Chapter 282: Secret Cult (Part 2)

~7 min read 1,247 words

Xisi silently sized up the changes before him.

He tilted his head to look around; the once noisy battlefield instantly became a void at this moment.

No matter which direction Xisi looked, he could only see endless, boundless darkness covering the sky and ground.

Even the divine power bestowed by the Divine Emperor was completely cut off in this world.

A flash of Divine Light flickered from Xisi's palm.

He felt only Terra's support was severed; the power within his own body still remained, and only then did Xisi withdraw his gaze, looking at the crowd of silent onlookers within the endless void.

The gazes of both sides collided in midair.

No one on the scene spoke; the whole world was silent.

On one side stood a crowd of varied forms, on the other the godlike Xisi.

Both sides silently examined each other in the air.

It was clear that the people opposite were especially curious about Xisi.

Xisi, looking at the strangely assembled crowd opposite, thought carefully and vaguely recalled their identity: the group that forcibly interrupted Terra's siege and pulled him alone into this space.

Without speaking, Xisi silently stared at the opposite side and slowly uttered two words in his heart:

"Secret…Cult."

The Secret Cult is a mysterious organization that appears only a few times in official histories.

Its members come from various races across the galaxy, and they are all top individuals of their respective races.

Moreover, legend says the true puppet master behind the Secret Cult bears the shadow of an Ancient Saint!

Among the crowd Xisi sees now are conspicuous Dead Spirits, the Spirit race, and even a Green Skin shaman, two space dwarves.

And that's not all; Xisi even saw several humans whose forms differed greatly.

Apart from immortal humans like the Emperor, Xisi actually saw a human whose physique was even more coordinated and perfect than the Imperial Guard.

Golden Man???

Xisi looked at this unique human and couldn't help feeling a mix of surprise and doubt deep inside.

The seemingly long‑dead Golden Man opposite sensed Xisi's gaze, yet showed no fear of the Divine Light on Xisi, smiling and returning a friendly look.

Golden Men belong to humanity's golden age, not called genetic modification but a perfect human of genetic ascension, only later eradicated by the Iron Man rebellion.

Legend says such ultimate human individuals are now only a handful hidden among humanity's massive numbers.

And now, opposite Xisi, it seems one such individual stands there.

Besides humans, Dead Spirits, Green Skin, dwarves, and the Spirit race—well‑known galactic species—

beyond these main races, Xisi also saw several powerful Alien Forms that had long been annihilated.

Among them was the iconic "Worm‑person" of the Ran Dan Alien Form.

The Ran Dan Alien Form was unprecedentedly powerful in its day; the damage it inflicted on the Empire was only slightly less than the Helusu Great Rebellion.

After all, the Ran Dan Alien Form was one of the few alien forces that, without waiting for the Empire to strike, took the initiative and could continuously win.

So seeing even the Worm‑person standing opposite made Xisi so shocked.

This Secret Cult, which gathers the strongest individuals of the galaxy's most powerful races, appears here with a purpose that, upon recollection, replaces Xisi's curiosity with caution.

Xisi even silently placed both hands on the Red Sword Black Spear.

Because Xisi clearly remembered that the ultimate goal of the Secret Cult is…

…to utterly eradicate the Four Gods!!!

Or, more broadly, to eliminate all evil deities!

This is also the only organization in official histories, besides the Emperor, that openly declared war on all Subspace evil deities.

Logically, regarding this goal, even if Xisi is not an ally, he would at least not become an enemy.

After all, humanity now looks like a death pit, and the Four Gods have exerted great effort!

Yet as Xisi watched the Secret Cult continuously sending friendly glances his way, his wariness deepened with each recollection.

Because the Secret Cult's means to achieve this goal…

…is the extermination of all humanity!

Why, when Terra fought to the Solar System, did the Four Gods act more actively than the Divine Emperor?

Because for the Divine Emperor, humanity cannot be annihilated.

The same logic applies to the Four Gods.

Whether or not the Four Gods acknowledge it, they already parasitize on humanity as a species.

Almost all of their power comes from the single species of humanity.

Losing humanity would mean the Four Gods lose the pillar that sustains their continued existence.

So the Secret Cult's idea is simple: since the Four Gods cannot survive without humanity, just kill all humans.

The idea may sound somewhat ridiculous.

Yet as a conglomerate of top individuals from many races, they almost succeeded.

According to the plan, as long as they support Helusu in winning this Terra siege, then with Helusu's current state and the Original Body's betrayal, a second civil war will follow.

But two consecutive civil wars would allow other alien forces to rise again and wipe out all humanity.

And the Alpha Legion's betrayal, while slaughtering loyalists, shouted "for the Emperor," clearly influenced by the Secret Cult.

It can be said that the Alpha Legion truly served the Secret Cult, not Helusu.

Thus the Great Rebellion on the surface appears as a war between the Empire and the Four Gods, but in fact there is a hidden Secret Cult.

Moreover, the purposes of these three parties are completely different.

The Empire wants to fully quell the rebellion, the Four Gods want the Empire half‑dead, and the Secret Cult wants Helusu to achieve victory.

In the end, everyone knows the victor will be the Four Gods.

Originally the Secret Cult would choose to continue lying low, preparing other means to try to exterminate all humanity.

But as the timeline has progressed to the present, seeing a situation far beyond its expectations, the Secret Cult finally could no longer restrain itself and took the initiative.

And the target of their action is Xisi, who has caused a tremendous upheaval in the Galaxy.

The two sides may be far apart, or perhaps very close.

Within the void fashioned by the Secret Cult, Xisi cannot even accurately gauge the distance.

That is why, even though the opponents are clearly a bunch of worthless fighters, Xisi still never dares to strike first.

The members of the Secret Cult also have no communication among themselves; they simply wear friendly smiles, and after scrutinizing Xisi for a long while, they remain silent......

They extend their hands.

The Secret Cult members spread their hands toward Xisi in welcome, with no hostility on their faces, only endless friendliness and harmony.

Yet, looking at this friendliness, Xisi cannot muster any goodwill.

Because this bunch of god‑talking clowns actually wants Xisi to join their plan to exterminate all humanity.

And while the other side greets him, Xisi only grows more guarded; the Secret Cult members also gradually withdraw their smiles.

Then, after giving Xisi a serious look, they silently retract their welcoming hands.

Afterwards, without words, the Secret Cult members cast a final glance at Xisi, their forms gradually becoming illusory.

Then, another blink.

Even before Xisi can react, the world before his eyes instantly changes into a massive planet where the land is covered by endless glass.

The spacetime tunnel above his head vanishes, and Terra beneath his feet disappears as well.

Even the star above his head completely disappears!
