Chapter 117: Better Pray That Next Time You Open Your Eyes You Won

~7 min read 1,287 words

Giant Axe came charging forward with a foul, stench‑filled wind.

Xisi's whole body flashed with Divine Emperor's golden light as he hurriedly stepped back, watching the Giant Axe, pressed against his body, suddenly strike the ground.

The ground, made entirely of steel, suddenly erupted in sparks under Angelon's strike, and the Giant Axe became deeply embedded.

Then, right before Xisi's eyes, Angelon struck the empty air; because no blood, skull, or the Divine Emperor's light he despised appeared, it roared even more furiously, its mouth gaping, muscles bulging, and forced the Giant Axe out of the steel ground.

The splintered steel turned into Cannonballs, spinning outward; the frenzied factions on the ground, seeing this, broke out in cold sweat and hurriedly scattered in all directions.

The units that couldn't dodge, even Astat, could not withstand the massive force, being completely crushed and sunken by the giant iron.

The surrounding crowd stared in terror at the raging Angelon, while hurriedly retreating in all directions.

Only Xisi, planting the Red Sword, slightly bent over, panting, stared at the Ascending Demon Core before him.

He then raised his hand, gritted his teeth, and lifted the Black Spear, continuously firing explosive shells at Angelon's massive body.

The violent explosions burst on Angelon's body, yet Angelon merely leaned back slightly; not only did it cause no damage, but, inflamed by the pain, it glared even more angrily at Xisi.

Immediately, the whole being transformed into a Crimson Tank, spreading its wings and charging at Xisi.

"How is this still not over?!"

Xisi cursed angrily, then tried to retreat again, but while his front foot attempted to channel divine power, his rear foot only felt completely dried up.

Even with a normal Hundredfold mortal body, Xisi's speed was actually fast, yet before the Ascending Demon Core, his speed was still insufficient!

The Giant Axe, suddenly cleaving down from above.

And this time, an attack far more terrifying than Washituoer, Xisi no longer had any divine power to block it.

Even as Xisi watched the Giant Axe, before his deathly cold rose, six pairs of already impatient scorching eyes seized his breath in an instant.

Even as Xisi resigned himself and closed his eyes, those six pairs of eyes had already begun to stir ten‑thousand‑foot waves in Subspace!

The ships sailing in Subspace looked at the suddenly raging waves with terrified faces.

They had never witnessed such violent turbulence, and they stared at the suddenly bright, competing Five-colored Divine Light beyond the Gailer position, wondering which drug the evil gods had taken!

Then, after the Six Gods hindered each other, confirming they could not break the balance, facing Xisi who was about to be cleaved apart by Angelon, the Six Gods still gritted their teeth and allocated a bit of divine power.

Yet before the divine power arrived, the first to act was surprisingly not the Six Gods.

The long‑quiet Shiwang, raising the Imperial Shield, turned his body into a Cannonball and shattered Angelon's Giant Axe.

The Giant Axe scraped past Xisi's body and struck beside him; Xisi saw it no longer attacking him, but instead standing before him, the Shiwang using the Imperial Shield to protect him, and, sharing the bewildered confusion of all onlookers, instinctively spoke:

"Why?!"

Xisi asked, while the Lai'ang Zhuangsen ahead did not turn back, still holding the Imperial Shield aloft in front of Xisi.

Only after again evading Angelon's attack did he seize the chance to turn back and speak:

"You possess the Divine Emperor's power, which belongs to the same category as my Imperial Shield, so I believe perhaps you are not..."

Lai'ang Zhuangsen spoke while turning his head, and before he could finish his sentence, he saw Xisi slightly lower his eyes, his mouth corners straining to force a smile for the Shiwang who had saved his life.

If one only looked at the current scene, it seemed a perfect conclusion of a handshake and alliance against a common foe was about to unfold.

However, the premise required Lai'ang Zhuangsen to ignore the bright radiance on Xisi—every evil god possessed it, except the Divine Emperor's light!

And seeing that Xisi even had the Blessing, yet lacked the Divine Emperor.

Lai'ang Zhuangsen's words reached his mouth, and after a few rapid twitches, he turned into fury:

"Jianqi!"

"It must be Jianqi again!"

After speaking, Shiwang suddenly swung the Giant Sword, cleaving down at the Xisi he had just rescued.

Having regained the Six Gods' supplement, Xisi activated divine power, and the whole figure suddenly vanished before his eyes.

Then, as Shiwang shifted his focus, he was again cleaved and sent flying by Angelon from the opposite side.

The Shiwang, eyes blazing, struggled out of the factory's massive wall that had been knocked down from behind, and, facing Angelon who had both flung him and collided with Xisi, furiously joined the three‑way melee.

The evenly matched three sides, before all spectators, continuously hurled each other, repeatedly turning their bodies into Cannonballs, crashing into the boundless factory that Longlin Star automatically raised.

Until Xisi was flung again, he burst out of the three‑layer collapsed wall under the numb stare of the crowd, and, seeing the surrounding parties that held no desire to attack him, Xisi calculated the timing, ceased his habitual combat, and instead surged divine power, dashing toward Bai'er.

Every faction he passed, seeing Xisi transformed like a rainbow, chose to yield outright.

Even the dark angels and holy blood angels gladly laid down their weapons.

After all, with the three fighting so publicly, the scene resembled a cataclysm, making it impossible for them to entertain any notion of mixing.

And noticing Xisi's absence, the distant Shiwang and Angelon, surprisingly, continued to clash with each other while also heading toward Xisi.

Seeing the two lingering behind, Xisi felt powerless to complain.

He merely buried his head and drove divine power without reservation, pulling his whole self away from the two madmen behind.

Then, under the covering fire of his subordinates, Xisi returned to the front line.

He ignored the admiring gazes of nearby soldiers who thought he had gone soft, and strode forward, sword raised, to Bai'er.

Before he could even ask, he saw Bai'er sitting upright, staring at the completely fused Ancient Relic before him.

"All right?!"

Xisi's eyes lit up, and, impatiently, he immediately lifted it.

Bai'er raised his head at that, saying nothing.

"How to use?"

Getting straight to the point, Bai'er suddenly sighed:

"Insert it into one's own heart."

Xisi: "?"

He looked up at Bai'er, who, with helplessness, spread his hands, letting Xisi return the relic.

"You can also wait for me to study it further."

Xisi's mouth twitched, then he glanced at the distant cataclysmic battle, the Shiwang and Angelon constantly drawing nearer; he turned back, stared at the Short Dagger in his hand, paused briefly, and suddenly raised the dagger high.

At the same time, in Bai'er's and everyone's suddenly widened gazes, Xisi stared at the raised Short Dagger, gritted his teeth and said:

"Although you don't understand."

"But you'd better pray; the next time I open my eyes......"

"Not in Subspace!"

With those words finished, the Short Dagger plunged down violently, and the heart that had been beating continuously stopped instantly!

Xisi froze in place, his vital signs rapidly fading as the heart ceased beating.

Beside him, Ana's eyes widened instantly, and the various prosthetic limbs on her body went berserk, all targeting Xisi.

Then Xisi died, and that unabashed Six Gods Light suddenly tore the Subspace, under the suddenly widened, terror‑filled eyes of all combatants, and at the instant when even Shiwang and Angelon could only stand frozen, it turned into countless massive hands that surged forward......

Dead Xisi!
