Chapter 293: Have a Drink

~7 min read 1,201 words

Cheng Shuili lifted the tea cup, blew on the cold liquid, and took a sip.

"Faster than expected," she said evenly, as if the arrival were not a rival for resources but an old friend invited for tea.

Moyu Miji swallowed nervously, instinctively trying to shrink behind the crate.

Cheng Shuili's peripheral glance caught him, and she smiled lightly: "Bie Pa, friend. You are now our invited guest, perfectly safe."

The words sounded comforting, yet Moyu Miji felt a chill at the back of the neck, stood upright instantly, and dared not move further.

"That squad stopped behind the broken wall two hundred meters away, seemingly observing." Ailin continued the report, her voice as calm as reading data, both professional and composed.

Inside the warehouse, Qi Wan Yi's long sword had already been drawn a few inches, its cold glint faintly visible. Jiang Tang and Xinxue also gripped their weapons tightly, breathing slightly rapid, but their gazes were steadfast.

Cheng Shuili set the tea cup down, and her fingertips tapped lightly on the wooden crate.

"Any movement over at Fengyun Tianxia?"

She asked as if offhand.

Moyu Miji flinched, quickly shaking his head: "No, none! There's been no new news in the group; they might… might still be hiding from the rain or…"

"…or maybe only those three remain, too scared to stir this mess."

He didn't dare say the rest.

Cheng Shuili nodded, seemingly unsurprised.

"Then let's first entertain the guests before us."

She stood up, walked to the main gate, and peered outside through the crack.

Through the rain curtain, vague silhouettes could be seen weaving among the ruins.

From the southwest, a figure burst out from behind cover, moving at astonishing speed, charging straight at the warehouse door! The figure left a lingering afterimage in the rain, clearly boosted by attribute points.

"Bang!" Ailin's rifle fired first, the bullet whistling through the rain curtain, landing precisely in front of the person and forcibly stopping him.

The figure was forced to roll, taking cover behind half a concrete pillar, effectively driven back by the fire.

Cheng Shuili rose, flung open the massive iron door, and stood in front of it.

Watching this, Moyu Miji was terrified; this guy truly wasn't afraid of death!

Even in the rain, visibility is somewhat impaired, but that doesn't affect the bullet; this guy is standing unguarded right at the muzzle like that?

The one who understood his thinking best among those present was, of course, Ailin.

It wasn't until Ailin saw the bullet curve the instant it touched Cheng Shuili that she realized why Number One held that rank.

Cheng Shuili stood at the doorway, one hand on her hip, the other gripping her Night Hunt, cleared her throat, and shouted loudly: "If you come, you're friends; if you want materials we can negotiate. If you're friendly, you may come in and sit; I'll treat you to tea. If you insist on fighting, then I can only offer you a taste of gunfire."

Cheng Shuili's clear voice pierced the rain curtain with an odd penetrating force, carrying clearly outward.

The silhouettes darting among the ruins seemed to pause for a moment.

The person behind the concrete pillar did not respond immediately; the rain became the only background sound.

Inside the warehouse, Qi Wan Yi's long sword was fully drawn, its icy blade angled toward the ground, reflecting the dim light. Behind the high window, Ailin and Xinxue's muzzles were steadily locked onto several possible external breach points, unmoving.

After a brief silence, a slightly hoarse male voice came from behind the concrete pillar, cautious and probing: "Tea? Interesting. Which team are you? How did you get so many layers?"

Cheng Shuili smiled, her voice still relaxed: "Friend, before asking others, first give your own name—that's polite. What do you call yourself? Planning to stay hidden and just speak?"

Four or five seconds of silence, the other side seemed to be weighing.

But soon, the person suddenly raised both hands and stepped out from behind the concrete pillar.

"We're definitely from the same area, friend; let's speak properly. I'm Number Two on the leaderboard, Qianxun, and those behind me are my teammates; shall we have a good talk?"

He was some distance away, his expression unclear. Yet daring to step forward, he must have confidence.

Cheng Shuili was, of course, welcoming; a proper negotiation to hand over supplies was far better than fighting.

Cheng Shuili was indeed a lover of peace.

"Qianxun? I've heard of your great reputation."

Cheng Shuili's smile became genuinely sincere, and she turned sideways to make a "please" gesture.

"The rain's heavy; come inside to talk? I've brewed tea—though the water temperature is a bit off, the leaves are good."

The player named Qianxun was a tall man, dressed in a sleek black combat suit, rain dripping from his slightly disheveled hair.

Cheng Shuili thought untimely, "He won't be bald, will he?"

Qianxun's sharp gaze swept over Cheng Shuili and the troops behind her, lingering a moment on the faintly visible muzzles at the high window, then settling on Cheng Shuili's overly relaxed tea set, his mouth corner twitching slightly.

He gestured, and five more people rose from the ruins, following him slowly toward the warehouse.

Their movements were cautious and professional, clearly experienced players.

"Who are you?" Qianxun asked as he entered the warehouse, his inquisitive gaze landing on Cheng Shuili; though he guessed, many capable people remain unknown, not necessarily Wu Ya Zuo Fei Ji.

Cheng Shuili was very direct, flashing a wide grin with big white teeth, appearing harmless: "If you don't know my name, I'll give my ID. Wu Ya Zuo Fei Ji, pleased to meet you."

Indeed...

Qianxun and Moyu Miji inhaled deeply at the same time.

Qianxun's expression grew even more solemn; he had no inclination for tea now.

"This spectacle truly lives up to its name. Let's get straight to it—how are the layers divided?"

His teammates guarded near the doorway, not fully entering, maintaining a stance ready to advance or retreat.

Both sides kept basic vigilance.

Cheng Shuili didn't answer directly; instead, she leisurely poured him a cup of cold brew tea: "Don't rush, have a sip first? In this dreadful weather, finding a place to shelter from the rain isn't easy."

Qianxun: "..."

He looked at the tea cup placed before him, speechless, but still took it, lightly sipping at the rim.

"Tea's been drunk; can we get down to business?"

"Of course." Cheng Shuili also lifted her cup, smiling, "The layers are all here, a total of 300 units. My team only needs 50..."

Cheng Shuili glanced at Moyu Miji, then suddenly changed: "60 units. The remainder, theoretically enough for the other two teams."

Moyu Miji's eyes lit up instantly, and she almost welled up with hot tears from being moved.

Cheng Shuili caught his foolish look out of the corner of her eye—this guy... wouldn't he think she'd give it to him for free?

On what basis?

Leaving him ten spots is purely because he's sixth on the leaderboard—he surely has something good. Instead of giving it to others, it's better to make a deal with this sixth-place contender.
