Chapter 53: My Gate Is Unbreakable

~6 min read 1,183 words

"What? The Chaodu Dameng was breached?"

"What? The Lower Nest garrison mutinied on the spot?"

"What? The Zhongchao garrison also mutinied?"

"Wait, you aren't coming to tell me that Upper Nest also mutinied, are you!"

"Haha, I knew the Upper Nest garrison could be trusted."

"Hm? What do you mean 'completely dead'?!"

Nest City Tower Top.

A plump noble sat in his luxurious chamber.

Around him were piles of precious collectibles, and the table was filled with a lunch prepared from fresh produce.

Even the opulent king-size bed behind him, its soft down comforter, faintly concealed a dozen or so languid, graceful silhouettes.

But these "pleasant" things could no longer pique his interest; he merely strained to support his corpulent body, watching the successive reports arrive before him with his Prosthetic Eyes.

The commander before him was also pallid; not only was the Governor bewildered about what had happened, even his military chief was equally baffled.

After all, from the moment the first report arrived to the time the commander rushed to the Tower Top to report, the Nest City beneath his feet had actually "changed its name"!

The Governor's expression was stunned; despite living in decadence and engaging in endless scheming and backstabbing to climb to the planetary Governor seat, his intellect and emotional intelligence far surpassed ordinary people.

After a brief moment of shock, the Governor stopped probing what was happening below, turning his gaze to his military chief with a stern look:

"Immediately seal all doors at the Tower Top, and also cut off the water supply completely. Once the heavy firepower units return outside, these traitors will have nothing but a dead end."

The Governor calmly made the correct decision, and the military chief promptly turned to carry it out.

But just before leaving, the chief seemed to recall something and spoke hesitantly:

"The lower doors have all been breached; can our Tower Top gate hold?"

The Governor did not show anger at the question; instead, his previously tense face relaxed.

He even returned to the dining table, speared a piece of unknown creature roast, and while savoring it, said:

"My gate is unbreakable!"

In front of the Nest City Tower Top.

A large number of defense troops, suddenly alert under the 'sniper Gatling', stood at attention.

The Black Watch was temporarily dispatched, doing its best to maintain control over the troops.

Meanwhile, Ana's Servo Skull repeatedly scanned the soldiers bearing the eight‑pointed star, striving to detect any possible A‑space Fluctuation.

But after another pass of the Servo Skull, Ana's data still showed that none of these people had any contact with Subspace.

In other words, aside from bearing the eight‑pointed star, these rebels were still ordinary mortals!

Watching the report Ana delivered, Xisi, who was waiting for Daiweiluo to breach the gate, frowned, unlike Bunoke's relaxed demeanor.

"What kind of battlefield would make Chaos itself unwilling to intervene?"

Xisi muttered inwardly, since an entire planet had voluntarily thrown itself into Chaos, sacrificing most of the day, and yet you tell me Subspace doesn't come here?

And a battlefield that even Chaos deems a pile of 'shit', Xisi truly cannot imagine what awaits him in space.

After a brief rant, Xisi exhaled heavily, confirming the mortals were still normal, and said:

"Order the factories in Zhongchao and Lower Nest to resume operation, and replace the soldiers' uniforms as soon as possible."

"Also, immediately burn all garments and graffiti bearing profane symbols with fierce fire."

Youwa, though not understanding why the symbols were profane, still turned to assign the factories' production tasks.

Bunoke also saluted and turned to act, and soon the area in front of the Tower Top was filled with a dense flurry of people stripping their clothes.

Among them were many female soldiers.

But Xisi had no time to regard this shocking scene; after speaking, he stepped forward and, looking at Daiweiluo, who still hadn't blown the door open after half a day, finally asked:

"Are you actually capable or not?"

Daiweiluo showed no displeasure toward Xisi; he simply stared at the blackened door, his eyes reflecting the wordless awe of the dog nobility truly rich.

He didn't even consider how to blast the door further; Daiweiluo simply stood up:

"This gate is alloyed with refined gold."

Refined gold?

Xisi, and even Ana, were taken aback.

After all, refined gold is among the Empire's most elite luxury materials, arguably a strategic resource.

Who would have thought that such a tiny Nest City in a fringe world would use it to forge a gate!

Seeing Daiweiluo give up outright, Xisi's face lit up; now Xisi was even more eager to know exactly what this place, which even Chaos refused to meddle with, was!

He rose instantly, gazing at the massive door before him, and nodded at Daiweiluo:

"Let me."

Daiweiluo was stunned, shocked that Xisi actually had a way to breach the gate.

But then he recalled something, and Daiweiluo suddenly remembered.

Honestly clearing the way, Xisi stepped before the gate under everyone's gaze.

Seeing Daiweiluo step aside, this mortal Xisi still didn't believe it was impossible, and from an unseen Communicator emitted a burst of uncontrollable snicker.

The mechanically altered Electronic Voice, with its grating intonation, conveyed emotion:

"Even the Emperor's angels can't do it, and you think you can!?"

The Governor's voice was full of mockery, for once he confirmed even Daiweiluo couldn't breach the gate, his heart settled back into his gut.

He also felt that the gate he had spent a fortune to forge had turned out to be an absolute profit.

"You should know my gate was personally forged by the Mechanical Priest of the forging world."

"Unless it's the Divine Emperor..."

"No, unless the Corpse Emperor himself comes, don't even think about breaking open my gate!"

Governor was in high spirits, for nothing is more exhilarating than watching an opponent get humiliated.

Xisi simply raised his hand and fired a shot that blew up the hidden Communicator, then set down the Explosive Gun and placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

With a light tug, a dazzling red beam followed, spreading along the blade and hovering before the gate!

Under the gaze of the crowd, Xisi in Gilded Silver Armor wielded the red‑glowing 'light sword', and before everyone—including the Governor behind the gate whose eyes widened—he pressed the sword like a hot iron, slowly driving it into the impenetrable gate.

Even around the blade, the metal alloyed with refined gold instantly turned into seething molten iron, flowing outward.

Then came a slow slicing; Xisi, still holding the Red Sword, completely melted the gate's joints!

A deep, muffled rumble fell backward in a neat line, and behind the gate the guard troops had already slipped away.

When the small wisp of smoke cleared, Xisi, still bearing the Red Sword, walked through the gate; in the passage beyond, the Governor wore a composed, expressionless face.

He glanced at his own gate, then at Xisi, and then wore an indifferent expression, lifted his head and said nothing:

"You call this thing a 'sword'?"
