Chapter 86: Divine Machine
Although every Imperial-level Titan is a treasure of the Empire.
But don't say it's this one; even if a few more showed up, they still can't compare to you, sir!
Sha Hansen chased after Xisi, on the verge of tears with none to shed, while Fanluosi hurriedly stayed by his side, his eyes fixed on Sha Hansen as if trying to scrape off a few ounces of flesh with his gaze.
After Sha Hansen finished his briefing, Xisi only stared blankly for a moment, confirming that it was the Machine Soul that malfunctioned; the Titan's own systems were entirely normal, even the expended ammunition energy had been replenished by the Mechanical Church, leaving it at full health.
Accustomed to piloting battered warships, Xisi actually intended to personally "pacify" the Machine Soul!
Upon hearing this, the Foundry General leapt up excitedly in agreement; what could please the Machine Soul more than the Divine Emperor's Blessing?
Moreover, with the propaganda from the Mechanical Priest returning from the battle cruiser, rumors that Xisi is the Om Messiah have already begun circulating within the Mechanical Church in Ustali.
Although the Foundry General was half‑skeptical, in any case Xisi's pacifying effort was far better than that of ordinary Mechanical Priests and monks!
It only tormented Sha Hansen and Fanluosi, the two Judges; now they merely plead for Xisi to retract the order, stay peacefully in the Arctic, and if the battle turns dire, have the remaining Empire Fleet prioritize evacuating Xisi.
But when Xisi reached the doorway, the already‑assembled human and Green Skin armies erupted in cheers upon seeing him emerge, and Sha Hansen and Fanluosi could not dissuade Xisi.
Staring at the "Xisi Green Skin" before him, a Green Skin unlike any ordinary, and on the other side, human troops reinforced with a plethora of Mechanical Church tanks, armored cars, and even Mechanical Church Knight Mechs.
Xisi finally turned and extended his arms toward the two Judges behind him:
"Enough talk, I've decided to deploy this Titan!"
Sha Hansen and Fanluosi forced a halt, gazing at Xisi's resolute expression; their mouths twitched several times, leaving them speechless.
Moreover, Xisi's motive was for the Empire's sake; otherwise, waiting for the Green Skin and the Tairen to settle the outcome would only doom this Imperial-level Titan to complete annihilation.
If the Imperial-level Titan could be awakened before then, the subsequent defense would undoubtedly be much stronger.
Of course, there was another unspoken reason; after all, who wouldn't want to fire up the Divine Machine?!
Soon, with human troops bristling with Empire vehicles on Xisi's left and a massive Green Skin Frenzy of LupiLaoda and Gaomao King Kong on his right, Xisi took two strides onto a Poison Blade‑class heavy tank and slammed the accelerator!
He watched Xisi lead the mixed human and Green Skin assault force away.
Fanluosi and Sha Hansen lingered unwilling to leave for a long time, and even after Xisi vanished completely, they summoned a Servo Skull to examine the projection.
As Xisi pressed deeper into the battlefield, the ground around him, besides the raging Insect Tide and Green Skin, began to fill with ever‑increasing extinction mushroom clouds; Fanluosi and Sha Hansen could only silently pray for the Divine Emperor's Blessing in their hearts.
The chassis, far more massive and solid than Limanlus, was shattered by Xisi's Poison Blade in a single blast, crushing a Green Skin war leader who had attempted to snatch his Green Skin Crown.
Seeing their own leader vanish at a glance, the remaining Green Skin youngsters stared blankly at Xisi, who then pointed behind himself:
"You are now my kids now!"
The Green Skin youths wore awkward expressions; even though Xisi wore the Green Skin Crown, they felt something was off about his words.
Yet when Xisi's Poison Blade rolled over their former leader, the youths briefly contemplated and then gladly joined this Green Skin chief, who, though bearing a human appearance, was far stronger.
With the addition of these Green Skin youths, the ranks behind Xisi finally returned, albeit temporarily, to the size they had when departing the Arctic.
But glancing at the diverse‑clad Green Skin from various tribes behind him, Xisi had no time to give them any welcome.
When another nuclear bomb—its origin unknown whether Empire or Chaos—rained down from the sky, Xisi hurried into the Poison Blade and sealed all doors and windows.
The massive explosion sent mushroom clouds soaring; the ground roiled like surging waves, radiation‑laden gusts laced with debris raged across the terrain, and even inside the tank Xisi could feel the dense, frantic barrage of wind and shrapnel striking the armor plates.
After the blast subsided a bit, Xisi emerged again, only to find the newly‑joined Green Skin group vanished somewhere before the mushroom cloud under the orange‑red sky.
Staring at the further‑reduced Green Skin numbers, Xisi gritted his teeth and turned to search for any new Green Skin nearby; but the freshly‑dropped bomb left the world eerily "clean"—aside from the towering mushroom clouds darkening everything, Xisi saw no moving silhouettes, only distant Tairen and Green Skin Titan hordes causing landslides on the horizon.
Yet precisely because of this emptiness, Xisi's gaze finally caught the far‑edge of the land, where the Imperial-level Titan lay fallen yet still resembled a range of mountains.
Seeing this, Xisi rejoiced and hurriedly ordered the crowd to advance; the opposing Guardian Sect Army, evidently pre‑notified, withdrew their defenses as a human leading a mixed human‑Green Skin unit approached, allowing Xisi to enter.
After much effort Xisi finally entered the control zone erected by the Guardian Sect Army; the first thing that caught his eye was, not far away, a group of defenseless Mechanical Monks who, after the Guardian Sect Army fell, fearlessly charged forward, temporarily blocking the Green Skin that rushed to seize the technological creation.
Close to those Mechanical Monks, a cadre of senior Mechanical Priests, led by a sage, disregarded the blood splattering nearby, raising incense burners while circling the Titan to soothe its Machine Soul.
Even in Xisi's peripheral vision, an open area nearby was piled with Mechanical Priests who had died for various reasons; yet despite such losses, the Mechanical Church kept sending forth troops, crazily trying to raise the Imperial-level Titan.
Dong~
A dozen or so servo servants pushed the great bell, which the monks struck; below, the servo servants, monks, and priests, under the sage's guidance, recited the Om Messiah's prayer:
"Ring the great bell once, push the lever, activate the piston and pump;"
The bell rang repeatedly as the prayer was chanted, but seeing the unresponsive Imperial-level Titan, Xisi withdrew his gaze and first pointed toward the incoming Green Skin army:
"Immediately coordinate with the Guardian Sect Army to set up defenses!"
Here lies an anti‑air defense system the Mechanical Church installed without regard to cost, so for now there's no need to worry about overhead extinction weapons.
With Xisi's troops as support, those priests, already drenched in their comrades' blood, could finally soothe the Machine Soul with greater devotion.
However, when they completed another soothing cycle and opened their eyes, they saw not a responsive Titan but a Poison Blade rolled up ahead, from which stepped a mortal clad in Gilded Silver Armor, striding across the toppled "Majestic Cathedral".
The Mechanical Church was startled; a Servo Skull hurried over, and a sage's voice, tinged with dissatisfied counsel, said:
"Sir, if you wish to help soothe the Machine Soul, you should be below, not entering the control room!"
Xisi ignored the Servo Skull altogether, marching with a dozen Black Watch and even two Green Skin bosses whose once‑fervent faces now showed a hint of reason, striding into the Titan's interior.
When Xisi finally reached the Titan's command deck, comparable to a bridge, he surveyed the area, saw an empty socket on the Mechanical Throne that linked to the Machine Soul, sat directly in front of the Servo Skull, then grasped a plug and, after connecting it to his Power Armor interface, finally responded:
"Now, strike the great bell!"
With those words, the plug engaged the interface.
The vast land lay blanketed in radiation‑laden dust.
Countless mushroom clouds raised towering, sun‑obscuring black clouds, slowly steaming upward.
The world was shrouded in darkness, with only orange‑red light spilling from the distant horizon.
On a distant hillside, the silhouette of a Super Ancient Giant Debris emerged halfway, colliding with a biological Titan on the opposite side that marched forward with jointed limbs, causing the ground to quake.
The Super Ancient Giant Debris slowly tipped backward, like Gong Gong shattering Mount Buzhou, its straight cylindrical mass pressing against the hill behind, raising clouds of dust and thunderous rumble, sweeping away the sky‑high black clouds and ash.
More extinction weapons flew overhead.
Around him were more Green Skin, Tairen, and even Chaos rushing forward.
On this endless Revelation battlefield, the great bell, already struck countless times, once again resonated with a powerful, melodious toll!
Dong~
The crowd in red robes and gears recited Om Messiah's prayer in unison.
"Ring the great bell once, pull the lever, activate the piston and pump;"
Steam spews from its limbs, and the long‑dimmed Titan eyes flare with a crimson light curtain.
Dong~
"Ring the great bell twice, press the button, ignite the turbine, infuse life;"
The gears begin to turn, the massive arms forcefully embed into the earth, the towering body rises slowly, casting a vast shadow while countless overlying rubble and debris swarm down.
Dong~
"Ring the great bell three times, sing in unison, praise the God of Ten Thousand Machines."
The Mechanical Church members look up at the sky; the gigantic Divine Machine blocks the heavens, bearing a towering cathedral on its back and shoulders, and the Titan skull before the cathedral's gate slowly turns, scanning for any Empire enemy daring to set foot on human soil!
The Mechanical Church does not exude the fervor of the National Church; they simply watch Xisi, directly linked to the Emperor's Titan, and silently utter his great name in their hearts.
And then......
Xisi feels himself becoming a mountain range, and fires an 'Incineration Cannon' at a line of roaring biological Titans.
The plasma's light overwhelms everything, and a frantic gust of wind sweeps the world.
All eyes that look at Xisi instantly shut, and when they grit their teeth and open again, a blinding terrifying column of light rams through the ground, carving a snarling gorge in the earth, then, unabated, emerges from the opposite side of the horizon.
Burst out of the atmosphere!
