"Captain, could this be a trap?" Lin Yifan was about to follow when Ruan Qingtan hurriedly grabbed him and asked.

"Don't worry! With his strength, if he wanted to harm me, he wouldn't need any tricks," Lin Yifan said, patting her shoulder with a smile, then followed directly.

He was curious, though—why would this famed figure from the Intermediate Domain want a private talk with him?

As he drew near, Silver Face simply snapped his fingers.

A ring of flame instantly appeared around the two of them.

"What's this?" Lin Yifan pointed at the ring, looking puzzled.

"Just a sound‑proof barrier; I don't want anyone overhearing our conversation," Silver Face shrugged, scanned Lin Yifan from head to toe, then said:

"You're quite impressive."

"Huh?" Li Yifan looked at Silver Face bewildered.

"Talent's good, luck's good, perseverance's good, and character's good too!" Silver Face continued on his own:

"Do you know what kind of world this actually is?"

Lin Yifan shook his head: "I don't know much yet; I only know this world has many races, many districts, and an enemy called Red Moon."

"What you've learned may be right or wrong, but it's far from the core," Silver Face waved his hand, sighed lightly, and said:

"Actually this isn't a solitary world; it's more like a cosmic core, constantly spawning countless worlds as the core demands."

"Your Initial Domain, our Intermediate Domain, even this Instance plane—all originated that way. You could think of it as… this is a game!"

"We're merely players in the game; only by clearing every level can one earn the right to survive in this world. Your batch of Survivors is the third in nearly ten years—previous batches didn't make it past three years and died out completely."

"This…" Lin Yifan froze in place, then frowned and said:

"Mr. Silver Face, why are you telling me all this?"

He already had his own conception of what kind of world this was.

Of course he agreed with Silver Face—the world was indeed just a game!

Only there's no infinite respawn; you have just one life to die.

But he answered earnestly: "To be honest, I don't trust them, and I don't trust you either."

"Seems you're cautious—that's a good thing!" Silver Face wasn't angry at all; he even sounded pleased:

"So I'll tell you, in this world you mustn't trust any other races, because only we humans are the natives; all other races are invaders."

"They're natural opposites to us; everything they seize should belong to us humans, so you mustn't trust them, otherwise you'll die a terrible death."

Lin Yifan, hearing this, slightly furrowed his brow and asked in doubt:

"Why say humans are the natives? I don't know about you, but our batch of humans isn't native here; we come from a planet called Earth Star."

"Our home world was destroyed; to give us a chance to survive, we were placed into this world."

"Then how can you be sure this isn't Earth Star?" Silver Face said with a teasing tone.

"I didn't understand." Lin Yifan furrowed his brows even tighter, and one question after another rose in his mind.

"Fine, these aren't things you need to know now; just remember my words, and don't trust any non‑human races." Silver‑faced had no intention to explain, waved his hand, and said:

"The reason I summoned you, besides telling you this, is actually to give you something."

He flipped his palm, and a Blueprint appeared on his hand, which he handed to Lin Yifan.
