Chapter 337: Are These Beastmen Growing Out of the Ground?
"After our repeated verification, these Green… no, these Beastmen truly change every day!"
The void gradually calms.
After leaving behind scattered bio‑ship wreckage, the human‑Beastmen combined fleet heads toward the next frontline world.
Only after receiving a massive influx of fresh recruits does the Beastmen army resume grinding the Tairen.
In the void, the bio‑ships scramble to recover as much of the scattered wreckage as possible and transport it to the rear to hatch more war‑beasts and bio‑ships, thereby offsetting the attrition.
Conversely, the Beastmen army on the ground fights the Tairen fiercely, launching a new round of planetary contest.
And far from the battlefield, in the distant void, Viktor—almost treated as invisible by Xisi—receives repeated confirmations from his subordinate Conspiracy Regiment Commanders, his expression turning brilliantly vivid.
The Dark Spirit Clan, besides indulging in perversions, also loves conspiracies.
In the Dark Spirit Clan's world, before any event or major battle, a great deal of conspiratorial activity always precedes the actual action.
So regarding past matters, the Dark Spirit Clan always feels somewhat out of sync.
Of course, in the vast majority of cases, these conspiracies of the Dark Spirit Clan provide them with substantial practical aid when the subsequent events truly erupt.
Yet now, looking at the void far beyond after Xisi's departure, Viktor oddly feels powerless.
After all, the only ones they can influence are humans, and humans rarely go to the front lines.
The remaining Green Skin Beastmen are even more indifferent to the Spirit Clan; the Dark Spirit Clan spent half a day babbling, drafting all sorts of baffling clauses for the Beastmen, trying to rope them in.
As a result, after the Beastmen's ears were sore from listening, their only reply was to smash the Spirit Clan before them in half with a fist or an axe.
This meant that although Viktor had brought Ge Mo's main fleet, throughout the whole process he could only watch helplessly.
Of course, if he merely watches while Xisi is gradually worn down by the Tairen, that too is a decent option.
But the problem is that after Viktor observed carefully, he was the first to realize what Xisi was actually doing!
"Break in, drop newborn Beastmen, take away blood‑war Beastmen DNA, re‑plant, break in again…"
"Why do I feel like Xisi is farming!"
Viktor didn't state it outright; he merely glanced at the flood of video data returned in the projection and silently muttered that line to himself.
After finishing that snide remark, he again looked at the comparison charts delivered by his subordinate Conspiracy Regiment Commanders, watching row after row of Beastmen's obvious changes, his gaze mute and wordless.
Then, facing the multitude of subordinates below, Viktor calmly waved his hand, ordering them all to retreat.
"You all withdraw first."
The Conspiracy Regiment Commanders left respectfully, and none dared to glance again at the Beastmen comparison charts without Viktor's command.
And until every subordinate had left, leaving the room with only Viktor inside.
Viktor finally stared earnestly at the Beastmen comparison chart before him, and suddenly plopped himself onto the throne.
The confidence he had shown before his subordinates now turned into wildly fluttering eyelids and a stare filled with regret and horror.
"Those lunatics of the Secret Cult—what reaction will they have after seeing this comparison chart?"
"And also… why did I have to believe the Secret Cult's nonsense?"
"Eradicate humanity, thereby destroying the evil god?"
Viktor, still muttering under his breath, lifted his head forcefully, glanced again at the comparison chart before him and the newest one; although its physique still fell short of a true Ancient Beastman, its visage was now infinitely close to Xisi's Beastmen.
Viktor's mind seemed again crushed by a thousand‑pound weight, sinking back down.
"Leave that remark for the Beastmen who are about to emerge."
"At this rate, probably another month or two."
After speaking, Viktor hunched his back and stayed silent for a while, then after a long pause finally lifted his head again.
He said nothing further, simply waved his hand to dismiss the Beastmen comparison chart, released a burst of spiritual energy, and re‑illuminated the entire cabin.
Quickly, without Viktor having to dispatch messengers,
a massive influx of Conspiracy Regiment Commanders streamed back through the doors.
These commanders remained infinitely deferential as always, and to Viktor they offered the most humble etiquette of all civilizations in the galaxy.
"What? Why isn't it the Dark Spirit Clan's most humble etiquette?"
"Can't help it—after all, the Dark Spirit Clan is especially competitive when it comes to flattering their leader!"
Viktor then raised his hand and addressed the assembled crowd:
"All forces withdraw immediately, gradually widen the distance from the human alert fleet, then all return to Ge Mo."
Viktor spoke in an unquestionable tone, and the people below who heard the order this time finally did not respond immediately.
Instead, they all froze in a tidy shock.
They understood the implication of Viktor's command perfectly: it meant Viktor was formally telling the Secret Cult that before the Secret Cult presents a solution to counter Xisi's new situation,
the Dark Spirit Clan will continue to remain on standby.
If it were another civilization, the supreme leader's word would be carried out resolutely, or at least executed after expressing concern.
After all, the opportunistic 'wall‑riding' faction is unpopular everywhere.
So the commanders below hesitated thus.
Finally, after some unclear private discussion, the lowest‑ranked commander, trembling at the back of the crowd, raised his head:
"My lord, if we act this way, will it cause trouble for the Secret Cult…"
The obviously expendable junior commander was cut off, and Viktor slightly shifted his gloomy gaze onto the Conspiracy Regiment Commanders at the front of his line.
Even without direct eye contact, as Viktor's gaze swept over, it finally fixed on the senior commander he once 'most trusted'.
He then raised his hand; under the suddenly fierce stare, a powerful wave of spiritual energy surged between the two.
There was no back‑and‑forth duel; after a flash of light, the commander Viktor once 'most trusted' turned into debris and blood that filled the room.
"No one can betray me, and no one can win me over!"
"Not even the Secret Cult!"
Viktor, amid the blood‑soaked room, addressed the other commanders below, then waved his hand; a squad of Dark Spirit Clan guards entered and dragged all of the senior commander's subordinates out.
Although many low‑rank Regiment Commanders frantically claimed they were unaware, the only thing awaiting them was the slaughter knives already prepared.
Then, Weikte swept his gaze around the room once more, finally projecting onto the void above his head the beastman comparison image he had seen earlier.
"You all take a look as well, so you can't say I'm being unreasonable."
Weikte seemed to speak to an empty space where no one stood.
Meanwhile, in an unnamed corner of a distant galaxy, within a dark room, flickering dim lights ignited, and the illumination displayed the very scene from Weikte's room.
At the same time, watching the Xisi beastman, who was wildly evolving just as that day, on the other side of the image, a human silently stared for a while, then lifted a hand to turn off the projection.
After a moment, a faint echo resonated in the darkness:
"These beastmen..."
"Could they belong to the local chief?!"
