Chapter 33: Ambush on the Road

"So they're just two yellow-haired girls!"

As the two walked toward the Market, they encountered three bandits; judging by their clothes and appearance, they were neither disciples of the Xuanyuan Sect nor the Ziguang Sect.

"This is Xuanyuan Sect's territory; do you not fear Xuanyuan Sect's retaliation?"

Luo Yao said this with her mouth, but in her heart she transmitted a sound to Xiao Kui, "You attack the one on the left, I will attack the one on the right."

Of the three blocking the road, the person in the middle had the highest strength, Qi Refining Stage 8, while the other two were both Qi Refining Stage 6.

The situation was unfavorable for Luo Yao and the other, so Luo Yao chose to strike first to seize the initiative.

"Flowing Water Silent!"

That Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator continued to control the massive spiked club, smashing it toward Luo Yao; Luo Yao condensed an Ice Blade and smashed it at the club, but the man easily shattered it and continued smashing at Luo Yao with a force that destroyed withered grass.

Luo Yao and Xiao Kui quickly retreated, gathering together, and took out Pills and Spirit Stones to restore their consumed Spirit Power.

Xiao Kui quickly came to Luo Yao's side, protecting her.

"Xiao Yao, are you alright!"

As the words fell, Luo Yao and the other felt the earth shake and the mountains tremble, and then saw the soil on the ground gather into a five-meter-long Earth Dragon.

Facing an opponent three layers higher than herself, Luo Yao's pressure increased drastically.

Xiao Kui gave a reminder, then stopped dodging, turned around, condensed two huge hand seals, and caught the falling spiked club.

Luo Yao intended to freeze the man and then attack while he was distracted, but ice just appearing on the man's body was instantly destroyed by him; let alone freezing him, it didn't even affect him.

But in an instant, that Earth Dragon re-condensed, its huge dragon head rushing toward Xiao Kui with a force of a thousand pounds; Xiao Kui did not dodge or avoid, still charging toward that Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator.

The Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator heard the cry for help, turned his head, saw this scene, his eyes instantly bursting with rage, and roared, but it was already too late.

The two were knocked flying backward, smashing into the forest.

The Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator spoke coldly, and then the spiked club in his hand instantly became one meter thick and five meters long, smashing down heavily at the two.

The Earth Dragon rushed toward Xiao Kui to kill her, but Xiao Kui did not dodge or avoid, punching the Earth Dragon's head, shattering it, but the next second, the Earth Dragon returned to its original form.

Luo Yao had to condense the Mystic Ice Ring again for defense.

"Die, all of you die!"

The Earth Dragon knocked Xiao Kui flying; Xiao Kui used this momentum to instantly arrive before the Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator, and her Long Sword slashed at the man.

"Die!"

The man roared, controlling the spiked club to sweep horizontally and smash at Luo Yao and the other.

Just this hesitation delayed things for a while, and Luo Yao and the other's attacks had already appeared on his companion.

On the other side, that Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator, although heavily injured, was still interfering with Xiao Kui nearby, assisting the Earth Dragon in the siege.

"Bastard, I will kill you all!"

"Bang!"

The two had nowhere to dodge, so they could only summon their Weapons, attacking to defend.

The cultivator on the right was fine; his cultivation was originally one layer higher than Luo Yao's, so although caught off guard, he still blocked Luo Yao's assault, only suffering injuries.

That Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator, although injuring Luo Yao, was also heavily injured by Xiao Kui.

Seeing his companion dead, the leader's eyes instantly burst with rage.

"Want to run? Did I say you could leave?"

"Go!"

"Liu Kun!"

"You have angered me!"

The man was furious, but because Luo Yao and the other struck first, they had already lost the initiative; moreover, as Luo Yao and the other attacked the people beside him from left and right, the man did not know whom to support for a moment.

"Whoosh!"

"No!"

"Die!"

However, before the man finished speaking, he saw Luo Yao actually attack without hesitation to ambush him, instantly making him furious.

Luo Yao took out a Defense Magical Treasure without hesitation and blocked it in front of her.

"Don't think I am easy to bully!"

Facing the enraged Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator and the Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator who had only suffered minor injuries, the two were simply no match.

"Pfft!"

The Mystic Ice Ring only blocked for a few seconds before collapsing.

Seeing this, Xiao Kui turned around and cooperated with Xiao Yao to charge toward that Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator.

Not only that, Luo Yao also took out a stack of Talisman Paper and threw it at that Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator.

"Ice Seal!"

"Pfft!"

"Ding ding ding!"

"Madman." That Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator cursed silently, instantly terrified, and cried out for help to the Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator, "Big brother, save me."

As for the other person, facing Xiao Kui who was stronger than himself, and moreover Xiao Kui attacking with full force, even after making a defense, he was still pierced through his dantian by Sword Qi and died instantly.

That man took out a spiked club, his face filled with killing intent, and the aura of Qi Refining Stage 8 radiated out.

Luo Yao's Spells were actually ineffective against the man; obviously, although these Spells came from the Nine Nether Departing Water Art, they were merely introductory Spells, only slightly stronger than other Spells.

After all, anyone who wasn't a fool could see that Xuanyuan Sect was solely focused on the Spirit Stone Mine.

Luo Yao wiped the fresh blood from the corner of her mouth; she had clearly blocked the flying needles, but her Divine Sense transmitted a sharp pain; could those flying needles injure the Divine Sense?

Luo Yao naturally could not sit idly by; she controlled her Flying Sword to shatter the man's attack, and then charged toward the man.

Xiao Kui nearby saw this, her face changed, and she charged from the side toward that Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator.

If that were the case, such a Dharma Treasure would be far more precious than a Dharma Artifact; how could it possibly be in the hands of a Loose Cultivator at Qi Refining Stage 6?

However, if they found it in an Ancient Cultivator Cave Abode, then there would be no problem.

"Xiao Qi."

"I am fine; those flying needles are somewhat strange."

Seeing this, the Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator cursed loudly, raised his hand, and threw several blackish beads at Luo Yao and the other.

Boom, boom, boom!

Those beads exploded instantly, not only blocking Luo Yao's attack, but the smoke from the explosion also blocked Luo Yao's vision.

"Xiao Yao!"

The man, terrified, tried to dodge, but having already suffered severe injuries earlier, he simply could not.

The Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator nearby took the opportunity to attack Xiao Kui.

Boom, boom, boom!

Countless Fireballs, like a meteor shower, crashed down upon the Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator; the man's eyelid twitched, and he could only abandon his attack on Xiao Kui and switch to defense.

"Be careful!"

The Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator did not expect that in the blink of an eye, his other companion would suffer severe injuries; his expression turned extremely ugly.

The moment the two made their move, they unleashed their trump cards.

Crack!

The man sneered, his face twisted, looking at the forest, "Rest assured, I will torture you thoroughly."

The flying needles were blocked, but Luo Yao's face suddenly turned pale, and she even spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

However, there was not the slightest movement in the forest.

"I underestimated you, but your underhanded tricks are not enough against absolute strength."

The massive recoil still made Luo Yao vomit blood; Qi Refining Stage 8 was indeed too strong; just this single strike made Luo Yao feel the gap.

"Pfft!"

The man's face twisted; they had robbed so many cultivators, yet today they fell to two little girls; these two little girls were clearly weaker than them, yet the result was...

"Stop!"

Meanwhile, the Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator, taking advantage of the moment Xiao Kui was entangled by the Earth Dragon, attacked Luo Yao.

Xiao Kui completely ignored him, took the man's Storage Bag, and then attacked the Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator.

"You are asking for death!"

The man's expression instantly changed; he rushed over quickly, but saw no sign of Luo Yao and the other; he released his Divine Sense and discovered the two were fleeing rapidly toward the distance.

The spiked mace easily shattered their attacks, after all, the difference in strength was too great.

Pfft!

Suddenly, several flying needles shot out from the smoke, attacking Luo Yao.

"Xuanyuan Sect?" The man in the middle sneered, "They have no time to deal with such trivial matters."

"Pfft!"

Xiao Kui also noticed the situation on Luo Yao's side; immediately after smashing the Earth Dragon with a punch, she attacked the Qi Refining Stage 6 cultivator.

That terrifying spiked mace had already crashed onto Luo Yao, but fortunately, she had already summoned her Defense Magical Treasure.

It turned out that while being knocked back, they used the momentum to escape.

A mad Qi Refining Stage 8 cultivator was simply not something they could deal with.
