxury.
Just ten minutes later, Ebisu rushed back into the cave.
“They’re coming!”
“Three squads!”
Twelve men!
Fujinaka Genma now missed Hiyori Mio.
If Hiyori Mio were here, she’d have spotted the enemy long ago.
“Ebisu, Guy—Itachi go first!”
Mura no Yajūn gave the order without hesitation.
Ebisu and Guy immediately left through another exit of the cave, as prearranged.
Mura no Yajūn really knew how to dig.
After the three left, Fujinaka Genma extinguished the fire; darkness swallowed the cave instantly.
Then the two retreated deeper, into pitch-black silence, waiting.
Soon.
Two figures entered the cave, covering each other in alternating advances.
Zzzt!
Lightning flared, tearing through darkness in an instant.
The lightning branched outward like tree limbs, and Fujinaka Genma vanished from his spot.
Screams and the sound of spraying blood followed as two bodies collapsed one after another.
But immediately, sharp whistling sounds filled the air—shuriken and kunai, each tied with explosive tags, flew in.
Boom!
Fire lit the darkness; smoke rolled thick.
At the critical moment, a wall of earth erupted before Fujinaka Genma, blocking the explosion.
But then he heard faint whistling—four enemies had breached the cave directly.
Instantly, the shriek of Chidori echoed through the cave, lightning illuminating every corner.
White light flashed.
Fujinaka Genma’s body was wrapped in white lightning; his Lightning Fang chakra blade glowed with the same radiance, moving so fast that the two intruders never reacted before he slit their throats.
“The White Fang of Konoha!”
A cry of shock rang out.
Fujinaka Genma turned toward the voice—but instantly sensed grave danger, retreating without hesitation, only for a torrent of hidden weapons to whistle toward him.
“Sand ninja puppets!”
Fujinaka Genma reacted instantly, hooking a finger to snatch a kunai, then his hands moved in a blur, generating crackling lightning that formed a spinning web.
Ding! Ding! Ding! The weapons clattered to the ground or were deflected by the electric net.
Simultaneously, another figure appeared from the side, rapidly forming hand seals.
At that moment, Mura no Yajūn—who had been hiding and supporting—suddenly struck, kicking the sand puppet’s ninja into the cave wall.
“Fall back!”
Mura no Yajūn didn’t pursue; he retreated swiftly, grabbing Fujinaka Genma the instant the weapons ceased, and vanished around a bend.
Immediately after, a terrifying storm roared into the cave—wind blades like knives, sand and stones flying.
Feeling the gale behind him, Fujinaka Genma whistled in awe.
A cave was a terrible place to fight—and luckily, the enemy had wanted to take them alive.
Otherwise, a direct Wind Release assault would’ve crushed them.
Out of the cave.
Fujinaka Genma and Mura no Yajūn immediately increased speed.
But these pursuing Sand ninja weren’t fools—they’d guessed the cave had another exit. Finding nothing quickly, they now tracked them by footprints or chakra signatures.
During the chase, Fujinaka Genma glanced back.
Through the hazy rain, six figures advanced—four ahead, two behind—moving at high speed.
Less than a hundred meters behind.
“Finish them all at once!”
Fujinaka Genma narrowed his eyes, steeling himself.
He hated being hunted.
So—
On his right hand, chakra surged rapidly, forming a Rasengan, then a piercing hum rose as the Rasengan expanded violently into a giant spinning disk.
Mura no Yajūn watched, stunned: “Is that the technique?”
He knew Fujinaka Genma had developed a powerful Wind Release technique, but had never seen it before.
Now seeing it, even the chakra alone made his heart race.
Fujinaka Genma suddenly stopped, spun, and thrust his right arm—his Wind Release Rasengan Shuriken hummed and shot forward, spinning just above the ground.
Behind—
The pursuing Sand ninja, seeing the roaring spinning disk, instinctively sensed overwhelming danger.
“This Wind Release technique!”
“Fall back!”
The lead chunin’s face paled as he leapt backward into the air.
But at that moment, the Wind Release Rasengan Shuriken exploded outward, forming a massive glowing sphere that rapidly engulfed all directions.
“Sensei Yajūn, watch out for the storm!”
Fujinaka Genma warned.
Watching the expanding sphere of light, Minamura Yajuan snapped back to attention and quickly formed hand seals.
A wall of earth surged upward, and moments later, a deafening roar brought the storm crashing down.
The earth wall shattered rapidly, and Minamura Yajuan immediately raised another one.
But on either side of the wall, the ground itself was being ripped away by the storm, blotting out the sky.
