Chapter 2: Red Attire. II
Red Attire. II
That cluster of shadows gradually spread out before Yuanxi's eyes, slowly transforming into a bridal chamber.
Bright red silk ribbons hung throughout the entire room. A giant "Double Happiness" character was pasted on the wall, appearing very festive.
A man looked affectionately at the woman sitting by the bed, holding a jade ruyi in his hand, and lifted the red bridal veil from her head.
A beautiful face was revealed.
The woman's eyes were closed, her forehead adorned with a floral decal, her lips painted with rouge, and her black hair coiled into a heavy bun, which further set off her gentle and virtuous temperament.
She wore a bright red wedding dress, a phoenix coronet on her head, and a rosy cape over her shoulders; beneath the layers of red skirts were a pair of red satin embroidered shoes with upturned tips, encasing her three-inch golden lotuses.
Seeing this girl who was both strange and familiar, the man could not help but gently stroke her cheek.
The woman softly opened her eyes and looked at the man; her almond eyes seemed to be veiled in a mist of water, and the corners of her eyes, set off by her makeup, seemed slightly flushed, appearing even more stunningly beautiful under the candlelight.
"Husband," she said softly, her voice light and gentle.
……
Yuanxi blinked slowly, her mind still somewhat muddled.
What did she just watch?! Just such a short little video, what is this, it has no flavor at all.
Forget it, whatever.
Yuanxi sighed, clearly thinking about what connection this video had to the plot here.
But... isn't there nothing here?
Just as she was thinking this, she couldn't help but look for that pair of embroidered shoes again, but they seemed to have vanished from before her eyes, leaving not a single trace.
If only there were some appropriate horror music playing in the room right now, that would be nice.
As Yuanxi thought this, the system suddenly played a piece of music right on cue; this was simply a divine synchronization!!
However, Yuanxi fell silent. Listening to that familiar "Good Luck Comes to Wish You Good Luck," she really had no heart left to think about this game. Uh, let's just say, why is this atmosphere so awkward...
The system also realized something and immediately turned off the music.
The system tried to salvage its dignity and played another song.
Listening to the tune of "Giving You Little Stars, Giving You a Flower," the last bit of reverence Yuanxi had managed to build up for the game vanished completely.
After all, she hadn't expected this system to be such a silly character.
"Good Luck" was one thing, but what the heck is "Listen to Me Say Thank You"? This is just too unreliable.
Yuanxi complained internally and wandered around the room.
Unfortunately, those red embroidered shoes didn't come out to scare her again.
Yuanxi sighed; see, the system is too good at playing awkward, even the ghosts were scared away by it.
There was no help for it, even a person with a calm heart like Yuanxi had dodged away, let alone those ghosts.
Thinking this, there were no more clues in the room, so she might as well go out and take a look.
Unexpectedly, the door was locked too.
Yuanxi turned around silently; fine, this game really knows how to play.
She went to look at the windows, but they were all sealed shut.
Sighing, she had better turn back and look for the key.
In the center of the room was a bed surrounded by gauze curtains; lifting them revealed a set of bridal wedding clothes neatly laid out, the bright red fabric embroidered with patterns in gold thread, gorgeous and festive. A golden phoenix coronet was pressed on top of the wedding clothes; looking at it as a whole, it was very—expensive.
Yuanxi had just begun to marvel at its luxury and hadn't touched it, but once she suddenly saw the key hanging from the phoenix coronet, it didn't matter how luxurious it was.
She wanted to get out!
