Chapter 824

~5 min read 847 words

"No one in the organization could ever have imagined something like this."

Conan, at a short distance from Hui Yuanai, was also breathing heavily; hearing Gin's words, his pupils shrank sharply and horror surfaced on his face.

But in the end, all disbelief on Conan's face turned to bitterness.

Gin had come to kill them—and revealed so much.

Added to the overwhelming power Gin had displayed earlier... Conan felt that he and Hui Yuanai were doomed this time.

"But... come to think of it, Hui Yuanai seems to have a huge secret too."

Conan looked at Hui Yuanai's back, his expression tinged with complexity.

He had just witnessed Hui Yuanai cover both hands in pitch-black Armament Haki, then catch a bullet barehanded.

But in the next instant, Gin loaded a brand-new bullet and fired—it exploded like a shell as it neared.

Even Hui Yuanai was now severely wounded.

It now looked utterly fatal.

But this still couldn't make Conan ignore what Hui Yuanai had just done—catching a bullet barehanded.

Catching a bullet barehanded—was that even humanly possible? Conan now doubted whether his lifelong materialist beliefs had been right at all—could there truly be supreme divine arts, and was Hui Yuanai... one of their inheritors? Hui Yuanai's body was taut; she wanted to close her eyes and communicate with her guild members for support.

But she dared not.

Mainly because she dared not divert her attention.

Hui Yuanai could feel Gin's killing intent—if she so much as blinked, Gin would take her life with his next breath.

At this moment, Hui Yuanai unleashed her Observation Haki to its full extent, holding her breath as she stood locked in confrontation with Gin.

His voice was low, continuing to question.

"Then what about your... exploding bullet?"

Gin relished speaking openly to Hui Yuanai. "Shirley... that was a system reward! Understand? Though I don't know why your power has become this... you're still no match for me!"

"Now is the moment!"

At the very instant Gin spoke, Hui Yuanai's body shot forward like an arrow released from a fully drawn bow—blazing with speed, appearing before Gin in an instant.

"This is the only chance!"

Hui Yuanai clenched her fist, squeezing out the last remnants of strength from her exhausted body, fully activating her beginner-level Armament Haki, and launched a punch straight at Gin's abdomen.

"Shirley, you still like playing tricks."

Gin laughed loudly, seized Hui Yuanai's hand, and with a single reverse throw, slammed her onto the ground.

Hui Yuanai's pupils shrank sharply; searing pain surged through her entire body, and blood spurted from her mouth. "How...?"

"I told you long ago, Shirley—a competent killer must not only gather sufficient intelligence."

"Possess extraordinary marksmanship."

"And never neglect their own physical skills!"

"Since I exchanged for a special type of bullet, do you think I wouldn't enhance myself?"

All amusement vanished from Gin's face; he looked at Hui Yuanai before him, his expression becoming extremely complex.

Finally, all of Gin's emotions faded away.

His face was blank, his gun aimed at Hui Yuanai's brain... "Then... goodbye, my Shirley."

A sharp crack rang out as the bullet shot forth.

Conan, watching from afar, had his pupils shrink sharply.

And almost at the same instant as the gunshot, a calm voice spoke: "Who gave you permission to attack my guild member?"

The air twisted, and Su Han's figure suddenly appeared.

He used the Flying Thunder God Technique, appearing instantly beside Hui Yuanai, and reached out to grasp.

The bullet was caught in his palm.

Then, the bullet exploded violently.

Su Han's palm trembled slightly.

"... Hui Yuanai, in your world, do they even have this kind of black tech—turning artillery shells into bullets?"

Su Han's brow twitched, his expression oddly disturbed.

Slowly, he opened his palm; several wisps of black smoke rose from it.

Hui Yuanai: "..."

If Hui Yuanai was speechless, then Gin was... incredulous.

"... Caught a Flaming Burst barehanded? How is that possible?"

Gin's body tensed instantly.

Though his mind was reeling, his movements were not slow—he slashed his leg upward in a swift kick toward Su Han.

Su Han casually caught Gin's leg, without even using Armament Haki.

Merely by his base physical strength, Su Han gave a light squeeze—and a crisp snap echoed.

Gin's leg bones and flesh were crushed into pulp by Su Han's grip.

2.

A muffled groan escaped Gin's lips.

His face twisted with horror and agony.

His mind was utterly blank—Su Han's appearance had shattered too many of his fundamental assumptions.

"Hui Yuanai, are you all right?"

Su Han casually flung Gin—he flew like a cannonball, smashing through several walls.

And crashed into the distance.

"... The Chairman really arrived just in time!"

Hui Yuanai let out a bitter laugh, gasping for breath a few times before regaining a little strength.

She forced herself up from the ground.

"An alarm went off at the Guild—I came at once."

Su Han said nothing.

Hui Yuanai suddenly remembered something, her pupils contracting sharply, she whispered, "Chairman, Gin has a System—this attack might not be fatal to him."

"He might escape."
