Chapter 5240: The Third Collapse Outbreak! Kevin and Su!

~3 min read 497 words

The H-Cracked World, Former Civilization.

Qianyu Academy.

Kevin stared blankly at the scenes before him—images beyond words. One by one, his once-familiar classmates twisted into grotesque, horrifying monsters, their faces contorting, their bodies deforming.

"What are you still doing here? Run!" Su rushed to Kevin's side, seized his hand, and sprinted toward the exit at top speed.

"Roar!"

Amid terrifying roars, wave after wave of dead soldiers lunged at Su and Kevin.

Kevin snapped out of it, clenched his Yaguan, and regardless of what was happening, his top priority now was simply to survive.

He kicked back with his heel, flinging the dead soldier away, and sprinted alongside Su down the school corridor.

"Where are we running to?" Kevin asked.

"To the roof!" Su's mind flashed with countless thoughts, and he finally made his decision. Going to the roof wasn't the best choice…

What if there were monsters on the roof too? That would be a nightmare. And if they got surrounded, they'd be trapped and crushed up there.

But from his earlier encounters, Su had vaguely sensed these monsters weren't like the zombies or undead from the novels and TV shows he'd seen.

Those undead were slow, their eyes useless—purely relying on sound to detect prey.

But these monsters? Not only were they strong, their speed was terrifying. If they hid in ordinary rooms… they might just tear the doors apart.

But hiding on the school roof might get them official help.

Su believed this horrifying phenomenon would trigger an immediate, terrifying response from the authorities.

They reached the roof without incident. Because Kevin often ate there, he had the key to the door… and slammed it shut again! They scanned the roof once more, confirmed no monsters were present, and exhaled in relief.

"Is it… really the end of the world?" Su sat down on the ground, finally coming to his senses. Recalling the scenes before, even he now looked dazed.

Suddenly, Su remembered something and turned sharply to Kevin, his face more serious than ever. "Before… you weren't joking, were you?"

"What?" Kevin blinked, then understood. He glanced again at the chat group and nodded solemnly. "Yes… but I don't know how to explain what's happening to me."

"Then don't explain it!" Su was understanding. He nodded, walking toward the railing as he spoke. "Figure out your little… Nengbuneng Gang. See if it can help us escape…"

Su's voice froze. His half-closed eyes slowly widened. Shock and disbelief spread across his face. "This… this kind of thing… how is this possible?!"

Kevin blinked, puzzled—until he too walked over to the railing, and his expression changed drastically.

Because, as far as the eye could see—4.6 kilometers—everything was shrouded in dust. On the streets, one dead soldier monster after another roared, tearing apart every living human in sight.

Car after car collided, exploding into sparks.

Explosions, dust, screams, the sound of flesh and bone being ripped apart…

These scenes wove together into a painting of hell.
