Chapter 581: Karmic Affinity with Our Master and Disciple
"Tell me where the other exorcists are." Zhu Bajie looked at Bu Yisi and said.
The Holy Order headquarters naturally knew the movements of the exorcists, at least their approximate locations.
This made it convenient for Zhu Bajie and the others to find all the exorcists and solicit their sacred weapons.
"What exactly do you want to do?" Bu Yisi felt it was difficult; being this Vice-Commander was too hard.
"Nothing much, just taking back all the Sacred Hearts." Zhu Bajie's tone was very flat.
Bu Yisi and the others, however, couldn't stay calm. Take back all the Sacred Hearts? Even Tang Luo couldn't do this!
"Stop dreaming!"
"My hand is the Sacred Heart; if you have the ability, come chop it off!" Dupont shouted loudly.
Hait, whose Sacred Heart was parasitically located in his head, buried his brain into the weapon pile, muttering: "Can't see me, can't see me..."
"There's actually such a request." Zhu Bajie smiled, grabbed Dupont, and looked over his arm, gesturing as if considering where to start cutting.
"Senior Brother, look, the Sacred Heart is at the elbow; we just need to chop down from a little above." Ao Yulie leaned over, pointing and indicating.
"Can't put it that way either."
Zhu Bajie was more steady. "Look, his whole arm has mutated; I think we should chop from the shoulder, to be safe."
"Works too." Ao Yulie accepted the advice readily.
Over there, Hait trembled, cold sweat pouring out.
Dupont wanted to struggle, but faint black electric arcs flickered on his body, rendering him unable to move.
"Wait, wait!"
Seeing the two fierce men about to act, Dupont shouted loudly, "I've fought demons with the Captain, killed Godspawn! I want to see the Captain! I want to see the Captain!"
"Have the demons really all been wiped out?" Over there Bu Yisi also shouted, "If it's true..."
"Monks do not speak falsehoods." Zhu Bajie threw Dupont back into the weapon pile.
Ao Yulie played the lackey: "Are you doubting my Master?"
"Naturally not doubting Lord Tang Luo." Bu Yisi shook his head; Tang Luo's strength, he had already heard enough to know well.
Just, facing the legendary World-Destroyer, could he still maintain his original powerful bearing?
"Perhaps, the two of you can return the sacred weapons to the exorcists; I can guarantee everyone will definitely stand on Lord Tang Luo's side, jointly dealing with the World-Destroyer and demons!" Bu Yisi suggested.
"Right."
"Exactly, we will definitely stand on the Captain's side!"
The five Generals, and the exorcists, spoke up one after another.
They were wholeheartedly convinced by Tang Luo; not to mention joining forces against demons and the World-Destroyer, even against the Council of Seven, most would likely follow.
As long as the Council of Seven is toppled and the Holy Order remains, they exorcists can just fight demons without worries.
The Council of Seven also sensed Tang Luo's tail was too big to control, enough to threaten them, so they acted decisively, cutting off the firewood under the cauldron, striking at Tang Luo, intending to solve the trouble at its root.
"No need, Master will be back soon." Zhu Bajie said, "You just tell us where the remaining exorcists are."
"I'll take you there."
Bu Yisi said; they were currently in a situation where they naturally couldn't move.
Zhu Bajie's Gui Water Yin Thunder was enough to suppress everyone at the Holy Order headquarters.
Exorcists aren't like demons; without sacred weapons in hand, they have no way to display various special abilities; they just have excellent physical constitutions.
As for the parasitic-type exorcists, they were given special attention.
Dupont, who went numb all over with the slightest move, as if a great mountain were pressing on him, is an example.
Zhu Bajie and Bu Yisi left... of course not directly to find those exorcists.
Rather, to check the movements reported back by those exorcists, to determine their approximate locations.
Ao Yulie and Xiaotian Quan were responsible for monitoring the Holy Order's people, preventing accidents.
You must know, the headquarters' people were a mixed bag; those standing on the Council of Seven's side were not few; even among exorcists there were a few.
No effort was made to distinguish who were neutrals, who were opponents, who could be won over.
Zhu Bajie and company cut through the knot with a sharp knife, pressing everyone down in one fell swoop.
Extremely effective.
After a while, Zhu Bajie and Bu Yisi returned: "You're fast, take Xiaotian Quan and make a trip."
Informed of the exorcists' locations.
Because of the period earlier when everyone fought Godspawn together, exorcists had gathered, then separated again; the distances between them weren't too far.
With Ao Yulie's speed, it wouldn't take too much time.
As for bringing Xiaotian Quan along, it was to prevent this vegetable dragon from capsizing.
"Let's go, doggy." Ao Yulie said.
Xiaotian Quan jumped onto Ao Yulie's head, howled, very stylish.
"I'm not your mount; I'm Master's sole designated mount." Ao Yulie grumbled a sentence, but didn't take Xiaotian Quan down, turning into a stream of light, vanishing into the horizon in an instant.
Zhu Bajie sat beside the sacred weapon pile, casually picked one up, smashed it hard, shattering the sacred weapon, leaving the Sacred Heart.
"Ah!"
An exorcist cried out in grief.
"This is for your own good." Zhu Bajie said earnestly, "After demons are gone, these things become sources of chaos; without an external enemy, everyone can't unite against the outside, internal strife is inevitable; better for us to take them away, solving the trouble at its root."
"This item has karmic affinity with my Buddha," "I'm doing this for your good" — his shameless bearing was very Buddhist.
"On what grounds!"
"Our things, we decide ourselves!"
Someone shouted, "Even the Captain has no right to decide for us!"
"Master is of course qualified," Zhu Bajie said. "He is the savior of this world; without him humanity would have gone extinct. And yet there are treacherous villains who plotted to kill my master. Do you know a Holy Order branch? It's ruins now. Why? Because someone there tried to blow up my master!"
"Warriors fight at the front; villains stab from behind!"
"Is there any law left! Is there any heavenly principle left!"
"This is the compensation and interest we are owed!"
Zhu Bajie spoke with righteous confidence, and incidentally numbed those shouting fellows with electricity.
That way no one refuted him anymore — how nice.
Bu Yisi wore a bitter face; being this vice-captain was too hard.
Several generals also had faces full of bitterness; being these generals was too hard as well.
After a while, a figure appeared in the sky, treading the void, lotuses blooming beneath his feet, crossing a kilometer's distance in a single step, arriving at the Holy Order headquarters.
Tang Luo descended, sweeping his gaze around.
"Captain!"
"Lord Tang Luo!"
"This madman claims he came on your orders — he's definitely lying!"
The originally fairly quiet headquarters training plaza instantly boiled with clamor.
"Quiet!" Zhu Bajie gave a low shout, suppressing the noise as he looked at the head Tang Luo had brought back. "Master, this is…"
"A World-Destroyer, and also a former God-Demon Walker," Tang Luo said.
Cainster had only a head left, at death's door, kept alive by Tang Luo.
The reason he hadn't died was simple: of course it was to buy Tang Luo and the others time to collect the Divine Hearts.
"Some things we'll discuss when we get back," Tang Luo said. "Are all the Divine Hearts here?"
"I've put away all the ownerless ones," Zhu Bajie said. "The weapons are here too. The remaining Little White Dragons and Doggy are still collecting; they should be back soon."
The Divine Hearts in the Divine Pool were also put away by Zhu Bajie.
Those Divine Hearts gathered together — though heavy as mountains, Zhu Bajie picking them up one by one had no trouble storing them.
Once the quantity decreased to a certain number, that heavy pressure vanished, becoming the same as an ordinary single Divine Heart, freely taken.
"The World-Destroyer has been beheaded." Tang Luo tossed Cainster's head down. "From now on there are no more demons in the world; you need not worry about the future."
"As for the Divine Hearts and Divine Weapons, I'll take them all as payment."
"Any objections?"
His gaze sweeping the whole field, Tang Luo asked.
Utter silence — even if there were objections, looking at the World-Destroyer's head on the ground, mouth still opening and closing but unable to speak, no one dared voice them now.
The exorcists' expressions were all conflicted.
On one hand they respected and thanked Tang Luo, genuinely from the heart; on the other hand hatred arose — why should he seize their power!
The two emotions intertwined, faces shifting uncertainly.
Suddenly, one of the Divine Weapons placed there shattered on its own.
An exorcist exclaimed in surprise: "I…" He was suddenly no longer a Resonator.
"Master…" Ao Yulie's voice came from the sky, *ding-ding-dang-dang* hundreds of assorted weapons raining down.
They fell making everyone's faces twitch.
"Put them away," Tang Luo said.
Zhu Bajie nodded, took out the Cursed House, and stored all the Divine Weapons inside it.
The Cursed House can bring out people from mission worlds; bringing out some items isn't impossible.
But it's not especially certain either.
If they really can't be brought out, Tang Luo and the others won't force it.
Actually there's another way: kill all the exorcists, wait for the Divine Weapons to collapse, then those Divine Hearts become ownerless.
Bringing them out that way would absolutely have no problem.
But the merit power needed to resurrect the exorcists is not small; truly calculated, they wouldn't earn much.
So Tang Luo didn't do that.
As for the Divine Hearts still hidden in this world, forget it — packing up every last one and taking them all isn't realistic.
Leave it to fate; leaving it to fate is fine.
Tang Luo and his group creating this much fate was enough.
Tang Luo took out that special Summoning Heart: "Since the World-Destroyer is dead, our mission is complete."
"You found a way back?" Bu Yisi stared blankly.
"More or less," Tang Luo answered ambiguously.
"We! We want to go back too!"
That group of high schoolers all shouted up.
"People will die," Zhu Bajie said expressionlessly, voice like a gloomy wind. "Ninety percent chance of death. If you're willing to gamble your lives with us, come on."
That side fell silent at once.
"Hm?" Tang Luo instead let out a faint sound of puzzlement.
"What's wrong, Master?" Zhu Bajie asked.
"Come in with me." Tang Luo didn't explain, just opened the Cursed House's main door and walked in.
Walking into the living room piled with Divine Weapons, a Divine Heart flew up and merged into the special Divine Heart floating in Tang Luo's hand.
"I can control this Divine Heart to fuse other Divine Hearts, accumulating the power needed for the summoning."
Tang Luo said with a smile, "Divine Hearts — they really do have fate with us master and disciple."
All the weapons in this room are fated!
