Chapter 188: Supreme Council, Announcement

The Human Race's supreme council comes in two forms; one is a large‑scale supreme council, attended by all Universe Venerables, all Universe Masters, and all Universe Strongest.

Such large‑scale supreme councils are usually convened for major incidents, or events that affect the interests of the Universe Venerables.

Other important matters involving the clan are discussed internally by the highest tier, with only the Universe Masters and Universe Strongest attending, since the meeting is called by the Great Axe Founder and is also known as the "Great Axe Conference".

The meeting convened this time is the first type, the large‑scale supreme council.

The Temple of the Gods on the Gods Mountain of the Virtual Universe serves as the venue; it opens only on the day the supreme council is held and remains closed otherwise.

Human strongmen appear one after another, and soon the place has gathered over a thousand Universe Venerables, the number continuously increasing.

The gathering on Gods Mountain is split into two locations; one gathers four‑star, five‑star, and six‑star strongmen, generally those of primary, intermediate, and high‑level Universe Venerable combat strength.

The other location… is where the seven‑star Overlords and Temple Lords gather, i. e., the gathering place of Universal Overlords and Universe Masters.

When Zhou Yang appears, the gathering place of Universal Overlords and Universe Masters already has many people, with several Universe Masters present.

The moment Zhou Yang appears, he immediately draws everyone's attention.

"Lord of Reincarnation."

Some Universal Overlords slightly bow in respect.

The few Universe Masters, however, are far more casual.

"Zhou Yang has arrived."

"Reincarnation."

"Ha ha, you haven't shown up since the last council for a long time."

"I heard you've been studying the Treasure Refining Art lately."

Several Universe Masters warmly greet him.

"Just casually researching a bit."

Zhou Yang also engages in idle chat with them.

Time passes, and the number of strongmen gathered on Gods Mountain keeps growing, gradually approaching the start time of the supreme council.

Until the Great Axe Founder, the Chaos City Lord, the Xujin Lord, and others appear together, and the sky over Gods Mountain instantly roars.

Zhou Yang looks up and sees, amid the clouds, a towering temple floating in the air—the venue "Hall of the Gods", and at this moment the two doors of the Hall, radiating dazzling golden light, slowly open: "Human strongmen, gather!"

A majestic voice echoes throughout Heaven and Earth.

Whoosh! All the strongmen on Gods Mountain instantly vanish, all being teleported into the Hall of the Gods.

"Boom—..."

The two doors, bathed in golden light, slam shut.

Inside the Hall of the Gods stands an enormous, exquisitely carved round table, surrounded by countless thrones densely arrayed around it.

Those countless divine thrones are divided into five tiers.

Widths of 2 m, 10 m, 50 m, 200 m, and 1000 m correspond respectively to primary Universe Venerables, intermediate Universe Venerables, high‑level Universe Venerables, Universal Overlords, and the pinnacle Human Race's Universe Masters and Universe Strongest.

At the highest level, on the towering thrones, Zhou Yang and the other Universe Masters sit aloft, overlooking all other human strongmen.

"Junior brother, how does it feel to attend this supreme council for the first time?"

Sitting beside Zhou Yang is the Youhou Lord, also of the same lineage of the Virtual Universe Company.

"It's okay."

Zhou Yang smiles, "It just seems our Human Race's Universe Venerable count isn't that large."

From his lofty seat, all positions below are fully visible.

What surprises him is that the total number of Universal Overlords and Universe Venerables below is only a few thousand, not even ten thousand.

These are the Universe Venerables of the entire Human Race, yet there are so few, completely contrary to his expectations.

He recalls that in the original work, Luo Feng, during the battle on the Primordial Star, used a single Strongest Secret Method to annihilate over 6,000 Universe Venerables from the three major alien factions, nearly matching the total number of the Human Race's Universe Venerables!

Of course, those present are only the Human Race's internal Universe Venerables; if all the alien races of the Hong Alliance were added, the figure would multiply many times over.

"Ha ha, you bring that up."

The Youhou Lord laughs brightly, "There's no way around it; most of our Human Race's life genes and talents are limited. Compared with races like the Demon Race that possess unique talents, our advancement speed is slower and the number of Venerables is indeed fewer. However, despite the smaller number, our Human Venerables, constrained by limited innate talent, must devote more effort to secret technique study, so their combat power is extremely high."

"I see now."

Zhou Yang nods.

While they chat idly, the other Universe Masters seated on the dozen towering thrones also converse casually.

Zhou Yang listens for a while; the most frequently mentioned topic is still about Luo Feng.

"Chaos, your favoritism toward Luo Feng seems to have upset many Universe Venerables."

"Their discontent is not surprising. Soul Type Supreme Treasure! Chaos, your disciple Guiyi... that also possesses Universal Overlord strength; he has followed you for years, yet it seems he never received a Soul Type Supreme Treasure. He never got one, while Luo Feng, who was merely a Realm Lord at the time, obtained one... perhaps the Guiyi Venerable also feels some grievance."

"What a damn complaint!"

"Granting them treasures is a favor! Withholding treasures is natural! Want a Supreme Treasure? They must fight for it themselves, hm... Whoever Chaos grants a Soul Type Supreme Treasure, that treasure is Chaos's own gain. Who should receive it, no one has the right to argue."

"In my view, we should make an example—kill one to warn a hundred; the one who jumps most joyfully should be directly imprisoned in the Initial Universe's prison."

"That's excessive; we can't prevent the lower Venerables from discussing it. They haven't looted or killed, so they shouldn't be sent to the Venerable prison."

From the misty haze, each of the towering dozen thrones spoke, all discussing how Luo Feng, when he was a Realm Lord, already possessed multiple Supreme Treasures, which provoked jealousy and discontent among many Human Race Universe Venerables. Zhou Yang looks down and immediately spots Luo Feng seated in the "intermediate Universe Venerable" area.

At this moment, many Universe Venerables seated in the same area repeatedly glance at him, their eyes showing traces of jealousy and discontent.

Under this barrage of gazes, Luo Feng remains composed, his mind unshaken.

"One should not worry about scarcity but about inequality; even among this pinnacle of endless Universe's strongest, the principle applies. Yet you all don't realize, this is all Luo Feng's own destiny."

Zhou Yang sighs inwardly.

"All of you."

At this moment, the Chaos City Lord on the Jin Shu throne smiles, "I may dote on this disciple, but everyone knows how I act; I would never grant Luo Feng a Soul Type Supreme Treasure while he is merely a Realm Lord. Except for the 'Assassinate Wu Yuyi' item, which I bestowed, all others he obtained by his own chance."

Ah?

The Supreme Treasure he obtained himself?

No wonder… I heard that Chaos bestowed three Supreme Treasures upon Luo Feng and felt puzzled; Chaos isn't that kind of being, I see.

On more than a dozen divine thrones, voices of conversation filled the air.

At this moment, Zhou Yang seized the opportunity to transmit his plan to the Chaos City Lord.

Oh? It can actually forge Supreme Treasures? You've given your master an unexpected delight.

The Chaos City Lord was slightly startled, then nodded and said, "What you mention isn't a big deal; in a moment I'll help you by mentioning it."

Thank you, teacher.

Zhou Yang said respectfully, then took his seat upon the throne and waited silently.

A moment later—

Everyone!

The Chaos City Lord's warm, majestic voice resonated, and the entire Grand Temple fell silent at once.

Then, the Chaos City Lord directly announced the theme of this supreme council— the Primordial Star is about to open! "Primordial Star opening?"

Ha ha, the Primordial Star is about to open, wonderful! This is the place in the Original Universe where Supreme Treasures are easiest to obtain!

It has finally opened again.

One by one, Universe Venerables—some delighted, some exhilarated, and some puzzled by a newly risen Venerable like Luo Feng.

But soon the information about the Primordial Star was dispatched, and these newly risen Venerables were also stirred.

The Primordial Stars number 10,081! According to messages transmitted since the birth of the Universe, these 10,081 Primordial Stars orbit the Universe Origin Land, and are considered the places in the entire Universe closest to the Universe Origin Land.

The 10,081 Primordial Stars also nurture countless treasures, yet harbor many perils.

There are 10,081 Routes leading to the Primordial Stars, but these myriad routes… are normally kept closed, and only after an extremely long span of time do they open once.

Each opening lasts for a thousand eras! After a thousand eras it closes… all entering strong ones must exit before the closure, or they will inevitably fall!

Regardless of doppelganger lingering, avatar lingering, or any other Secret Techniques, they are ineffective; if one remains on a Primordial Star when it closes… they will certainly fall!

No exceptions!

This is the most mysterious place in the Universe! No other place can surpass it.

The 10,081 Primordial Stars, though fraught with danger, also contain countless treasures; Heavy Treasures are hardly worth mentioning, while Supreme Treasures appear frequently!

Super beings of the Universe's myriad races will engage in frantic slaughter here, battling for their respective peoples' treasures! Each opening is a terrifying massacre… with each opening, a Universe Master falls within.

It's bloody and cruel, yet also an unimaginable opportunity!

If luck grants one or two powerful Supreme Treasures suited to oneself, one's strength can instantly jump to a far higher tier!

Even if one cannot use them, they can be contributed to the tribe, earning abundant Heavy Treasure Points and Supreme Treasure Points, which can be exchanged for needed items.

One could say that the opening of the Primordial Stars holds a deadly allure for all Venerables yearning for power!

Yet some Venerables lament and wrestle with regret.

Alas, I have just broken through to Venerable, my strength is a bit lacking, and I am now unconnected to this Primordial Star.

I, as a member of the Leiluo Tribe, with my spiritual attack talent, am not afraid of higher Venerables, but my divine body defense is somewhat weak; it would be great to have a Supreme Treasure armor.

Unfortunately, my Heavy Treasure Points are still short; with a little over a thousand more points I could exchange for a Supreme Treasure.

After enduring endless years of torment, the chance to turn things around finally arrives; dear friends, could you lend me a few Supreme Treasures? I will repay you 1.5 times after I return.

You settle down a bit, first repay what you owe from before.

Opportunities are rare, so all Universe Venerables naturally crave the Primordial Stars greatly.

However, after the Primordial Stars open, myriad strong beings gather, fighting incessantly; it is fraught with danger, yet it deters many who are just a bit weaker.

And the fastest way to boost strength in a short time is to possess a Supreme Treasure suited to oneself.

But Supreme Treasures are exceedingly rare, and with the Primordial Stars opening, even asking others to borrow one is extremely difficult.

Everyone needs them for themselves; who would lend them to you? At that moment, the lofty Grand Temple's sky once again echoed the authoritative voice of the Chaos City Lord.

Besides the opening of the Primordial Stars, there is another matter to announce.

The Chaos City Lord's voice thundered, "To enhance the strength of our Human Race Venerables, during the Primordial Stars' opening, if you possess sufficient Supreme Treasure materials, you may go to the Hall of the Lord of Reincarnation; the Lord of Reincarnation will forge Supreme Treasures for you free of charge, though only up to the Ordinary Supreme Treasure level."
