Chapter 712: with translation of chapter title

712. Chapter 710: Tranquil Heart Fruit and Heart-Stabilizing Pill

Just then, Lu Yuan received a message talisman sent by Su Liyan.

The talisman read: "Find the Tranquil Heart Fruit; I need your help."

Lu Yuan hurried to the appointed spot while pondering in his heart what exactly the "Tranquil Heart Fruit" Su Liyan spoke of was.

When Lu Yuan arrived at the appointed spot, he saw Su Liyan waiting there.

She held a jade box in her hand, from which a faint, fresh fragrance emanated.

"This is the Tranquil Heart Fruit."

Su Liyan smiled and said, "It is said that this fruit can help people calm their minds and enhance cultivation efficacy."

Lu Yuan took the jade box and lightly touched the patterns on it with his hand.

He could feel the rich spiritual energy contained within the Tranquil Heart Fruit.

This rare material can provide tremendous aid to the pill-refining process.

"I wish to refine a pill called the Heart-Stabilizing Pill to counteract the erosion of the Spirit Treasure Pill on people's minds and spirits."

Su Liyan said firmly, "I know this is a tremendous challenge, but I believe you have the ability to accomplish it."

Lu Yuan gazed at Su Liyan in silent contemplation, knowing that what he faced was not merely a pill-refining challenge but also the unraveling of the truth behind the Spirit Treasure Pill.

"I will do my utmost."

Lu Yuan finally nodded in agreement, understanding that he could not let down Su Liyan and everyone's expectations of him.

In Heavenly Wind City's botanical garden, the warm, gentle morning sunlight fell upon Lu Yuan and Su Liyan.

The two strolled together through the garden, admiring the colorful flowers and the lush, verdant trees.

"Lu Yuan, do you know?"

"I found a Tranquil Heart Tree in the botanical garden yesterday," Su Liyan said with a smile.

The Tranquil Heart Tree is one of the exceedingly rare spiritual plants, possessing the effect of soothing the mind.

Lu Yuan's face lit up with surprise and delight, "Really? Then let's hurry and find it."

Following the directions, the two soon arrived at a small hill.

Upon the hill stood a Tranquil Heart Tree towering several zhang high.

Lu Yuan gently touched the tree's bark and immediately felt a sense of tranquility and peace emanating from his fingertips.

"What a miraculous spiritual plant!"

Lu Yuan sighed, "We must make good use of it."

Su Liyan's eyes brimmed with anticipation: "Lu Yuan, I recall you possess a magical artifact, right?"

"There should be a Xuanlu grass seed inside your artifact; it is a necessary item for planting the Tranquil Heart Tree."

Lu Yuan suddenly recalled this, and hastily took out his artifact and began to tend to it.

He carefully planted the Xuanlu grass seed and, using his immortal arts, watered it with a drop of Xuanlu dew from his own artifact.

As Lu Yuan exercised his immortal arts, the Xuanlu grass seed quickly took root and sprouted, growing into a seedling in the blink of an eye.

Lu Yuan was overjoyed: "Excellent!"

"The Tranquil Heart Tree has finally taken root and sprouted in my artifact."

Su Liyan laughed, "You are truly a genius."

"Next, we can also use spiritual plant techniques to cultivate some sixth-grade spiritual grain, Xuanlu grass."

"Exactly!" Lu Yuan immediately expressed his agreement.

"I indeed need more cultivator physique-enhancing elixirs."

However, learning spiritual plant techniques is no easy task.

Lu Yuan had once tried to purchase the relevant skill books on the market, but unfortunately discovered that no beginner-level spiritual plant technique books were being sold.

Faced with this predicament, Lu Yuan could only choose to forcibly exchange for it.

He concentrated all his energy and resources and exchanged for the beginner-level spiritual plant technique.

However, Lu Yuan felt a bit regretful.

Although this exchange succeeded, it also consumed a considerable amount of his precious materials.

"Next time I will think carefully before exchanging for a skill," Lu Yuan sighed lightly, "This consumes too much."

Su Liyan softly consoled, "Don't be too upset; at least you now have the basics of spiritual plant technique and can continue cultivating Xuanlu grass."

"As long as you become sufficiently proficient in this technique, you will reap greater rewards in the future."

Lu Yuan sat in the pill-refining chamber of Lei Huo Dan Ge, his face full of anxiety as he gazed at the materials in his hands.

He had tried many times, yet could not successfully refine the Heart-Stabilizing Pill.

This is an extremely rare pill, possessing the effect of calming the mind and spirit, and is of great importance to cultivators.

Suddenly, he thought of Su Liyan.

She possessed ice-type immortal arts, which could provide auxiliary help. Lu Yuan's heart stirred, and he immediately summoned Su Liyan over.

Su Liyan entered the pill-refining chamber, saw Lu Yuan's anxious expression, and smiled faintly.

"What's wrong, Lu Yuan? Do you need my help?"

Lu Yuan nodded, "Yes, Miss Su."

"I've run into some trouble; I've hit a snag while refining the Heart-Stabilizing Pill."

Su Liyan walked up beside Lu Yuan, pondered briefly, and said, "I think I can try to help you with my ice-type immortal arts."

The two began to cooperate.

Su Liyan wielded the Ice Crystal Long Whip, and under Lu Yuan's guidance she infused the medicinal ingredients with her ice-type immortal arts.

However, their first attempt did not yield the desired effect.

After pondering for a moment, Lu Yuan decided to adjust his strategy.

They restarted refining the Heart-Calming Pill, trying again and again.

Lu Yuan constantly adjusted the steps, and Su Liyan wholeheartedly devoted herself to the refining process.

After several days of tense effort, they finally saw hope.

That Heart-Calming Pill gradually formed in the firelight.

Lu Yuan and Su Liyan both felt immense excitement and joy.

Success!

Lu Yuan shouted excitedly, "We have successfully refined a low-grade Heart-Calming Pill!"

Su Liyan also beamed: "Yes! We finally succeeded!"

Lu Yuan gazed deeply at Su Liyan, his gratitude overflowing: "Thank you, Miss Su."

"Without your help, I probably couldn't complete this task."

Su Liyan shook her head with a smile: "No need for formalities, Mr. Lu Yuan."

"Mutual help is the norm in the Xiuzhen Jie."

After pondering for a moment, Lu Yuan suddenly said, "Miss Su, I think we should keep this news secret."

"The refinement of the Heart-Calming Pill is a highly sensitive task; if this news leaks, it could attract the attention of the Xiuzhen Jie, and possibly someone might obstruct us."

Su Liyan nodded: "You're right."

"The situation in the Xiuzhen Jie is currently unstable; we had better keep a low profile."

Lu Yuan furrowed his brow slightly: "I still plan to hand this Heart-Calming Pill over to the Supreme Dao Ancestor to fulfill our agreement."

"But before that, I need more time to improve myself."

After pondering for a moment, Su Liyan half-jokingly said: "If this news gets out, other cultivators will surely envy us."

"Successfully refining a low-grade pill under extreme conditions is quite a remarkable achievement."

Lu Yuan chuckled: "Thank you for the praise, Miss Su."

"However, I choose to cultivate in seclusion for the time being, keeping a low profile until I hand over the Heart-Calming Pill to the Supreme Dao Ancestor."

"Only by strengthening myself can I better fulfill my duty." (End of chapter)
