Chapter 15: Have You Become Skilled?
Oh, you want to freeload.
Cheng Shuili gave a cold snort; frankly, others' business is none of hers, and she doesn't want to be a selfless saint in the apocalypse.
But she isn't cold-hearted; if the shining side shows some sincerity, Cheng Shuili would be happy to contribute.
But if you want to freeload, then sorry.
Cheng Shuili didn't reply again,
She twisted the handlebars, humming a little tune, walking leisurely forward. Today really was a huge haul—after having the radio in her hands for so many days, it finally proved useful!
Cheng Shuili's Bug Physique didn't hold her back either—it was practically a case of 'no coincidence, no story'!
With a good talent draw at the start, life is happy and worry-free.
Cheng Shuili suddenly felt doubtful; she had never seen anyone mention 'talent' in the regional channel, nor had she ever seen a player with elemental talent.
Even if everyone hides their talent, those players who can directly generate water should at least sell some water, right?
Cheng Shuili suddenly felt doubtful, yet a guess rose in her heart……
Surely, this Bug Physique itself isn't just a bug, right?
Cheng Shuili shook her head, tossing those thoughts aside; thinking about them was useless, and she would never mention her talent to anyone in her lifetime.
Just live well.
Cheng Shuili revealed a faint smile, her eyes curving, making her whole person look warm and peaceful.
Too bad one always runs into spoilsports.
She hadn't gone far when Cheng Shuili saw an electric tricycle stopped ahead, not at the roadside but sideways right in the middle of the road.
Beside it, a woman was squatting, fiddling with the tire.
Hearing the sound, she grabbed the electric tricycle and poked her head out, eyes eager as she looked at Cheng Shuili: 'You came at just the right time! Hello! Can you fix vehicles? My car suddenly won't move—could you take a look?'
Cheng Shuili had originally wanted to just drive off, but the woman quickly stepped a few paces and stood on her side, clearly not wanting Cheng Shuili to leave directly.
'Um, I'm Lin Mo. Could you check it out? Please? I haven't finished my mileage today, and if I don't complete it I don't know what penalty the system might impose. Please help me!'
Cheng Shuili narrowed her eyes, sizing up Lin Mo blocking the road. The woman wore a pleading smile, truly seeming to need her help.
'I can't fix vehicles.'
Cheng Shuili said lightly, her hand quietly reaching for the dagger at her waist.
Lin Mo seemed not to notice her small move, taking two more steps forward, her tone more urgent: 'Please, just take a look! I really have no choice—this damned place has no one around, and I finally ran into you……'
Cheng Shuili's shopping cart slowly came to a stop, but she didn't get off directly, instead staying ready to accelerate at any moment.
She stared at Lin Mo, then suddenly laughed.
Someone's asking for death—shouldn't she oblige?
'What's wrong with your vehicle?'
Lin Mo saw her stop, a flicker of joy in her eyes, and quickly pointed at her electric tricycle: 'I don't know if it's the battery—it just stopped responding. Could you check the wiring?'
Checking the wiring while tinkering with the tire, huh?
Do these people not even draft a script before coming out to scam?
Cheng Shuili nodded, yet remained seated on the shopping cart: 'Step back two steps, I'll get off to take a look.'
Lin Mo hesitated a moment, but still stepped back as told.
Only then did Cheng Shuili slowly hop off, left hand lightly pressing on the dagger at her waist. She walked to the electric tricycle, pretending to inspect it while actually watching Lin Mo's every move with her peripheral vision.
Lin Mo's gaze turned sharp, her hand quietly reaching behind her.
'Your vehicle…' Cheng Shuili spoke at the right moment, deliberately drawing out her words, then suddenly lifted her head: 'You stopped here on purpose, didn't you?'
Lin Mo's face changed; she suddenly drew a machete from behind her, grinning ferally: 'Smart, but too late!'
She swung the machete at Cheng Shuili, but Cheng Shuili was prepared, sidestepping easily while drawing her dagger and stabbing backhanded at Lin Mo's abdomen.
Lin Mo obviously hadn't expected such a quick reaction; in the flurry she could barely dodge, but her clothes were still slit.
'You!'
Lin Mo was both shocked and angry, disbelievingly raising the machete to chop down again.
Cheng Shuili snorted coldly, no longer holding back.
Her agility attribute far surpassed ordinary people—one could even say she was ahead of the curve! In her eyes, Lin Mo's attacks looked like slow motion!
After easily dodging the attack, Cheng Shuili kicked Lin Mo's knee.
Lin Mo winced in pain and knelt, the machete flying from her hand.
'With just this ability, you dare to learn to rob people?' Cheng Shuili stepped on the machete, pressing her dagger to Lin Mo's throat: 'Tell me, how many am I up against?'
Lin Mo's face turned pale as she gritted her teeth: 'If you kill me, the system won't give you much loot either!'
Cheng Shuili raised an eyebrow: 'Oh? Looks like you're quite experienced.'
Lin Mo, full of false confidence, said: 'I still know a lot of information; killing me like this would definitely be your loss!'
'There's still loot! If you kill me outright, you'll only get a portion—maybe even a small part—but if you spare my life, I'm willing to hand over all my supplies! Just leave the vehicle for me and let me go.'
Lin Mo was full of confidence; she had used this line to con many people—if she won, she killed them outright; if she lost, she immediately surrendered, giving the opponent the illusion of having victory in hand.
Here, supplies mean better conditions, a better life; under the temptation of more supplies, everyone is greedy, and hardly anyone would disagree!
Lin Mo snorted inwardly: the more pleased one is, the more complacent, the more careless!
What Lin Mo was waiting for was negligence! She lay like a dormant monster, waiting for the enemy to let their guard down before delivering a fatal blow!
But Lin Mo forgot—she herself is also human.
Her continuous success likewise made her proud; her overconfident tone let Cheng Shuili sense the problem.
Who, with a knife at their throat, feels no fear, doesn't beg for mercy, and still dares to negotiate terms with the knife-wielder?
Either they have a hidden move—such people must not be spared!
Or they have an iron will, destined to become great—such people likewise must not be spared!
Cheng Shuili had already made her decision.
She shook her head, a cruel smile playing on her lips: "You're trying to kill me, how could I possibly let you go?"
"If I can subdue you, then I kill you. If you can subdue me, I'll gladly admit defeat. Right and wrong don't matter to me; if you have something to say, take it up with King Yama."
Lin Mo's eyes widened suddenly, realizing after the mishap she opened her mouth to say something, but Cheng Shuili gave her no chance.
Her eyes remained slightly widened, but could no longer constrict.
【Slain player Lin Mo, gained 25% of Lin Mo's supplies.】
【Today's player kill count: 2.】
【Breaking the historical limit, achieving the achievement "Skilled?": Without the first time's clumsiness, where would the second time's skill come from! Having survived two battles, still alive, fortunate survivor!】
