Chapter 15: 5-Star Hell-Difficulty Job Change Quest: Slay! The Fallen Dark Magic Dragon!

The Job Change Temple was a semi-artificial service institution; it formed naturally after the world's mutation, but there were also people responsible for managing it.

Generally, life-class professionals served as the managers.

Entering the Job Change Temple, Lu Zheng saw a hot-bodied woman in black leather. Seeing someone enter, she immediately came forward with a smile:

"Little brother, are you here for a job change? It costs ten gold coins. If you haven't brought enough, big sister can lend it to you!"

Tang Xueting's eyes gleamed. Such a tender, handsome young man was rare indeed. To complete a first job change at such a young age meant a bright future. If she could keep him as a long-term meal ticket, that would be wonderful; even if just for one night, it should be quite a good experience.

Feeling this woman's burning gaze, Lu Zheng's face flushed red. A pure-hearted high school boy like him—how could he withstand this kind of test!? "Cough, cough, thank you, sister. I brought money. Here are ten gold coins."

He hastily pulled out the money. Tang Xueting took the coins but seized the opportunity to grab his hand, then said as they walked:

"Follow me. Once inside, you just need to touch the Job Change Spirit Altar to receive your Job Change Quest. If the Job Change Quest has no item submission requirement, you'll automatically complete the job change on the spot upon finishing it and gain your job change skill."

Job change skills had nothing to do with Lu Zheng. As a summoner, he had only one summoning technique from start to finish. After a job change, it would just be the summoning technique's level increasing, raising the probability of obtaining high-quality pets.

Of course, this was also a good thing. Though the increased probability was very low, with enough attempts on his part, under the same sample size, the number of high-quality summoned beasts obtained would also increase accordingly!

A few minutes later, Lu Zheng placed his hand on the Job Change Spirit Altar.

【Detected current professional level: Level 30. First job change condition for professional has been met.】

【Congratulations! You have received a 5-star Hell-difficulty Job Change Quest: Slay! The Fallen Dark Magic Dragon!】

【Quest Description: The former flame dragon Vex was corrupted by darkness and fell, becoming a dark magic dragon. Hunted and severely wounded by the dragon clan, it now hides within Ridge Mountain, recovering its strength through slumber. As time passes, its power will gradually be restored.】

【Quest Requirement: Solo-slay the LV. 200 Overlord-class BOSS: Dark Magic Dragon Vex.】

What the hell! A 5-star Hell-difficulty quest—what's there to congratulate me for!? Job Change Quest difficulty was divided from low to high into four major tiers: Normal, Hard, Dangerous, and Hell. Each major tier was further divided into five stars. A 5-star Hell-difficulty meant the highest possible level.

He was just an ordinary summoner—by all rights it should be Normal difficulty! Also, I'm a Level 30 summoner and you want me to go kill a Level 200 magic dragon. Is that reasonable? Is there any justice? Is there any law!?

Lu Zheng's mood right now could be summed up in one word: furious.

Seeing his expression turn dark and gloomy after accepting the quest, Tang Xueting stepped forward, took his hand, and said softly, "Little brother, if the Job Change Quest is too difficult, you can first continue raising your skill proficiency, buy equipment, and boost your own strength before going to complete the quest!"

Lu Zheng glanced at the line in the quest description—"As time passes, its power will gradually be restored"—his face darkened. He shook off her hand, dropped a single sentence, turned, and left.

"Thanks for the reminder, sister!"

Watching Lu Zheng run off without looking back, Tang Xueting couldn't help but stomp her foot hard. After he'd gone far away, she couldn't resist bringing the hand that had just touched Lu Zheng to her nose and sniffing it. The next moment, her face turned crimson, and she couldn't help but exclaim, "Ah! So this is the scent of a strapping young man!"

After leaving the Job Change Temple, Lu Zheng first went to buy two Return City Scrolls as life-saving items. After all, this was reality—there was no such thing as resurrection. Dead was truly dead.

Then, he went directly through the teleportation array to the quest location.

According to the quest information, the Ridge Mountain dungeon was located outside Black Stone City, a Level 3 alert-status city adjacent to Liyang City. It was an intermediate professional dungeon with monsters ranging from Level 50 to 60, filled with dragon-blood-mutated monsters of formidable strength, making it the strongest dungeon in Black Stone City.

But no one knew that within this dungeon, which had only appeared ten years ago, there also lurked a Level 200 dark magic dragon—and Lu Zheng's quest was to kill it! Truly, the more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

Lu Zheng felt he might have been deliberately targeted.

Professionals who hadn't completed their first job change were not allowed to leave the range of their city. But if they were going out to do a Job Change Quest, not only could they leave, they could also use the teleportation array for free.

Most people would experience dizziness, blurred vision, and vomiting the first time they rode a teleportation array. However, Lu Zheng had powerful mental strength and possessed a Divine Skill passive ability, giving him extremely high mental resistance, so he was unaffected.

Arriving at Black Stone City, Lu Zheng didn't linger. After leaving the city directly, he took flight under the moonlight.

Seeing him take flight, many people showed expressions of amazement, because for the vast majority of professionals, it was only after reaching the second job change and becoming advanced professionals that they would master flight spells. Even the strongest patrol envoy of Black Stone City was merely an advanced professional. The appearance of any powerhouse at that level was something to be revered.

No one noticed that this so-called advanced professional was just a Level 30 summoner. After all, even if he said it out loud, no one would believe it.

A summoner? What gutter-tier profession—how could he be worthy!?

Lu Zheng needed to hurry. That dark magic dragon's strength was constantly recovering. Even if he tried hard to level up, he couldn't catch up to its recovery speed! Not to mention that he couldn't level up right now anyway—his level was already locked because of the Job Change Quest.

Ah, wait!

I can't level up, but my summoned beasts can! At this thought, Lu Zheng's flight speed faltered for a moment, then he immediately turned and flew toward the Forest of Mist, not far from the Ridge Mountain dungeon.

The Forest of Mist was a large-scale comprehensive dungeon. The dungeon's edge had monsters from Level 10 to 20. As one went deeper, the monsters' strength increased by zone. The deepest reaches teemed with large numbers of Level 40 to 50 monsters.

This was exactly a place suitable for leveling up summoned beasts.

For now, Lu Zheng couldn't count on his other summoned beasts. His only hope for a successful job change was the 5-star legendary divine pet Taotie! Therefore, upon arriving at the location, Lu Zheng directly summoned it and gave a single command.

Eat—eat to your heart's content!

The monsters in the Forest of Mist were a full tier higher in both quantity and quality than the dungeons Lu Zheng had visited before. For Taotie, this was of course even more exciting.

Immediately, Dharma Avatar Heaven and Earth was cast, directly transforming into a terrifying behemoth with a shoulder height of thirty-two meters. Its massive body made the other professionals leveling inside the Forest of Mist instantly feel an immense sense of oppression, triggering widespread panic!

And when it opened its enormous maw and unleashed the Devouring Black Hole, those professionals were nearly scared out of their wits and fled for their lives.

In an instant, a terrifying black storm formed. Even though Taotie was only Level 28 now, even those premium monsters above Level 30 were torn to shreds under this horrifying gravitational storm, then sucked into Taotie's mouth.

Massive amounts of experience points surged in madly. Lu Zheng's own level had already stopped growing, but that one-fifth share of the vast experience was stored away.

Taotie's level began to skyrocket. One swallow—up 2 levels—officially reaching Level 30. Yet its level was still continuing to rise!

After the first job change, meaning monsters above Level 30, each one brought a substantial amount of experience. The level skyrocketed.

Meanwhile, inside Black Stone City, a city-wide Level 2 alert sounded!
