Chapter 17: Returning to Base City, New Plans

On the 24th‑floor rooftop of County 02011, which the Chasing Wind Squad uses as a base.

A black‑haired youth in combat uniform continuously wielded a black Long Spear; as he swung the spear, his body followed the spear's shadow, darting and turning, almost merging with it.

On the other side of the rooftop, the rest of the Chasing Wind Squad stared with admiration, constantly exclaiming:

"Old Zhou really gave birth to a fine son, only 18 years old, his physical quality already at the Junior War General level, and he's mastered the gun technique claimed to be the hardest on Earth—this is definitely a budding war god!"

"Really, I'm genuinely envious."

The group chatted and laughed, without hurrying.

It wasn't until over an hour later that the spear‑piercing sounds from Zhou Yang's side finally faded.

However, if sold to Jixian Wuguan, a certain amount of contribution points can be earned; once the contribution points reach a certain star level, purchases in the internal shop receive discount benefits.

Zhou Yang, wielding the black Long Spear, hurried over.

After confirming no one objected, he turned to the crowd and said with a smile:

"Uncle Lei, Uncle Liu, Sister Xia, Brother Chong, sorry to have kept you waiting!"

Although this county‑level wilderness area is relatively safe, the number of Beast General‑rank monsters is truly limited.

For example, previously within the Chasing Wind Squad, leader Lei Hong was the core and main attacker; during distribution he claimed 40% of the loot for himself, while the remaining four each received 15%.

Hearing that, Zhou Yong beside him instantly became displeased and shouted loudly:

After spending over a month in the desolate, ruined wilderness, returning to the bustling human Base City, Zhou Yang felt as if he were in another world, and he could not help but sigh.

"Does anyone have any objections?"

"Alright, let's get down to business!"

The black off‑road vehicle sped along the main road, finally stopping beneath a towering skyscraper.

At that moment he was drenched in sweat, yet his gaze was exceptionally sharp and bright.

However, with Zhou Yang's addition this time, one person took 30% alone, so everyone's share proportionally decreased.

The slightly older, fair‑skinned youth Chen Chong chuckled, "You, kid, aren't you trying to avoid trouble and distance yourself from us?"

"Your account has received 39,000,000 yuan, current balance 39,254,000 yuan."

"During the Beast General‑rank monster kills, it was basically me and Zhou Yang leading the attack, others supporting. Thus Zhou Yang and I each took 30%, 39 million each; the rest of you each took 10%, about 13 million each."

Compared with selling to Jixian Wuguan's internal shop, the HR Alliance offers a slightly higher price.

"This time our Beast Soldier‑rank materials sold for over 1.2 million points, mostly gathered by Zhu Xia and the others; based on contribution Zhu Xia earned over 280,000 points, Zhou Yang over 180,000."

After emerging, Zhou Yang and the other Chasing Wind Squad members boarded a rugged six‑wheel extended off‑road vehicle.

Having heard Lei Hong's distribution, Zhou Yang quickly gestured and said:

"Uncle Lei, this trip back to County 02011 was originally to look after me and delayed everyone, so you don't need to give me so much. Let's do this: I'll split my 30% evenly with everyone."

"This time we killed 11 Beast General‑rank monsters, 2 of them mid‑rank and the rest all junior rank; all the materials sold for over 130 million points."

But as soon as he said that, everyone objected.

"The captain means…"

Zhou Yang gave an apologetic smile.

Hearing Lei Hong's words, Zhou Yong and the others all smiled.

"We came to County 02011 mainly to let Zhou Yang acclimate to the environment first. Looks like this kid is adapting quite quickly!"

"Yeah, after this trip we didn't even get half of what we used to harvest."

They harvested a lot of monster material in the wilderness this time, and after discussion decided to sell through the HR Alliance.

Originally the supply base already had an HR Alliance procurement officer, but their price was slightly lower.

"Zhou Yang, don't be modest with us; as your strength grows, we'd love to share your glory!"

"Still… the Base City is lively!"

"City 023?"

"Once we're strong enough, we must re‑establish civilization order in the wilderness; it's all the great rivers and mountains of the motherland!"

Thus neither of these options is inherently better; it depends on personal needs.

"Now we'll distribute the Beast General‑rank material harvest."

The Warrior Squad's monster harvests in the wilderness each have their own internal allocation method, but generally follow the labor‑based distribution system.

Seeing everyone's gaze turn to him, he continued smiling:

"Let's head straight to City 023!"

Even Zhou Yang beside him showed a yearning expression.

A few kept urging, and Zhou Yang, unable to keep refusing, could only smile and nod in agreement.

His words instantly provoked a burst of laughter from the group.

Lei Hong performed a quick operation nearby, and Zhou Yang's phone soon received a message.

"Yeah, take it."

Now his physical quality has reached the Junior War General threshold, and he's also mastered the first tier of the 'Apocalypse' spear technique; his strength can certainly sweep away all junior Beast General‑rank monsters.

The group didn't dawdle, finding a corner in the HR Alliance Branch to discuss dividing the money.

"Haha, finally we can return to the city‑level wilderness; hunting efficiency in this tiny county was too low!"

"Hahaha"

"Although our outing was short this time, the haul was decent, mainly because we had Zhou Yang's War General‑level firepower!"

"You kid, you only remember Uncle Lei and Sister Xia, have you forgotten your father?"

Even Lei Hong laughed, "Zhou Yang, no need for that; we allocate by contribution—that's the squad's rule—just take it calmly."

Lei Hong first distributed the money from selling the Beast Soldier‑rank materials according to each person's contribution.

"My point is, this operation ends here; tomorrow we'll return to Base City, everyone rests and resupplies for a few days, next—"

Lei Hong and the others laughed and joked for a while, then he let out a light cough and called them back.

Zhou Yang let out a silent sigh in his heart, then followed the members of the Wind Element Squad into the towering HR Alliance Branch building before them.

Before the Great Nirvana, human society had undergone thousands of years of development to possess the flourishing civilization of that era.

Yet the Great Nirvana lasted only a brief dozen‑plus years, and all the former prosperity was as bubbles of Destruction, leaving behind countless ruins scattered across the wasteland, as if silently recounting humanity's former glory.

Whether considering earning efficiency or honing strength, staying any longer in County Town No. 02011 was indeed becoming unsuitable.

The train returning from the supply base to Jiangnan Base City slowed to a halt, and the passengers swarmed out.

Lei Hong found an old acquaintance who had handled materials here before; after some haggling, he quickly handed over all the materials from his backpack.

The Wind Element Squad acted swiftly; once the plan was set, they wasted no time and set out for the base city at first light the next day.

Since everyone was heading back to the base city anyway, they went straight to the HR Alliance Branch here in Jiangnan Base City.

When they heard Lei Hong's confirmation, everyone laughed.

After this dividend hit the account, the wallet instantly swelled again.

After the last equipment purchase, Zhou Yang had almost spent all the cash on his card.

Crack!

But when he thought of the exaggerated 10‑billion amount for purchasing the second tier of the "Apocalypse" manual, he let out another helpless sigh.

"Lei Shu, let's cut a few days of rest and head to City No. 023 earlier!"
