Chapter 124: Washituoer, No—I'll Take It!
Scattered humans dragged their weary bodies, stumbling through the sea of corpses.
They gathered in groups of two or three, then moved toward a small rise.
Further away from the scattered survivors, industrial demons were regrouping and resurrected dead spirits were reassembling.
At this moment on the small rise, Shiwang, Azrael, Dante, and Fanluosi were leading various Imperial remnants to set up defenses.
Although everyone gathered around Shiwang, listening to his briefing on the current situation, everyone's eyes kept glancing to the other side, where Xisi sat on an ammunition crate receiving treatment from Bai'er.
Regarding his subordinates' lack of seriousness, Shiwang was not angry; after all, not only they occasionally looked at Xisi, Shiwang himself also glanced over.
Besides Xisi's recent overwhelming strike, they were also all afraid of the Divine Emperor, the old man, who was watching them through Xisi's eyes.
Throughout the scene, only Xisi remained calm, receiving Bai'er's treatment while burying his head, lost in thought.
Since he was used to being spied on by those old Subspace things, Xisi didn't mind.
Until Shiwang cleared his throat lightly, the people in the distance finally refocused on the projection.
Shiwang then pointed at the projection and continued:
"So our next mission must be to destroy this vile planet."
When Shiwang spoke, the surrounding people grimaced upon hearing it.
First they looked up at their own fleet in orbit, nearly annihilated, then furrowed their brows and subconsciously glanced at Xisi.
Seeing this, Shiwang realized the goal was overly demanding, paused, and settled for a secondary option:
"At the very least, we must bomb Longlin Star on a large scale, reducing its size as much as possible."
Shiwang conceded; although everyone understood that Longlin Star had become Abadon's base, a planet-sized mobile base, and that if left unchecked, Abadon and Washituoer would soon gain rapid power.
Even so, faced with such a 'compromise' target, everyone's furrowed brows did not ease.
Seeing the crowd still lacking confidence, when he was younger Shiwang would have hammered these people's dog brains out.
But now, with a head of white hair and a white beard, Shiwang surprisingly was not angry, or at least did not show anger, and instead thought seriously about how to achieve this goal.
After pondering, his gaze still, like everyone else's, fell on the silent Xisi on the other side.
He also noticed that Xisi kept his head down in thought, as if for too long.
"Xisi... Sir."
Shiwang paused before speaking, ultimately giving Xisi a very egalitarian address.
When Shiwang spoke personally, Xisi still gave no response, remaining deep in thought.
Seeing this, Shiwang helplessly glanced at the surrounding people, then could only raise his voice slightly and speak again:
"Sir Xisi!"
"Huh?"
Xisi stared blankly, his eyes unfocused, then looked up, seeing everyone staring at him, with Shiwang standing directly before him, prompting Xisi to quickly refocus.
Facing the surrounding puzzled gazes, he stood up while feeling a summons that arose after the Divine Emperor 'possessed' him.
The summons was neither unfamiliar nor mysterious; it came directly from the Divine Emperor himself.
Specifically, it originated from the core of the Human Empire, on the sacred Terra of the Solar Star Region, where the Emperor's body resides.
The reason Xisi fell into contemplation was that the summons was not gentle or soothing, but carried an impatient urging.
The Emperor on the Golden Throne seemed urgently needing Xisi to go to Terra.
"This trip to find Kiriman—did the Divine Emperor foresee some bad thing?"
Xisi thought for a long time but couldn't understand, so Shiwang had to call out twice.
Only after Xisi fully stood up could he set aside the Divine Emperor's summons and shift his attention to the present.
Facing Shiwang's and others' expectant gazes, Xisi reluctantly narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows:
"If it really can't..."
"We'll retreat first and regroup some fleets."
Xisi had no better solution; seeing this, everyone's hope faded, and they furrowed their brows even tighter, looking back at the projection.
Meanwhile, while Xisi and Shiwang led the group in agonizing over how to reduce Longlin Star, deep beneath Longlin Star's interior at this moment...
In an automatically constructed 'Bridge', Abadon sat dazed, slumped in the new base that Washituoer had prepared for him.
Facing Washituoer ahead, the whole person was especially despondent:
"Our plan has completely failed."
"First Kiriman, then Lain Zhuangsen, and now another..."
"The golden‑glowing Xisi!"
Abadon sounded weak, his tone only rising when he mentioned Xisi.
He then looked up, recalling the earlier scene of eighteen legions fighting side by side, all humanity united, and a bitter expression appeared on his face:
"I feel the era of the Original Body has not ended."
"The era of the Divine Emperor is about to return..."
Abadon's words were full of despondency; Washituoer across from him had not wanted to pay attention, but hearing this, he couldn't help but glance at Abadon angrily.
He then turned, continuing his own tasks, yet had to speak:
"Don't worry, you won't come back!"
Abadon stared blankly upward at Washituoer's words, then a vast hope instantly flashed in his eyes.
Just as he was about to ask Washituoer for a solution, Washituoer gave a final strike to his staff, revealing his figure.
The projection before them showed Longlin Star's crust spinning wildly after Washituoer executed the command.
The crust's movement was so violent that even Abadon at the core felt the surrounding structures tremble.
Then Washituoer's voice softly came:
"They are on Longlin Star; if they think my Longlin Star can only forge demons, they are too arrogant!"
Washituoer opened his mouth, and in Abadon's slowly widening eyes the projected image showed the Imperial Troops being gulped down, mouth after mouth, by the continent beneath his feet!
On the surface.
Xisi flies in midair.
He watches in rage as the continental surface beneath his feet opens and closes.
He had originally been pondering how to deal with Shiwang and the others on Longlin Star, but instead he continuously commands the survivors to frantically board the Yunxuji, doing everything possible to escape the surface.
However, the sudden turn of events caused the overwhelming majority of survivors who had barely endured the great battle with Xisi to plunge into a bottomless abyss, where they were then flattened into "thin paper" by the massive iron mat inside that kept booming and striking.
Soon after, the industrial demons that had just assembled in the distance suddenly charged forward, beginning to kick the fallen.
As for the Dead Spirits on the other side, Washituoer likewise brushed them aside, leaving only the Undead Fleet watching helplessly from Orbit. Their attacks on the planet had little effect, so they turned and violently battered the silent, doomed Aolake.
"Return to Orbit first!"
Gazing at the planet beneath him that is truly attacking him, and at the countless soldiers whose deaths in the abyss are meaningless, Xisi hears the voice echoing in his ears that even Shiwang must choose to leave.
Then, looking at the Yunxuji close to him, Shiwang, through the porthole, stared at the ground with a face full of rage. Xisi glanced at the surface, then at the few remaining Empire Fleet above his head, and likewise clenched his teeth, preparing to return to Orbit first.
Just as Xisi, who had just swept over his head and was about to fly toward the Yunxuji, suddenly paused.
In the Yunxuji whose entrance had already opened in the distance, Shiwang and the others looked at Xisi with anxious faces.
Xisi was stunned for a moment, then slowly raised his head again to look at the sky.
Then looking at the Undead Fleet in Orbit firing wildly, and at the Ominous Sign Ark that was unresponsive, awaiting a desperate death, Xisi's eyes...
suddenly brightened!
