Chapter 497 497: 475. Xia Yan's Real Personality

"ARE YOU MESSING WITH ME?!!"

Liza tears off the diligently listening student facade before she takes the report from Xia Yan's hand then throws it at her face again just for the sake of it.

"*Panting* *Fuming* Y-You….*inhaling deeply exhaling slowly*"

She pointed her index finger towards Xia Yan in extreme anger thinking this bitch was just playing around with her.

"I asked for a reason not some stupid stuff, I want to report, I want to verify your medical license. Which board gave you that? Cross check it, I do not believe you are actually a licensed practitioner saying this stuff."

Little Loila was fuming with rage, she was so angry that her cute face was flushing so red that a single paper cut bled her to death, Her nostrils flared up like an angry cow ready to ram into idiots daring to piss her off like a mad cow.

How can she not be? They all are doctors, Her whole job is to find out the issue with patients then give them appropriate treatments.

She did not have an issue before finding out the cause in patients as she always found it at first glance then just started treating them directly for their problems.

But now that there is an issue of finding out what is wrong with her patient, how can she just wait and let things settle on it's own? This is not her way.

She always wanted to know what to do to know why and how of the issues then deal with the said issues, never in her life would she just sit down and just let body handle it on its own like it was some software error.

In her world knowing the cause is the first step of treating it and hence when Xia Yan said just let it be, Liza was first one to talk back pointing at Xia Yan in complete furcation and rage.

'And there it is."

Xia Yan shook her head muttering under her breath, seeing Liza reacting the way she thought she would react, the little good impression in her mind also wiped out, looking down at fuming Liza.

"I graduated from a prestigious university in this country. If you want to check, here are all my qualifications and degrees publicly available on the hospital official site."

She answered walking towards the IV line of Gloria adjusting it slightly making sure there is enough fluid in her body, taking into consideration elevated core temperature.

Yeah it was quite a higher core temperature, Normally she would have called it an emergency as there is a chance that temperature would cook her brain in it.

But after checking the vitals, she didn't rush to do things. She didn't know what was wrong with Gloria or rather why there were such changes in her body without any bad effects.

So she decided to wait, they did all the tests they could do and they were normal, doing anything else not knowing what is the cause would do more harm than good.

This is standard procedure, The 24-hours observation there to check vitals, changing Liza from her call here and putting head nurse who has more experience in handling such patients would keep Liza from tinkering with Gloria with her tests.

Of course, this is a temporary thing. After 24-hours observation if this situation improved? Great if not she would start to take more drastic measures.

"So you're just saying we wait, do nothing? what if something happened to her?"

Liza, seeing Xia Yan just answered her, wrote something in the record chart of Gloria before turning around ready to call the head nurse on the floor to manage the patient, this is indirectly kicking her out.

How can Liza allow that? Alex put Gloria in her hands, if something happened to this woman under her watch, how would she be able to show her face to him?

So she stood in front of Xia Yan's path, preventing her from walking away. She either forces Xia Yan to do more tests before they can start treatment or she does not leave Gloria alone doing tests on her own.

Either case she is not going to leave Gloria alone.

"Do you know what is wrong with her?"

Xia Yan, though annoyed, still maintained the professional tone as she asked Liza calmly.

"No, that is why I-"

"Oh?! So you know what new test to do that you have not done before?"

Liza wanted to argue about being questioned by Xia Yan. She did not know the reason, that is why she asked for more tests to figure it out but Xia Yan cut her off mid-sentence.

She directly asked what new tests Liza wanted to do that she had not done before.

Liza was lost for words, Yeah she was talking about doing tests but looking at the files of Gloria's reports scattered on the floor before shutting up.

She did any test she could, She even double tested it ignoring the false positive risks, wanting to figure out the reason for Gloria's state but everything was completely fine, making her not understand what to do and check it anymore.

"So you are saying we just keep pulling out her blood to find the cause of the issues?"

Xia Yan patiently asked her, This is her real personality, showing such confidence and authority even in front of the real miracle doctor Heronie.

The timid shy even harder to utter the single word Xia Yan only happens when she is in front of Alex, normally she carries herself in authority a head of department should possess.

She when it's come to her principals would stand her ground, going against even authoritative figures which is the reason for her fall in the original plot.

And right now she was doing the same, going against heroines questionable medical practice, just this time there was no protagonist's brain dead halo's effect.

"Yeah…..I mean what if it is something bad?"

Liza agreed right away before abruptly stopping. It was not long ago there was operation of Gloria, before there her condition was already frail due to malnutrition and long term effect on her body.

When she was admitted in the hospital, Gloria was also anemic needing blood transfusion before they even start doing treatment of Gloria's failing kidneys to keep it for while before they started dialysis.

And now after the operation it's not good to pull out too much blood. Last time she pulled out was nearly 80% of the allowed limit after the surgery.

So if they pull out more, her body might go into shock and her body might even reject the donor kidney. Liza knows it but there is also other stuff she has to worry about.

That high temperature and heart rate might be an early sign or body rejecting the kidney already, Though she checked and it's all found there was no rejection from the body yet but she was not sure about it.

Gloria's body is adapting this new donor kidney too well according to reports, If she herself has not done the surgery to transplant it, She even thought that these transplant reports are fake ones.

Of course, seeing these things she believed something wrong, the body just not sending s.o.s signals for some reason, which happens with some organs like the liver.

If this is the case then this is just too complicated as how can treat something that even the body itself is not acknowledging as broken?

"That is risk we have to take, Doing anything blindly now would be us harming her, Still just for ease of heart you can stay on call here, So if needed you be here, if her temperature stay the same we have to check cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) but that be last step."

Xia Yan sighed before pumping up the clipboard of Gloria making a few changes in it, for now not kicking Liza from the hospital just out of the ward, she would take rest and when needed she would be here.

Liza also knew this is a hard boundary of Xia Yan, anything more and she be put off the case of Gloria which means she is failing Alex, So she shut up and accepted it....for now at least.

"Also where is the family of the patient? We need her signature on these forms."

After seeing Liza did not fight it, Xia Yan go to the more important matter, There were forms that Grace had to sign which is the standard procedures.

"Oh, She said she is feeling hot and should be resting in the family waiting room."

Liza was bending down on the floor picking up the scattered reports she threw before putting it in their respective folders.

Then she heard Xia Yan's question. She thought for a while before remembering Grace said she was feeling hot and was resting in her waiting room, So she answered Xia Yan while cleaning her gloved hand with the hand sanitizer.

"Feeling hot you say? Does she have a fever?"
