Chapter 370

~7 min read 1,299 words

"It's a good thing the mission was completed smoothly."

Kitazawa felt it didn't really matter.

Because his true goal wasn't Kenichiro, but Karin and her mother.

But how to reasonably get to the Hidden Grass Village was also a problem.

"Let's go."

Kitazawa grabbed Kenichiro's shoulder and said, "Let's hurry; we might be able to return to the Hidden Leaf Village by tonight."

Their mission was to capture the rogue ninja Kenichiro, not to bring back his corpse.

Of course, if there was absolutely no other way, they could bring back the corpse, but it would affect the mission's completion rating.

"Mm."

Kurenai Yuhi nodded and said.

Because they were carrying an unconscious Kenichiro, the two didn't take the usual path when leaving the metropolis.

They found a secluded path, walked to a corner of the city wall, and climbed over it.

Once out of the metropolis, they were met with the vast grassland.

"I remember the Hidden Grass Village is not far away. I'll have a Shadow Clone go over and buy two lunches."

After walking for ten minutes, Kitazawa saw the timing was right and said casually.

"No need for that much trouble."

Kurenai Yuhi said dismissively, "I'll just eat my bento."

"The bento is cold by now; it won't taste that good."

Kitazawa gave a light laugh and asked, "Besides, it's rare that we're out here; don't Itachi want to taste the local delicacies of the Hidden Grass Village?"

"Alright then."

Kurenai Yuhi didn't think much of it and agreed.

Kitazawa performed hand seals and created a Shadow Clone.

The two exchanged a glance, and the Shadow Clone immediately turned and headed toward the Hidden Grass Village.

"We can just wait while we walk."

Kitazawa took the still-unconscious Kenichiro and continued walking forward with Kurenai Yuhi.

Their speed, however, was much slower.

Time reached noon.

The two found an open space to stop and rest, and eat lunch while they were at it.

"I wonder when your Shadow Clone will be back."

Kurenai Yuhi glanced at Kenichiro and said.

Kenichiro had woken up once before, but Kitazawa knocked him out again.

In his words, a dead person is more useful than a living one, and an unconscious person is less trouble than a conscious one.

"He should catch up soon."

Kitazawa thought for a moment and said, "This isn't a time of Great Ninja War; the Hidden Grass Village wouldn't dare lay a hand on ninjas from the Hidden Leaf Village."

He guessed the Shadow Clone was delayed because it was looking for Karin and her mother.

"And that's a Shadow Clone."

Kitazawa continued, "If something really happened, I would know immediately."

"That's true."

Kurenai Yuhi didn't ask further, her gaze falling on Kitazawa.

"Why do Itachi keep looking at me?"

Kitazawa reached out, waved his hand in front of her eyes, and asked.

"I'm only allowed to look at Itachi, but I'm not allowed to look at Itachi?"

Kurenai Yuhi raised the corner of her mouth and asked with a smile.

"What I mean is, if Itachi want to see more clearly, I can take off my clothes for Itachi to see."

Kitazawa said with a straight face.

"Pervert!"

Kurenai Yuhi spat and said with disdain.

"Itachi're the one who wants to look, so why are Itachi scolding me?"

Kitazawa raised his hand and patted her thigh.

"..."

Kurenai Yuhi's mouth twitched.

She really couldn't do anything about this thick-skinned guy.

Just then, the sound of wind breaking approached from afar.

"The lunch I bought is inside."

Kitazawa's Shadow Clone appeared before them and set down a summoning storage scroll.

Kurenai Yuhi opened it and took out the food.

Kitazawa dispelled the Shadow Clone and reviewed its memories.

After the Shadow Clone reached the Hidden Grass Village, it used the Transformation Jutsu to sneak in and began searching for Karin and her mother.

Although the Hidden Grass Village wasn't large, Karin and her mother were special and had been deliberately hidden.

However, the Shadow Clone still found a way.

It ambushed a Hidden Grass Chunin, injured him, and eventually followed him to find Karin and her mother.

After reviewing the memories, Kitazawa couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The goal had been achieved; now he just needed to tell Tsunade.

He wondered if rescuing Karin and her mother would trigger a new mission.

Judging by the operation to rescue Yakushi Nonō and Yakushi Kabuto, the possibility was quite high.

"Did your Shadow Clone encounter anything in the Hidden Grass Village?"

Kurenai Yuhi noticed his expression and asked.

"There is one thing."

Kitazawa didn't hide it and said directly, "The Shadow Clone encountered a red-haired female ninja in the Hidden Grass Village."

"Red hair? That's quite rare."

Kurenai Yuhi raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why did she catch your Shadow Clone's attention?"

In the ninja world, many people have special hair colors, such as red.

Generally speaking, only ninjas of the Uzumaki clan have red hair.

Of course, there are exceptions, such as the Hidden Sand rogue ninja and Akatsuki member, Sasori.

"Her exposed skin was covered in teeth marks."

Kitazawa replied.

"What kind of situation is that?"

Kurenai Yuhi couldn't help but be stunned.

"If a person has enough chakra, others can absorb her chakra in this way."

Kitazawa said slowly.

"What?"

Kurenai Yuhi's eyes widened, and she asked angrily, "There's actually such a heartless method?"

She could fully imagine the inhumane things that red-haired female ninja must have gone through to be left covered in teeth marks.

"Red hair, and so much chakra; I suspect she is a ninja of the Uzumaki clan."

Kitazawa said in a deep voice, "Itachi know, the Uzumaki clan and our Hidden Leaf Village are allies."

"This matter should indeed be reported to the Hokage."

Kurenai Yuhi nodded heavily and said.

Although the Uzumaki clan had been destroyed, the alliance relationship had not been dissolved.

Moreover, the Hidden Leaf Village owed the Uzumaki clan; after all, they hadn't been able to provide rescue in time back then.

The two ate lunch, took Kenichiro, and continued on their way.

Night fell.

Kitazawa and Kurenai Yuhi had been traveling for a day and finally returned to the Hidden Leaf Village at night.

It was already late at night, but fortunately, there were still staff on duty at the Hokage building.

After handing Kenichiro over to the staff, Kitazawa returned home with Kurenai Yuhi.

"It's still best at home; I'm absolutely exhausted!"

Kurenai Yuhi took off her shoes and collapsed onto the sofa.

Because they were in a hurry to return, they hadn't stopped at all that day except for lunch.

"Get some good rest."

Kitazawa looked at her perfectly curved waist and hips, resisted the urge to go over and pat them, and said.

"See Itachi tomorrow."

Kurenai Yuhi looked up at him.

After he left, she remembered the massage from last night.

"Bad guy."

Kurenai Yuhi buried her head again, feeling a vague heat in her heart.

Kitazawa looked at the sky and didn't rush to find Tsunade.

After all, she was likely asleep by now.

A new day, which was Monday.

Kitazawa arrived early at the residence where Tsunade and Shizune lived.

He raised his hand and knocked on the door.

A moment later, the door opened, and Shizune appeared in her nightgown.

Kitazawa curiously took a look.

Although Shizune was relatively flat, her figure was indeed quite good.

"Kitazawa?"

Shizune woke up completely and said somewhat embarrassedly, "I just woke up, I haven't had time to change my clothes yet."

"It's fine."

Kitazawa complimented, "This nightgown is quite pretty."

"Thank Itachi."

Shizune paused and asked, "Coming over so early, is there something Itachi need?"

"I have an urgent matter to discuss with Lady Tsunade."

Kitazawa replied.
