Chapter 100: Changing Guns
The dark void continuously flickered with Macro Cannon firelight.
Another barrage of Macro Cannons roared, a hail of projectiles pierced the void and bisected a Chaos escort ship that failed to dodge.
The remaining Cannonballs passed through it, splashing massive debris; the shattered warship slammed hard into a twisted, ugly massive Ominous Sign Ark.
The Void Shield flickered with dim light; although Aolake adjusted the shield's power, two Cannonballs still penetrated its weak spot, striking Aolake's "body" head‑on.
A massive explosion emanated from the hull, the vessel—already a fusion of various wrecks—sprayed even more fragments in the violent blast.
Inside the convoluted, bulky hull, the two Macro Cannon shots caused a tremendous tremor.
At this moment on the Ominous Sign Ark Bridge, Aolake felt damage to its "corpse", and the Servo Skull serving as its chassis floated continuously beside Washituoer.
"I feel like I was just solidly punched by an Apocalyptic battleship."
Aolake's Servo Skull kept flashing, as if blinking from the pain of being hit.
Washituoer watched the view outside the Bridge, seeing several destroyers surge forward and, targeting the receding Moon-class, launch a dense swarm of jump‑gang vessels.
A pair of pupil‑less, entirely red‑sclered huge eyes slowly flickered.
Then, craving its own "comfort", Aolake swung a hammer and smashed the Servo Skull.
Without looking back, it coldly addressed Aolake:
"You go to the front; after all, you can self‑repair."
Abadon, standing nearby, glanced at Aolake's Servo Skull at his feet, then kicked the debris aside, likewise ignoring Aolake's words.
As a despised intelligence imprisoned for years, Aolake receives no equality from humans and is merely a more useful tool to Washituoer.
No new Servo Skull emerged; the Bridge fell silent briefly, then began accelerating forward under Washituoer's command.
Meanwhile, the Macro Cannons fired from the distant Moon-class intensified their bombardment on Aolake's "corpse".
Amidst the constantly splattering exaggerated wounds, the rest of Abadon and Washituoer's fleet slowly moved behind Aolake, using it as a massive shield for the whole army.
The Macro Cannon barrage grew even more ferocious, the Ark's tremors more frequent, yet Aolake remained silent, and Washituoer kept his focus on the Display.
At this moment on the Display, the jump‑gang squad had leapt into the Moon-class, continuously exchanging fire with the Seven Gods coalition ahead.
At the forefront of the Seven Gods coalition, the human called Xisi wielded an Explosive Gun in one hand and a Terror sword in the other, charging forward on the front line.
Washituoer's gaze, thick with interest, fixed on the seemingly ordinary Explosive Gun in Xisi's hand.
Especially when Xisi casually fired an explosive round, which, under Abadon's trembling heart and the jump‑gang's terrified stare, head‑shot a veteran Power Armor Terminator; Washituoer's red eyes brightened further.
Until the last jump‑gang member fell, the scene vanished completely again; Washituoer still stared at the screen, and Abadon's face turned extremely grim:
"Washituoer, I've said it many times, the jump‑gang is meaningless."
"We should choose a fire‑overwhelm approach."
Abadon watched another wave being sent and showed outright dissatisfaction.
Washituoer, still deeply interested, withdrew his attention from the screen, not even looking at Abadon:
"If that fragment is still on you, will we meet here?"
Abadon froze, watching Xisi with the Moon-class warp away again; Abadon brushed the tiny new spikes growing on his crown, slightly tempering his discontent:
"What now? Keep pursuing?"
Abadon changed the subject, and Washituoer simply nodded:
"Of course we must pursue."
Abadon, helpless, was about to turn and make arrangements, but after Washituoer finished speaking, he suddenly raised his hand.
Abadon stared at Washituoer, slightly stunned.
He frowned in puzzlement at Washituoer, who, after a moment of reflective contemplation, continued:
"That mortal called Xisi, where does the gun in his hand come from?"
Gun?
Abadon's confusion deepened, and his displeasure at Washituoer's lack of focus grew.
Seeing Abadon's obvious irritation, Washituoer's large red eyes flickered, staring at Abadon.
Abadon, though unable to read Washituoer's gaze, secretly wondered if Washituoer was calling him a fool.
"Fool!"
Washituoer spoke directly.
Abadon's eyes widened instantly, his confusion turning to anger.
"That Explosive Gun, no matter how I look at it, isn't a particularly complex craft."
"Yet its power is astonishingly great."
"If we can obtain that Explosive Gun, I'm confident that with my ability we can definitely replicate it."
"When we equip our troops, we'll possess firepower that all other forces can scarcely match!"
Washituoer spoke quickly, and as he explained, Abadon's anger gradually was suppressed by this vision.
Then hope flickered in his eyes, but seeing the vanished Xisi, it instantly turned back to puzzlement:
"How do we get it? We can't even catch a person now."
"Should we let Xisi hand himself over?"
Abadon retorted, while Washituoer's large eyes flashed red again, fixing on Abadon.
Abadon: "???"
Even mudmen have a spark of fire, let alone a War General.
This time Washituoer didn't scold directly, but turned and walked to the side.
Abadon looked there; it was Washituoer's workshop for making little gadgets.
"Why can't Xisi hand himself over?"
"Anyway, I see Xisi in battle always tosses things casually; probably doesn't know their value."
I personally craft a Blessing Explosive Gun, take it to give him in exchange—wouldn't that work?
Abadon was stunned by the words, and even looked at Washituoer with extreme astonishment.
Because unlike other evil gods, even though Washituoer is still just a Demigod now, after all he is the conceptual god in charge of Evil Machinery.
Having him personally craft a Blessing Explosive Gun, at least in terms of equipment, it's not inferior to the Four Gods' Blessing weapons!
In other words, Washituoer intends to exchange a conceptual artifact he poured his heart and blood into crafting for the seemingly ordinary Explosive Gun in Xisi's hand.
If Abadon hadn't also seen that the Explosive Gun's power was indeed astonishing, he would have thought Washituoer's brain had been invaded by Jianqi!
At this moment, Washituoer had already picked up an iron hammer scepter, his whole body emanating dense, dark divine power, which he channeled through the scepter into the unadorned Explosive Gun before him.
Under the cover of black light, the Explosive Gun underwent a tremendous transformation; finally, as Washituoer weakly withdrew the scepter, he himself could barely stand.
Washituoer, having exhausted his last trace of divine power, looked with great satisfaction at the pitch-black Explosive Gun before him, its appearance meeting the Empire's requirements.
Even before the envious Abadon could ask, Washituoer himself kept nodding:
"Infinite ammo, never-miss upon firing, immune to evil arts, 100% penetration of spiritual energy."
"Moreover, its power can be infinitely increased according to the amount of divine power invested."
Washituoer grew more satisfied as he spoke, finally splitting his ferocious grin toward the direction Xisi had gone, revealing a hint of an anticipatory smile:
"I hope my sincerity......"
"Can sway Xisi!"
