Chapter 394
Su Han spent some time spamming in the guild chat room, also testing his Observation Haki.
In the end, Su Han found that if he wanted to truly see the future and make prophecies using Observation Haki, it was of little use.
But if he wanted to predict an opponent's future attacks during combat, it was still no major problem.
Overall, though slightly disappointed, Su Han was still satisfied.
Time dripped away second by second.
Finally, Illya completed the reconstruction of the Holy Grail.
After sensing this with Observation Haki, Su Han activated the Flying Thunder God Technique and appeared instantly beside Illya, gazing at the Holy Grail before him, his eyes half-lidded, his voice calm.
"Then next… it's the final chapter!"
Kiritsugu Emiya and Artoria were both standing nearby.
They stared at the Great Holy Grail before them, filled with excitement, helplessness, regret, and many other complex emotions.
Su Han glanced at both of them, then raised his hand.
Terrifying lightning energy spread from his body; as Su Han clenched his fist, brilliant light pierced through the Holy Grail, the vessel capable of granting any wish.
Wei Bo's expression changed abruptly; he cried out, "Wait… my lord, did you get something wrong? This kind of Holy Grail should be purified, not destroyed by violence!"
Illya's expression turned blank.
She couldn't understand why Su Han would do such a thing.
She remembered clearly: if the Holy Grail was destroyed, the evil of this world would pour out from it.
Indeed, thick black malice slowly seeped from the point where the Holy Grail had been pierced.
At the very first sight, everyone suffered intense spiritual corruption.
Alexander instantly stepped in front of Wei Bo, his eyes half-lidded, voice slightly hoarse, "Indeed, it's strong… terrifying… but compared to the solidified aura of our lord, its pressure still falls short by a notch."
Heracles let out a roar and stood before Illya, saying nothing, his axe-sword swinging relentlessly at the evil of this world, his body taut.
If Su Han had not been standing here, Heracles' instinctive reaction through his Inner Eye would have been to grab Illya and run.
"Now you feel the malice called the evil of this world, don't you?"
Su Han turned his head and looked deeply at the dazed Kiritsugu Emiya.
"It's all over!"
Su Han raised his hand, his voice calm and unshaken, "Darkness Binding!"
In an instant, black light spread from Su Han's body, completely enveloping the Holy Grail.
Whether the Holy Grail or the evil of this world, fundamentally, both are forms of supernatural power.
If so, then let the Darkness Binding purify them.
Yet at the very moment it absorbed the darkness, Su Han's expression subtly changed—he sensed something wrong.
His Darkness Binding had not immediately destroyed the evil of this world; this feeling was more like… devouring it. Su Han's pupils shrank sharply, "The evil of this world… darkness?"
He fully activated Observation Haki; the glimpse of the future he saw vaguely told him this was not a bad thing.
Thus, Su Han instantly relaxed, pouring all his strength into the Darkness Binding to devour the evil of this world.
Eventually, the evil of this world was completely devoured.
Su Han closed his eyes and discovered that the current rank of his Dark-Dark Fruit had changed.
The Dark-Dark Fruit was now not only in a state where it could be upgraded via paid upgrades.
More importantly, if he wanted to further evolve the Dark-Dark Fruit via paid upgrades, the success rate was 13%.
"In other words… if there truly were ranks, then my Dark-Dark Fruit's current rank should be equal to Mirror Water Moon."
Su Han opened his eyes, a glimmer of understanding and delight shining in his gaze.
This meant he had directly upgraded two of his ranks by participating in this mission—and judging by the Dark-Dark Fruit's condition, he'd likely upgraded by more than one rank.
Thoughts flashed through his mind; Su Han instantly retracted the darkness—the Holy Grail before him had vanished.
Su Han turned around and looked deeply at Kiritsugu Emiya and Artoria.
Artoria stared at her own hands; her body emitted faint specks of light.
Clearly, she was about to dissipate.
"Has the Holy Grail War ended?"
Artoria's voice carried a complex tone.
She finally cast one last long look at Kiritsugu Emiya behind her.
"Though it wasn't a very pleasant journey… farewell! My Master… please say goodbye to Irisviel for me."
As her words ended, Artoria vanished.
Alexander the Conqueror had not disappeared; he now examined his own body, utterly bewildered.
Even as bold as he was, he could no longer remain calm.
"What's going on… did I somehow get my own body? But this feeling is slightly off… I'm still an Heroic Spirit's form!"
Su Han paid no attention to Wei Bo, only nodded to Illya, "Then, let's head back!"
Illya gazed intently at Su Han and nodded, "Whatever my lord big brother decides."
Su Han immediately clicked "Submit Mission."
In the next instant, brilliant light surrounded both of them—even Heracles' body was wrapped in a glow.
Though Heracles was restless, he calmed down under Illya's soothing.
Kiritsugu Emiya stared tightly at this scene, suddenly remembering something, reaching out toward Illya.
But before he could say anything, Illya had already vanished.
Long silence. Kiritsugu Emiya trembled as he pulled a cigarette from his pocket and took a deep drag.
"So, Mr. Kiritsugu Emiya, what will you do next?"
Wei Bo stared at Emiya Kiritsugu and suddenly spoke up.
"Let's head back... perhaps... the one called the President was right."
Emiya Kiritsugu slid his gun into its sheath, then turned and walked toward the exit of Ryūdō Temple.
His silhouette carried a hint of relief, and a hint of loss.
"Perhaps giving up your ideal is a good thing for you..."
Wei Bo stood silent for a long while, then finally turned and regarded Alexander with serious intent.
"Then, for the days ahead, I look to you for guidance."
