Chapter 260: Qi Wan Yi Doesn't Respond

~7 min read 1,230 words

Egg Chief was still a bit dissatisfied, flapping his wings and clucking in protest, and was glared at by Cheng Shuili until he shrank into a ball of fluff.

Cheng Shuili swung the knotted rope and said bluntly, "If you call again, it'll be three a day."

The little chick instantly wilted, and his black‑bean eyes were filled with the bitter anger of "capitalist exploitation."

The whole territory echoed with Egg Chief's pitiful cluck and the crowd's relieved uproar of laughter.

Cheng Shuili exhaled, then ordered a few people to build a chicken coop for Egg Chief, pinched his nape as a warning, and after confirming the little fellow was truly obedient, she left, content, carrying the egg.

She opened Wan Yi's private chat, sent her the golden‑glowing egg, and ordered, "Add an egg for me tonight!"

Strangely, Qi Wan Yi did not reply.

It was already nearing dinner time, and Cheng Shuili guessed she was cooking and hadn't seen the message, so she didn't think further.

Cheng Shuili relaxed, opened the regional channel to see if there were any new updates.

But after reading just one message, her brows knit together.

【Wan Yue】: @Wan Yi, what are you pretending for? Weren't you the one who anonymously took processing orders in the trade channel before? You want to earn Game Coin, I'll help you— I said you're a food‑truck, what of it? Has your business finally taken off? You're secretly pleased, aren't you? I haven't even asked you to thank me, yet you blame me?? Everyone, judge this!

"Oh dear, why is there a fight again this late evening? @Wan Yue miss, your tone could plow three acres; the person who anonymously took orders must have a reason, and you expose them while acting all righteous?"

"Let me speak fairly: the anonymous feature is meant for people to use, what's the difference between that and stripping someone's mask? @Wan Yi's skill is indeed good, and the processed goods are tasty."

"Hey—someone got exposed and is now playing dead? @Wan Yi isn't secretly counting money, right?"

"If I may say, Wan Yue really had good intentions, so you don't need to blame her, right? Your business must have finally improved, huh? I didn't know you were a food‑truck before, now I know."

"This game is so unfair—how can someone entering the game just be a food‑truck? Naturally able to cook? That's too much! @Wan Yi, come out and apologize!"

Cheng Shuili stared at the rapidly scrolling messages in the regional channel, her knuckles turning white.

The screen's cold light fell on her suddenly grim face, giving her a somewhat terrifying look.

"Fine then." she sneered, and tapped the private chat list with her fingertip.

Qi Wan Yi still hadn't replied—this isn't about being busy; she's been trouble‑made and has no time to answer her boss Lao Da.

A message suddenly popped up in the small group: Xinxue @‑ed Qi Wan Yi in the group asking who Wan Yue was.

Cheng Shuili wondered who she was. In the morning, Qi Wan Yi had been hit by wave after wave of people using duel cards; if Qi Wan Yi didn't have strength, she'd be dead by now!

Cheng Shuili had previously wondered who the mastermind was; now that she's figured it out, she won't hold back revenge.

Anyone who dares to provoke her, Wan Yue had better be mentally prepared.

Su Rui's vision flashed again; she frowned, habitually hugging her arms against the back of the seat. She was no longer as panicked as the first time, nor as speechless as the second.

Now she even had the leisure to turn and see what Cheng Shuili was up to this time.

She saw her own boss stride through the carriage, black hair cutting a sharp arc in the dusk, still clutching a rifle—clearly heading to kill someone!

Su Rui instantly perked up, jogged a few steps to catch up with Cheng Shuili, and asked, "Who are we killing this time?"

Cheng Shuili sneered, "We won't kill this time; first we'll pin them down and beat them up."

Su Rui instantly became excited!

"Fine!"

The two got off the vehicle; in front was Wan Yue's transport, a somewhat dilapidated ride, and through a broken pane of glass one could see the silhouettes of two people inside, backs turned to Cheng Shuili.

Cheng Shuili and the other exchanged a glance, then silently stepped one after another onto the rickety steps of Wan Yue's transport; the metal floor creaked faintly, but the occupants inside remained oblivious.

Wan Yue was standing with her back to the door, furiously typing on a virtual screen, muttering curses: "If you don't give it to me, forget it! Go die, you! Die!"

Su Rui lunged forward in a single stride, right hand locking the throat, left hand grabbing the wrist, her knee smashing into the opponent's waist. With a muffled "Bang!" the whole of Wan Yue's face slammed onto the floor, a spray of nosebleed instantly staining the pristine tiles red.

Cheng Shuili leisurely pulled a decorative rope nearby and, in a few swift motions, bound her wrist to the steering wheel.

"What are you doing?!" Wan Yue struggled, twisting her head, then suddenly widened her eyes, "Who are you?? Don't… don't kill me! I can give you all my stuff! Please don't kill me! I beg you, I beg you…"

Cheng Shuili half‑crouched, gently lifted Wan Yue's chin with the barrel, forcing her to raise that blood‑stained face.

"Begging so quickly, huh?" Cheng Shuili's voice was coldly mocking, "Unfortunately, we're not here to rob you."

Wan Yue's pupils narrowed, as if finally realizing something; her lips trembled as she asked hoarsely, "You… you're here to stand up for Qi Wan Yi?"

Cheng Shuili's gaze darkened further; this person even knew Wan Yi's real name, so the connection with her was certainly complicated.

It now seemed clear—it must be some betrayal plot.

"Smart."

Cheng Shuili sneered, the barrel slowly lowered to rest on her collarbone, and leisurely continued, "Unfortunately, you're using your cleverness in the wrong place."

Wan Yue trembled all over, her voice almost breaking into a sob, yet she still tried to argue, "I—I was just telling the truth! She's a food‑truck, why was she taking orders anonymously? I didn't hurt her!"

Cheng Shuili's eyes hardened, her finger lightly caressed the trigger, "Didn't hurt her? Then who's been inciting others all day to use duel cards to trouble her? And who's steering the regional channel to force her to apologize?"

Wan Yue's complexion turned deathly pale: "I… I don't know what you're talking about!"

Cheng Shuili snorted, turned to Su Rui, "She seems to have a poor memory."

Su Rui grinned, drew a dagger from her waist, and leisurely waved it before Wan Yue, "Lao Da, shall I help her recall?"

The dagger's cold gleam reflected on Wan Yue's face; she finally broke down, shouting, "I'm wrong! I'm wrong! I said it! But I really never intended to kill her! I was just… just jealous that she could earn money by cooking; I just wanted her to suffer a bit…"

Cheng Shuili's gaze turned utterly cold.

"Jealous?"

She rose slowly, looking down from above at Wan Yue, her voice light to the point of danger, "Just because of that little unsavory thought of yours, you almost killed my person?"
